the entire movie was just cope and sneedthe from reformoids.

Instead of making a new IFV, they should just modernize the Bradley. New components, engine, gears, etc made of modern alloys. You'd save tons and tons right there.

Why? Materials haven't advanced enough to justify it. Plus, the old systems are mature and all of the bugs worked out of them. Replacing it with new stuff just means you have to start the development and troubleshooting cycle all over again. Not to mention that putting a suitable in-production I6 (like an ISX or C15) into a hole designed for the VT903 V8 is going to be a major challenge.
Unless there is a shortage of spares for the old powertrains there is no point in working up a replacement.

Apparently, the movie missed the entire point of the book, which wasn't that the Bradley was bad but that DOD testing procedures were ineffective.

The Army testing procedures actually made a lot of sense, but try explaining that to an air force pencil pusher with an axe to grind.
      >waaaah why aren't we obliterating fully loaded brads with anti-tank weapons
      >because we already know it'll destroy the IFV, and we won't get any useable data about vulnerabilities if there's nothing left of it
      >WAAAAH YOU'RE TRYING TO CHEAT

the point of the book was to grind his axe against the DoD out of petty revenge for cancelling the blitzfighter

Everyone knew the Bradley was an amazing light tank since Desert Storm. Problem is, it was supposed to carry infantry.

      >muh light tank
funny, that's not at all what it was meant to be from the start, because from the very beginning it had a crew compartment and a turret

the M3 bradley actually saw more service than the M2 at first, because the M113 TOW was seen as hilariously obsolete while the M551 sheridan was on its last legs
but the M113s deficiency in mech units wasnt seen as nearly as crippling, they could still do their job

so for the first half of the 80s, the bradley really was primarily a light tank because cav units had priority

funny, Russia has by far the best reserve biplane. The I-15 Bis is comically OP compared to the Peashooter, Ki-10s, etc

why would you do that to yourself

to be fair, its easier to grind top tier now since they capped RP costs and increased RP rewards

but BR is currently whack, wouldnt recommend getting the M3 brad right now
at 8.3, its got lower BR than some M60s, and 2 BR lower than the lowest M1
its only really useful in realistic battle, where you can abuse the guided missile and thermal sight combo, which means you arent capping

          Yukari

they didn't increase RP rewards, sorry to tell you. They slightly reduced the length of the grind by putting some redundant vehicles in folders and reducing the XP cost of vehicles in folders.
