Russian troops ordered into random field with no commanders, no training, and no ammo.

Russian soldiers drafted to fight in Ukraine say they have no ammo, no commanders, and don't know what they are doing on the battlefield.

After training, the men said, "it turns out that we're somewhere in the fields of Ukraine and they just threw us out into the field like dogs," according to The Insider.

They also said they were only equipped with uniforms and were given some AK-47s and bayonets – but no ammunition.

"There is no information, no command, we're on pins and needles, as we don't know where our people are and where [the enemy] is," one man said in the video, The Insider reported.

"No radio, no ammo, not a fricking thing. No medical supplies either," he added. "I'd like to show this to our authorities ... Do you consider this normal?"

I'd like to ask what the hell were the Russians thinking when they did this, but the truth is they probably weren't.

I imagine someone got out one of the territory maps we've been using to follow the frontlines, said "Da, veez eez Reed Corn-tree" and just left them there because they were told to bring them to the Russian frontline and they did.

70% are obese OR OVERWEIGHT. Overweight in population statistics means BMI > 25, obese means BMI > 30. So 70% of the population has BMI > 25 and 24% has BMI > 30.

            Anonymous

While it's true that Mexico is also up there among the fatter countries, you're largely bullshitting.
The obesity rate in America is over 36%. Mexico's 29%. France for comparison is at 21%, Italy just under 20%. So America is about twice as obese as Italy.
And that's just BMI > 30, which is still relatively slim (indeed, healthy fit or plump people could still technically register as obese by that criteria) America has many times more of the superfat, the true landwhales, than France or Italy got.

This is why when you just walk around the streets in France or Italy, you might see plenty of plump and rotund people (mostly the elderly), but you're not going to see too many of the deformed barely mobile sagging sacks of blubber who seem to be everywhere in the US. The tail end of the curve matters a lot.

But the U.S. didn't annex the entire country and only annex territory up to the rio grande. Even during the height of American expansion, the U.S. did not seek to annex the entire Mexican state.

Literally in all of those places the local Mexicans sided with the Americans because Mexico was so shit. If you look at the "Bear Flag Revolt" in California, it was like fifty dudes walking to the head of the Mexican army in California, who told them he wanted to surrender and join the USA. The only real battle was a company of Mexican troops and some drunk American rebels shooting each other at night with basically no casualties.

Anon we 1000% annexed chunks of Mexico, we straight up fought them over it in a war we largely are responsible for starting. We picked that fight, exploited the ambiguity of the Texas-Mexico border from the previous Tejas-Mexico independence treaty, and then we won largely due to Mexico's mismanagement of its military at the time (combined with a healthy performance by American leaders like Taylor, Lee, and Grant).

And no, we aren't giving it back.

The border states were never really interested to be part of Mexico, even today most of our resources are localized to Mx city and below.

The US legally purchased those states after capturing our moron president who thought frontline fighting was the place of the guy with the authority to do anything. Obv he got captured and forced to sell the states so we couldn't claim them back later. Not that it would be good for anyone

Despite the lower numbers (these are a few thousand), I would be worried if I was Putin and Luka. This is pretty much how the Revolution got started. Mutineers became the core of the Red Army.

It's even more so a risk for the oligarchs. The elite in Russia survived the Tsar getting the boot, but then the mutineers gave the communists the power to take total control 8 months later.

This is actually my favourite Russian incompetence headline so far and there is a lot to choose from
"Russian soldiers drafted to fight in Ukraine say they have no ammo, no commanders, and don't know what they are doing on the battlefield.

The claim came from a six recently-drafted men in a video circulated on Telegram, which featured in a report by the independent Russian outlet The Insider.

(The Insider is a Russian news outlet and has no affiliation with Insider.)

In the footage complained directly to the Russian Ministry of Defense about their lack of direction and equipment.

The group, per the report, said they were from Russia's Krasnodar region and had been called up towards the beginning of the mobilization announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 21.

Insider was unable to independently verify the video.

The report comes more than a month after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization of his country's military reservists.

      Anonymous

It tallies with other reports pointing to poor training and equipment issues among mobilized Russians.

Marina Miron, an honorary research fellow at the Centre for Military Ethics at King's College London, told Insider's Sinead Baker last week it was likely that "some of those mobilized have been sent to Ukraine without any guidance or training whatsoever."

Last week, Putin said that around 16,000 mobilized men had already made it into combat in Ukraine. Many experts have concluded the men are effectively being used as cannon fodder.

Lack of equipment is also an issue in the Russian military, with one draftee telling The Guardian last week that he was made to buy his own gear.

"They gave us absolutely no equipment. The army has nothing," the draftee told The Guardian."

Look on the bright side, the Russian economy will be dead in the water by winter
    https://fortune.com/2022/09/26/russian-economy-die-by-winter-says-economist-vladislav-inozemtsev-putin-mobilization/

    >Now, Russian economist Vladislav Inozemtsev, the director of Moscow-based think tank the Center for Research on Post-Industrial Studies, is warning that Putin’s mobilization will have “truly catastrophic consequences,” including the death of the Russian economy and the downfall of Putin’s regime.

    >“The Russian economy is going to die by winter, I wrote in early March. Now I think I was right. The mobilization announced on Sept. 21 was a milestone that really divided Russian history into ‘before’ and ‘after’—an event that began the final countdown of Putin’s era,” the economist wrote on Sunday for Russian publication The Insider.

I don't see them stopping at all, they'll just keep them being raised and processed by the ever dutiful agents that just need to make their quota for the week/month or whatever its guided by. Not like the Russian's are going to know when it ends either, there could be a million raised and they'd still be just churning through everyone from students to grandpas as its not like they're told anything otherwise.
        >TV says still doing conscription
        >Then its still doing conscription
Apparently the eastern provinces don't have a set of balls for miles and they're just depleting entire towns.
Which is fine by me, my sympathy for Russia is dead a long time ago and I also have no sympathy for the drafted because they chose not to be political, so they're getting what they deserve.

Though the whole moronic part of my brain which is still a bit military is just wondering why you'd subject a logistics chain already fricked up beyond belief into shipping 'live meat' with no training or gear that will effectively also further burden whatever exists of supply lines.

Get a load of this HATO propaganda, that field was specifically chosen because it was expected to be outside of HIMARS range, every day they will be moved 1km closer to the front and by the end of the month Russia will know the true range of HIMARS and plan accordingly.
