Because I'm a moronic pedant, it has always irked me that somebody connects the largely exticnt natives with the current mix of anglos, saxons, celts, norse, other norse, germanics, more norse, more germanics, romans, fricking dacians and iberians and worst of all - franks.

    >losing to small island in the Atlantic?

Russia isn't losing. Russia is simply fighting smart. Already Britian is suffering in the form of high energy and food prices, and this is just the begining of Russia's economic retaliation. When mineral exports to Britan, like Aluminum, Titanium and Nickel are cut off, British industry will enter a death spiral. Hopefully the british chimpouts in Ukraine, the Baltic and Crimea were worth it though.

This guy is right, when you think about it, Britan is a small island, withiout large deposits of natural resources. If a major exporter, like Russia decides to cut them off, they will have to seek resources eleseware, and likley pay higher prices, which translate into more expensive manufatured products. This, coupled with the leaving the EU means that British products will be less competitive in international markets which does not bode well for british industry.

Manufacture is the core of an economy. The alleged number is small only because of low prices, but without that manufacture you also dont have the trade, logistics, finance, research, educational and associated real estate sectors needed to have that manufacture. A lot more money is made from a product than some factory profit.

          Anonymous

Something similar can be said about the enery market, its small as a % of the economy yet absolutely nothing gets done with it.
Most of the economy is just extracting value from the resources and manufacture sectors, which do all the work while getting very little pay.

If anything this war has shown the Bongs are not too be fricked with. They have been interfered with and humiliated by Russia multiple times in the last 20 years. They have waited, chosen their moment and stuffed the knife in deep. As the vatnik cries out in pain the knife is twisted. An amateur reading of history sees the Brit as weak and wonders how they ever got an empire. The answer is the bong (the ones who pull the strings at least) doesn't care for glory or self aggrandisement, in fact it is distasteful when taken too far. They will doff their cap, make self deprecating jokes about their inability to strike back and then carefully put the downfall of their enemies into place.

      Buy wood for DIY
Buy aluminium, steel and titanium at work

Wood prices have gone up alot, but actually haven't - they just haven't dropped from covid levels. All major wood importers have Russia statements as they made up something like 30% of the market.

Stainless has gone up for the last 3 years, I think due to worldwide pressure not Russia.
Aluminium has barely been affected. China holds alot of these stocks.

Titanium has skyrocketed as well as some other pressure metals, but alot of uses don't allow Russia or Chinese titanium anyway. Tbh the price of titanium may have trebled, but actually the massive downturn in the UK economy mean that the exports we make with it have just stayed at the same price whilst everywhere else has gone thru the roof.

The issue is a shit ton of LNG tankers unable or unwilling to dump their gas for low prices and are just sitting there waiting, crashing the prices.

          >just sitting there waiting, crashing the prices
          Wouldn't that push up prices?
It's probably the opposite in that LNG tankers are having to get rid of their LNG for low prices because LNG boils off at a pretty high rate. Plus LNG sitting in a tanker is wasted money for the shipping companies too, they only make money when the tankers are moving

People over here want Putin dead. It would be political suicide to go soft on Russia. Don't forget the european mainland isn't far away and the UK public are used to seeing eurofigters intercepting russian bombers every other week in the press for the last few years, as well as assassinations on our soil. I don't think there's any appetite for anything other than fricking russia as hard as possible. The idea we were behind the naval attack is vaguely popular; the only effect that line of propaganda has is potentially pride.

Putin can't die yet. If he drops, they will come up with another KGB c**t who will make some superficial reforms and agree to some concessions and the war will be over soon only to restart in a couple of years when puccia gets back on its feet.
Putin needs to live as long as possible, because as long as he's alive, he will not withdraw from Ukraine, sanctions and rampant corruption will stay in place and puccian economy will continue to nosedive.

Simple, we Anglos are cursed with the burden of eternal success. We succeeded so hard that people made up entire political movements in our homes to try to get us to win less so that everyone else wouldn't feel too bad. We succeed so much that Britain had to break its own economy in the most moronic way possible and go through several leadership crises just to keep things sporting for the rest of the world. Just wait until the next step though, when we paradrop Boris Johnson into Moscow with orders to impregnate every Russian woman (yes, including the babushkas) just because it will be kind of hilarious to see the next generation all get born with moronic grins and uncontrollable blonde hair.

Thinking that the UK lost the war of 1812 is the most low IQ take possible. The US started the war and achieved none of its aims. By default that means the UK won what was a defensive war for them. It went so badly for the US they couldn't even defend their capital.

      Anonymous

      >less scary target
You're clueless. Nothing to do with 'scary target'. Russia has a long standing conspiracy theory that the British ran Russia as a colony for centuries and the UK always tried to crush any chance Russia had of being great (Great Game, Crimean War, Napoleonic War etc). So this is ingrained in the entire mindset.

We don't rely on Russian gas, wind and solar account for over 50% of our gas consumption and the rest is mostly north sea oil.
      >Why are British people paying out the ass for energy then?
The issue around pricing is mostly due to dumb Thatcherism thinking selling off our natural resources would be a good 'market driven' decision. Tories have sold everything they can that isnt nailed down and left us in a very shitty position regarding domestic industry. Offshoring things is okay if you're a giant like America that can still actively produce things on your continent sized country, for a small island with barely any resources its a terrible idea, we should have done what Norway did with theirs.
