This just happened and now I understand why people say that Safety on kills a lot more people than Safety off
>going to sleep
>10 minutes in bed
>listen two steps outside of my window, where my backyard is
>hear something hit a barbecue frill
>get my 92fs under my pillow
>round in the chamber, dewienered BUT with the Safety on so my mom doesn't have a ND when cleaning my room
>pull my curtain and point at the backyard
>just a cat
>put the gun down
Realize that I forgot to turn the Safety off and wouldn't be able to shoot if it was an armed thief and could die for having a gun in a useless state in my hands.
Frick, thankfully this cat just showed me a fatal flaw in my security, that mistake could have costed my life.
>I'm moronic/paranoid so safety features must be bad
Good thread.
Fictional scenarios within fictional scenarios.
You are a moron anon. Your safety should always be on, for the betterment of humanity.
I forgot to turn the Safety off during a mildly stressful situation, imagine if it was extremely stressful?
I am human, I am prone to mistakes specially under stress, and I live in a third world country where home invasion is very common AND my neighborhood is suffering from home invasions lately.
If you actually trained with your gun and used it, flicking the safety off is an instinctual part of the drawing and holstering motion.
Yeah this. OP is gay
The remedy to those kinds of mistakes is to train more. Leaving the safety off on a gun under the pillow just means you are more likely to shoot your head off in your sleep.
For OP, this could be a good thing though. The world can always stand to lose a moron
When I was in the police academy in the 90’s they showed us a pic of some Californian cop killed in a convenience store robbery with his safety still on. I’ll stick with a DA/SA dewienerer or Glock.
>Your safety should always be on
>not every pistol has a safety
This is the glaring flaw in your logic
I'm white (not OP) but I still live with mummy and daddy
It's a good way to save up and I'd rather by land and build on it than rent
>I'd rather by land and build on it than rent
Wouldn't we all?
Is your mom hot? Do you have any pictures of her feet?
>old enough to own a gun
>mum still cleans room
sounds like he's some kind of Hispanic so it checks out, i think the norm is to live in a massive family unit until you marry and start your own little massive enclave
>round in the chamber, dewienered BUT with the Safety on so my mom doesn't have a ND when cleaning my room
6/10 made me reply
>try to fire gun
>gun doesn't fire
>flick off safety
>fire
>Realize that I forgot to turn the Safety off
Instead of buying a new gun for a hardware solution to a software problem, have you considered putting in 50 reps every other day to move turning the safety off into unconscious competence? If you must spend money, it is a DA/SA gun, so changing the pistol to a G model is also an option.
>be me and five friends
>load round, spin cylinder, play Russian roulette
>first three hit empty chamber
>my turn
>gulp.png
>put it up to my temple
>pull the trigger
>*click*
>empty chamber, thank frick
>my friend is next
>puts gun to temple
>pussies out in the middle of trigger pull
>too late
>destroys his frontal lobe
Now he’s a drooling moron that’s stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of life, shitting and pissing into bags hung off the side.
Moral of the story: never pussy out half way
Yeah but enough of OP's lifestory.
Or, get this, you could just train on that weapon platform. Heard two loud bangs coming from upstairs with no one else home, grabbed my M&P9 2.0, chambered a round, and flicked off the safety in all under 1 second. How? Because when I am bored, I sit there and play with my handgun until I am super comfortable with it, and then I play with it even more.
That's why you should stick to the simple, no frills barbecue. It's for cooking jump-scaring cats.
It's too bad your father forgot the safety and had an ND the night you were conceived.
if you were a real man you'd sleep with two guns under your pillow
I have two guns right here. Flexes open rp
>Realize that I forgot to turn the Safety off and wouldn't be able to shoot if it was an armed thief and could die for having a gun in a useless state in my hands.
Eh, maybe. But a thief would more likely have run anyway.
A cop, on the other hand...
Wait, hold the frick up. We're missing the fact this homie heard a cat walking.
might have been the THUMP THUMP of front feet and back feet landing. then the cat, being an butthole, jostles the 'frill' for shits and giggles.
I am not complaining about the safety, that's great, the problem is that it should be switched off for me.
Yes I live in Latin America, shit this place is dangerous.
I heard the cat walking because my backyard is coved in lots of small pebbles.
No I am not paranoid, you fricks who live in safe country can't understand how things work down here.
Your fatal mistake wasn't the safety, it was your low IQ. They have serrations on the slide rear because it's an indicator to where your hand goes homosexual.
Dewienerer gays are insufferable and I wish they would just ND already.
