How to get even drunker
Can the Irish outdrink the Slav?
In my experience, I've seen the Paddies outdrink the Ivans, but all my experiences are with upper middle class types. Perhaps blue collar Russians outdrink blue collar Irish.
Like with everything, russian tolerance for alcohol is greatly exaggerated
So why in the middle of a war when their resources are strained are they doing this for the second time. remember Ireland is neural, they can attack Ireland with impunity and there is nothing NATO can do.
>remember Ireland is neural, they can attack Ireland with impunity and there is nothing NATO can do
In theory, so were Ukraine.
What happens if there is a Russian backed coup in Ireland? They have two crazy pro Russian MEPs, Clare Doyle and Mick Wallace.
That's a big if. Russian meddling in general in the West is more of an annoyance than a coup threat.
>That's a big if. Russian meddling in general in the West is more of an annoyance than a coup threat.
They played both side in Northern Ireland, Russians were active in funding and networking both the UDA/UVF (and are today) and the INLA/OIRA
Ireland suddenly finds its army bolstered by a brigade or two of brawny fellas that hate being photographed and all have accents nobody can quite place locale and the Russkies get 1922'd out of the place.
Ireland's neutrality is an illusion, even during WW2 they were feeding info to the Allies and impounding German aircraft. Their continued legislative independence is entirely dependent on not being any sort of threat to the UK and they know it.
No, that would hate Ireland to Russia on a plate, British troops anywhere near the Republic would swing the population instantly in favour of anyone else. All the Russians would have to do is run them guns. Any British military intervention in the Republic would result in handing Ireland to Russia and those troops being lost.
Depends on how overt the Russian interference is and how overt the British assistance against it would be. There were plans in WW2 for British and American assistance to be rendered in the event of a Nazi invasion; any Russian backed coup aimed at installing a Lukashenko type would immediately devolve into violence with the pro-democracy forces being backed by the UK/US. Outside the internet there's not a lot of hate any more outside your usual pub loons, there have even been some port visits to Ireland by British ships recently which went swimmingly apart from an aggreived loudmouth or two (that russian sponsored anti-vax reporter comes to mind)
Read the first bit again, the Brits would be lending resources on the quiet for a counter-coup and a potential repeat of the civil war, not pulling a Russian style overt invasion.
As I said, the status quo suits both Britain and Ireland well enough, the second Ireland starts to be a threat to the UK however that all breaks down, as it has multiple times in history. To say otherwise is to misunderstand the nuace of British-Irish relations and unironically buy into the grade school narrative that "big bully britain invaded poor wee ireland for multiple times for no reason, what a bunch of meanies"
>Their continued legislative independence is entirely dependent on not being any sort of threat to the UK and they know it.
Nonsense, even Churchill knew that trying to control a population with a large element prepared to kill. and die was an unwinnable situation. What are you trying to do re-enact the Russians invading Ukraine but with British troops in the Irish Republic? The whole British army is less than 1000,000. There are 5 million people in the Republic and roughly 400,000 privately owned firearms legal and illegal, and the government has an active and reserve stockpile of 90,000 firearms. The whole British army could vanish there without a trace.
>The whole British army is less than 100,000.
Typo, actually probably nearer 75,000 these days. It took 25,000 troops permanently stationed to control six counties in northern Ireland where 50% of the population supported them. How are they going to control 28 counties including a few cities where 100% of the population are against them?
The dangerous thing about this post is that there are still British people dumb enough to make it.
Based on how poorly their war is going, it must somehow be related to the mythical "luck of the Irish"

No one knows what they are up to over there, so the UN mandates regular reconnaissance patrols.
It was just the Russians turn, this would have been scheduled more than a year ago.

This. The UN security council has an explicit obligation to ensure Ireland stays neutral and disarmed forever. Each council member takes it in turns to monitor Ireland.
wtf Ireland is an elected member of the United Nations Security Council for a two year term which began on 1 January 2021.
Keeping their friends close, and their enemies closer.
Ireland started WW1. They deserve to be disarmed for that alone.
Russia has no potato
Maybe Ireland has potato?
russia has potato
must be something else
You can't talk about the potato, potato will be fine in 2 seasons
How do you fail at farming potatoes, it's literally the easiest vegetable to grow, the fricking thing grows on itself if you look away for 5 seconds
To be fair the Irish themselves couldnt do it in the 19th century. Potato blight is a killer
So you're telling me modern Russian agriculture is on par with 19th Century Ireland's?
McDs fries require a specific kind of potatoes that Russia doesn't grow right now
Potato expert here. The type of potato used to make mcdonalds fries was imported to Russia.

