This, every single russian missile strike ever fired has missed its target and ukraine has taken no losses.

This Ukrainians are just switching all their lights out and taking cold showers to fool the Russians into believing their drones weren’t all intercepted by air defense systems.

We've literally had this kind of drone technology since at least the late 80s, 40 years ago. This is literally an example of something that people literally just didn't think of, or try to do.
Is it effective? Looks like it. It seemd to me that it exists in that frustrating middle ground where small arms fire is ineffective and dedicated AA is overkill

Gepards work really well against them, evidenced by decreased success from them.

Still, airdefense has limited range, and if you program enough weird routes to stationary targets such as power plants, they will get some use. Militarily, not so much effect though.

Any footage of them used against military targets on the front?

nope. Only stationary targets. They are preprogrammed, so if you move stuff, they miss.

It's not particularly effective considering they're slow, capable of being shot down by any SPAAG or MANPAD, and have CEP measured in city blocks. They work by virtue of saturation, which isn't very efficient against a land mass the size of Ukraine possessing layered air defence. In context of their manufacturer, they's designed as a low-tech compliment to a missile barrage against military bases, Saudi oil refineries, and Israeli cities where just hitting the target can cause disruptions.

They've also used them on civilian ships in port. It's more of a tantrum weapon than a terror weapon.

I‘ve seen them hit individual transformer units/sub distribution stations. Don’t fool yourself. Radar or IR detection is barley possible and certainly no lock on. Once there is any fog or low clouds the visual systems are blind. They are slow and loud, but very dangerous.

I wonder what would happen if chinks took this concept and engineeredmaxxed the frick out of the design, and produced it at an industrial scale.Imagine a million of these things hitting every mildly valuable target in Taiwan.
If they can be made for under 5k a pop, then you'd win the economic war of attrition even if they get shot down by a missile or airbursting AA. It would be so cheap you could use them against basic infrastructure, or even small shops.

Considering their cost and spice and all that they are extremely effective. Problem is that they are not an overall game changer. Still, they'll teach other countries a lesson about cheaper options for strike packages.

Honestly probably one of the dumbest moves by Iran so far.
They exploited a defense flaw that modern militraries had due to aircraft moving to high and fast flight plus being limted and expensive becoming the standard.
They are easy to counter but no one bothered trying due to not enough threat to be worth the investment so now the time window to exploit that vulnerability is known and is closing.
So now they blew thier trump card and by the time they actually need them everyone will probably have deployed hard and cheap counters IE SHORAD gun systems.

    Yes, they're successful.

They're meant to be used in swarms, with some making it through and hitting their target. It's not too dissimilar to firing artillery, most of which miss. Unlike artillery, these work by satellite navigation so they're far more efficient and obviously have better range. Even those that get shot down cost valuable air defense ammo.

You can tell they're successful by the sheer amount of butthurt they cause.
