Shooting out window legal?

I need autistic legal advice.

Is the following legal:

>Shooting pistol out truck window.
>truck engine is off
>electric on
>Roosevelt-arapaho Colorado National Forest
>vehicle parked in dirt, off-road
>not shooting over any roads
>no people within .5 mile
> huge backstop

I'm recreating the Nicolas cage / pascal car meme and want to post video, but need to know if legal.

Best I could find is it's illegal to shoot on a road, over a road, near people, moving vehicle, etc.

most car rules only have jurisdiction on roads so I reckon if you're allowed to shoot there you should be able to shoot there from inside a vehicle

Hunting out of a vehicle is illegal in most states. Target shooting is legal in most national forests, but restricted in certain areas and during dry seasons at the discretion of each ranger district.

Thanks, I'm tracking hunting laws and right now this national forest allows shooting in the area.

I'm more concerned with possible "drive by" shooting laws or something. discharging a weapon from within a vehicle.

You can't shoot from, across, or a certain distances from the roadway. Unless you are on private property.

tracking, this is off road (by about 40 feet) and shooting away from road (trajectory not intersecting road)

Every state has different laws. Maybe call a game warden.

    National Park is Federal Jurisdiction
No US attorney is going to waste time on you
    is it illegal? probably
will anyone do anything? probably not.
Forget the concept of the rule of law, you should evaluate everything based on political considerations

I wouldn't recommend posting videos of you shooting guns out of a car window.

ill leave the legality to the warden/rangers. if they say yes it falls on them (record my phone calls)

roosevelt-arapaho national forests allow target shooting as long as the target isnt wood-backed.

Firearms are restricted from federal buildings which include ranger posts, warden posts, and national forest welcome centers.

"Is it legal to carry a weapon in Colorado National Forests?
While visiting National Forests in Colorado, you may carry a weapon. However, in addition to state laws, you must comply with Federal Regulations pertaining to the use of a firearm on National Forest System lands.

A firearm may not be discharged in the following National Forest areas:

              1. Within 150 yards of a residence, building, campsite, developed recreation site, or occupied area; or
              2. Across or on a Forest Development road or an adjacent body of water, or in any manner or place whereby any person or property is exposed to injury or damage as a result of such discharge; or
              3. Into or within any cave. [36 CFR 261.10 (d)]

Some forest or districts have additional restrictions on discharging a firearm. You are advised to check with the authorities in the areas you will be visiting."