>How do you fail at farming potatoes, it's literally the easiest vegetable to grow, the fricking thing grows on itself if you look away for 5 seconds
True. I peeled a potato, found that it was bad on the inside, then threw it in the compost. Half a year later, I could harvest potatoes from the compost, all stemming from that single, mangled and peeled potato I tossed.
how the frick do you frick up potatoes
Bik Mek now with the new Cabbage Fry,
>all those potatoes in China
Do the bugmen even eat potatoes? I can't think of a single chinese dish that contains potato
>Potatoes have been planted throughout China since their introduction 400 years ago. They have become the main staple food for many Chinese people, especially in the remote mountainous regions. Through the years, different regions have developed different cooking methods for this highly versatile vegetable.
just variants of stir fried & sauté potato, or veggie soup from ribs, potato, carrot and stuffs
we bugmen here eat them as vegetable rather than staple food
Can you provide any examples of dishes that contain them? I'm genuinely curious as I just cannot picture chinky food with potatoes in it
>Can you provide any examples of dishes that contain them?
I really like this dish, it's a Sichuan streetfood.
Basically cottage fries with chilli. Stir-fry some potatoes until crispy, add some onions and garlic and fry a bit more, toss in chilli oil, dust with chilli powder and dress with scallions. Serve in a paper cup with a bamboo skewer to eat on the street, you see it sold outside metro stations and stuff. Especially in the morning as people are going to work.

Another dish that's super common at restaurants, cafeterias and school lunches everywhere in China is stir-fried shredded potato. It's just potatoes cut as matchsticks like small french fries,stir-fried and lightly seasoned and served on a plate.
>crispy
I guess its ok for potatoes, but I hate it when seemingly everything in chinese cuisine is 'crispy'.
>I can't think of a single chinese dish that contains potato
That's a failure of research and imagination on your part. There's lots of spuds in Chinese cuisine.
Aside from the obvious of french fries, which are often coated with a dusting of sugar and served in banquet meals, there's a tonne of Chinese dishes using potato, they're mostly used as a starchy root vegetable like Yams, you see them in stir-fries as scallops or in soups in chunks.
There's a form of mashed potato mixed with aubergine and crushed garlic that's an Inner Mongolian dish (but the Han cuisine of Inner Mongolia, not the Mongolian cuisine).
t. lived in China for a few years
did u eat the bugs
>french fries, which are often coated with a dusting of sugar and served in banquet meals

Yeah, I never got the appeal but it's a thing. Encountered it in Vietnam too.

>Russia like potato
>Ireland like potato
coincidence? Or maybe there is deeper hidden meaning...
The sailors want to get captured by tall Irish women who will proceed to CBT them with their feet.
How tall are they? I'm not Russian but I'm only 5'8".
I know one who is 6' 3"
>inb4 all this Russian bs causes Ireland to join NATO in the next decade
Nobody's given you a straight answer yet, but the tl;dr is because they're an easy target.
All of their tax haven shenanegans over the past few decades has meant that a whole bunch of datacentres relocated from the EU and UK. A lot of transatlantic communications infrastructure goes through Irish waters as a result and because they flat out refuse to spend any money on defence Russians can happily infiltrate telecoms infrastructure and tap the frick out of the sea floor cabling unimpeded.
Sprinkle a bit of me_ira horseshit into the mixer via Tiktok and Facebook so the population stay hostile to the concept of the UK helping police the waters and airspace and you have a great Russian recipe for easy intelligence gathering.
OP here, thanks for the answer. That makes a lot more sense than all this nonsense about the Vatniks trying to steal Irish potato recipes.
why are you on /k/, there's like 4 different major crises
Love the way you skip that they started ww1 and the UN security council has a charter to ensure Ireland stays disarmed and
neutral forever or it has to be sunk
You can't sink Ireland. It is an island that is not how the UN charter on Ireland works either, each of the nuclear veto powers except the UK agree that they will nuke Ireland if it invades India.
No one cares about India except the Chinese. Not even Indians. The Irish will not invade it again.
I have a credibility gap when it comes to Irish using computers. The Irish dig holes with shovels and dance for coins and became obsolete when earth movers were invented.

Huge mystery 'submarine' spotted off Irish coast by shocked beach goers
'You rarely see boats in the area but I had to look twice at this before realising it was a submarine'
A man out for a summer stroll on a County Donegal beach has told of his shock at seeing a suspected submarine off the coastline.
Ryan Nolan was walking on Nairn Beach near Portnoo on Saturday afternoon last with his five-year-old daughter Lena.
The Cavan man knows the area well as his wife's family have a holiday home nearby and they spend a lot of time there.
But he was left shocked just before 3pm when he noticed what he first thought was just a boat in the distance. However, to his shock he soon noticed it looked like a submarine.
He managed to snatch a picture of the suspected submarine using his phone. The vessel can be seen to the right of the lifeguard's flag in the picture.
He said: "I know the area well and I have never seen anything like this. You rarely see boats in the area but I had to look twice at this before realising it was a submarine.
"It was my daughter Lena who drew my attention to it. She initially thought it was a 'ghost ship.'
"It's not the greatest picture in the world as I only had the phone on my camera but I know what I saw on the day.
"It was only when I read the report of the sighting by another person that it all made sense to me then.
"I'd say I watched it for about ten minutes before it disappeared behind the land. It was a very eerie thing to watch."
Ryan's report matched the exact time another beach-goer, a man out surfing on nearby Dooey Beach, also made a report of seeing the vessel.
The origins of the vessel, and the reason for surfacing, are not known. NATO currently do not have any exercises running in the area.
