self propelled black powder artillery

seeing as how important artillery is on the modern battlefield im thinking about buying a black powder cannon/howitzer/mortar and mounting it to a rototiller motoblok like pic related as a self propelled motor gun carriage
i think mounting it with a mortar or howitzer for shoot and scoot would be best
also black powder coehorn mortars are only like $400-$900

the gun/mortar could be mounted ontop of a spinning table in the bed of the trailer for full 360 degree fire arc

and with a 3 inch ordinance rifle or 10 pounder parrot you could reliably knock out many thin skinned armored vehicles

arent there some trailers with built in suspension
i could see needing that with the bp mortar since the force would go down straight into the trailer

were looking at a range of what like 6 kilometers is that worth it?

      Anonymous

This is the range of a proper large caliber mortar. I don't think BP mortar with 2 inches of barrel can throw that far.

i was talking about the rifled guns mortars i think would be around 1km even shorter
man someone needs to design a bp mortar in modern form

how many men would it take to realistically run this thing?

In a perfect world, there will be no tax stamp on people arming themselves.

Considering what you'd actually spend to shoot any artillery piece, why would the $200 DD tax even be something to worry about? Proper full size US civil war era artillery was burning at least 1/2 pound of powder per shot, or about $15 in powder alone at today's prices, with most of it in the 1-2 lb range which comes to $30-$60 in powder per shot. Modern full power (ie not the reduced range practice stuff with a max range of ~550 meters) 60mm practice shells set the government back $138 a piece (17 years ago, so they'll cost more today) and are not reusable.

How much can one of those tow? The carriages those were mounted on weren't light and weighed about as much as the artillery pieces.

Wouldn't the projectiles fly a little too slow to hit an armored vehicle at a distance and how will you carry enough ordinance to do enough damage with those?

I think weapomizing cheap drones with pipe bombs and other homemade explosives as well and learning how to make drone swarms is more useful.

The only way I can see them used against an armored vehicle is if they're set up somewhere in advance waiting for the armored vehicle to enter a kill zone.

OP idea is ludicrious, but i want to point out that you have to think about the recoil and how the suspension will be hammered.
