screw identification

I need more of these screws, but I dont know what keywords to use when searching for them.

The threading doesnt matter much because its to be self-tapping into plastic, but the thickness(?) of the screw is 2.2mm, the length 10mm, and the head 4mm. It's a philips, but i can go hex head if need. This screw is from an old toy that I need more of.

I'm really interested in why you think anyone could tell what that fricking blob is

Which is why i labeled the measurements. Its the best I could come up with for the resources i have. I figured the measurements were the most important part anyway.

Just take it to a hardware store and find something similar, why did you need a thread for this

Most hardware stores dont go this small. Theyre home improvement stuff, and they dont go really small for tiny projects and electronics. I figured ordering online would be my best bet for getting these screws, but i dont know the keywords or search types i need to find them.

        >it's a fricking screw
        All screws are the same?
        >how much more detail do you fricking need you cuck
I dont know the terminology for the different types of screws. Which is why I am asking so I can search for them on websites and shop around.

First of all why are you losing screws in the first place?

Second of all why is this screw so important? You can probably get away with adhesive.

Third you're going to pay out the ass to order a single tiny screw. Take a look through the old electronics around your house or go to a thrift store with the aim to do some kit bashing.

        >First of all why are you losing screws in the first place?
I'm not. I just need more of these. Im doing a project and these are the perfect type of screw, i just dont know how to search for them.
        >Second of all why is this screw so important? You can probably get away with adhesive.
Screw works best for the material and type of project i will be working with. It will have more durability and less mess than an adhesive.
        >Third you're going to pay out the ass to order a single tiny screw. Take a look through the old electronics around your house or go to a thrift store with the aim to do some kit bashing.
I dont want a single screw, I want to order a good amount of these, I just dont know what search terms i need for getting this type.

That helps, thank you. However it does not answer the question on other things. Does the length include the head? I can measure the outside edge of the threads, and is that diameter the thread? I just need to make sure I'm ordering the right size of screw and I'm not sure the terms and measurements. I took out my calipers to measure what I put in the OP image.

              >Does the length include the head?
i find that in general things called 'screws' the length will include the head, whereas things called 'bolts' the length does not include the head.
i have also noticed nobody will ever explain this to you and you will never see written down or taught, its something you just have to find out yourself.

If a screw is pointed it's generally one of two main types, a wood screw or a sheet metal screw.
Either may work in any particular appication or with another material, you can Google the differences yourself, and the variations available for each. FWIW just because a pointy screw screws into a hole doesn't really make it "self tapping", that's a specific feature of some sheet metal screws.

The head of the one in your crappy pic is made to be countersunk, the specified length will be from the widest point of the conical part of the head to the tip.
It's impossible to tell if the head is flat or oval, but bottom line is that any screws length is measured from the threaded end to where the head normally rests on the surface of whatever its screwed into. If the head sits on the surface like with round, truss, pan, and hex heads, the part that protrudes above that isn't counted as length.

        For real.
Often PrepHole delivers interesting valuable knowledge on these posts that start with a terribly stupid question.

Did the screw commit a crime? Why is it blurred.
