This is after Russia has for the first time called this a war officially. Means they're preparing for the last phase of the conflict and future clash against NATO, now is when shit gets real.

Russians are so broken by this point they'll mostly only be able to whine impotently and maybe drag their feet before the barrier troops club them in the back with their actually loaded rifles, pushing them to advance
And the barrier troops will gladly do it because it means not being the ones infront, they'd rather inflict cruelty on others for a laughably temporary reprive than think of actually fighting for their own freedom.

How many of these troops will be actual western russians, and how many will be picked up from satellite towns in siberia or recruiting tours in kazakhstan or mongolia or whereverthefrick

          Anonymous

They were already having trouble rounding up Siberian and mongoloid morons, so much so they've just emptied the prisons (sounds like prisoners don't get a choice about joining anymore) and stopped sending any prisoners home completely, plus massive investment in trafficking foreign "workers" who are then forced into the army as fodder. The willing ones are dead or crippled. Nothing left for ziggers to do but recruit actual Black folk to do their dying so soft muscovite boy-toys won't have to die for monke.

          Anonymous

Much more than last time. If the Crocus attack proves to be a false flag, Putin may have ordered it to galvanise muscovites will before sending them to the front.

Surely this time Russia will be able to trade these new 300,000 lives for almost as much territory as the last 300,000 lives

            Anonymous

That's the best outcome for Russia and still very unlikely since the majority of their territorial gains comes from the initial invasion, where they took the world by surprise and tried to take the whole country..
If rhey really gained 15% territory for each 300k they sent to Ukraine, they'd be in Odessa today, they aren't and won't.

to bad prices are going up and your average russian household already spent a third of their income just on food in 22
to give you an idea in the EU was about 14-15% and in the USA 12-13% in 22
So every price hike on food is felt double in russia even without the ruble crashing

russians where spending 32,8% of food before the war.
With inflation, the ruble crashing and sanctions from it's main food import countries it has gone to about 40-45%.
Sadly getting better data isn't an option because you know the war.
if you add the cost of housing, heating ect the "free" part of your average russian household is all but gone by now.
Cutting back on food has started and certain staples are already hard to get like eggs.

How many did they already lost? 300k ?

Aren't we at the 3 rd or 4rth replenishment of the whole SMO army in like 2 yr?
With an approximate 3/1 to 4/1 loss ratio...
Did the vatniks already went past winter war/continuation war casualties for less than they won in Finland?

    Thread theme I guess

According to the lowest estimates (16k KIA+WIA in Avdeevka according to Murza) - it will take Russia about 450-500k KIA+WIA to occupy Kharkiv
According to more realistic estimates - probably ~1.5-2 million KIA+WIA

          Avdiivka loses: at least 16k
          Expected loses: more than 180k-200k

Plus it'll take years to accomplish this. The entire city will be rubble by the time they have it encircled.

Unfortunately, for every 3-5 dead Russians there is 1 dead Ukrainian. Unless the EU and the US get a grip and start giving the Ukrainian army what it needs in appropriate quantities, this ratio will remain in Russia's favor in the long run, simply because there are 35+ million Russian men aged 18-60 versus 7+ million Ukrainian men of the same ages.

Ukrainians should start thinking about evacuating their young population to the west bank of the Dnieper.

It isn't a feint, they can only attack in fairly limited directions. Russia can't push worth a shit too far past a railhead. See reports from Avdiivka, where Russian solders were complaining all water and food was being manually hauled the last few kilometers given lack of trucks and other transport. There is a reason why their "breakthough" is less than 7km. Add that much to your walk and see what happens.

I would be surprised if future researchers and historians regard the Ukraine invasion as one of the 21st centuries biggest frickups. The fact is this: Xi has told the army to be ready for a real war by 2027. By 2032 the Chinese demographic bomb is finally going off and they will be a LOT older, with a lot fewer spare men to throw into a grinder. The US is expected to have significant modernization stuff (hypersonics, b21) rolling out in the late 20s-early 30s. Worst Korea and Japan have their own naval overhauls and japanese hypersonics going on by 2027 too. Taiwan is pushing for its modernization to be done by the end of the decade as well. And Intel is expecting its new USA chip fabs to be running in the late 20s. Meaning China has a VERY tight schedule to take Taiwan and hold TSMC as some sorta global economic bargaining chip before Intel starts to take back its place, and the Chinese need to do it before 2032 or so unles they want to be throwing late20s early 30 year olds at the fight. And they certainly want to do it before the US whips out its NGAD/FCAS and B21 dick on the table, let alone have to also possibly contend with Japanese-stationed hypersonic weapons or ROK naval assets being able to reach China.

I am sure part of that plan involved a two-front attack, with Russia acting as a 2nd front to distract the US so both China and Russia got what they wanted—the Nine Dash Line/Taiwan and the former USSR states.

Now Russia has jumped the gun and Europe by the late 20s is going to be a much harder target even if the Americans largely ignore the front, because NATO is now basically at St. Petersburg’s border and the euro arms factories are rolling up again. Hell France and the UK are doing tests of their nuclear delivery systems… just in case.

Russia may have fricked up so bad that they may have fricked up their entire factional planning. At this point even if they take Ukraine, it will still mean it is bordering more NATO.

True, but theres a good decade probably before we get every B1 replaced by the b21. At which point the US will likely be fielding more stealth bombers than all other nations bombers on the planet combined (not that there are many places fielding bombers to begin with)

At this point they are probably hoping the next president will be wimpy on Asia and alliances. They can always wait till 2028 and then test a new president if they are nervous about the 2024 victor.

But by 2100 the UN predicts the Chinese population will be about half of what it is now, so they cant rest on their laurels unless they want to take the L and keep Taiwan as a internal propaganda point forever

You have a very poor understanding of the geopolitical issues. Focusing on Ukraine, Putin absolutely needs to secure the pipelines, either through physical conquest or by regime-change. So, Russia “winning” means Ukraine has been largely occupied or the Ukranian government collapses and a Russia-friendly government takes over (or they negotiate a treaty protecting their pipeline access but that’s unlikely). Russia NOT attempting the regime-change in 2022 and, after that failed, NOT trying to continue the hard way, WILL result in the Putin government being destroyed or at least severely degraded, Russian finances taking a devastating hit with no realistic hope of recovery and the dynasties built by Putin and his circle of oligarchs going into the garbage. It wouldn’t happen immediately, it would take a few decades for the effects to be fully felt, but their destruction would be all but certain if they failed to win in Ukraine one way or another.

        Anonymous

Oh i understand the pipelines. But turning your nation into even more of a gas station doesnt help their overall political goals, which they seem to talk about all the time as pushing NATO away while also clawing back chunks of the Soviet republics that left. Taking Ukraine helps with the latter, but its come at the extreme expense of the former seeing as one of two Russian cities of cultural importance (St. Petersburg) is now adjacent to Binland, a NATO member.

And for added measure, Europe seems to be doing ok without access to cheap Russian gas as is, and many are accelerating their green energy plans to avoid future vatnik spergout market shocks.

          Anonymous

The correct strategic play, of course, was to not be the world’s most hardcore petrostate. The fabulous energy wealth should have gone into developing a modern Russian economy, and not into building palaces, mega yachts, European villas and money laundering operations. But the reality of Russia’s situation and the reality of the Putin government is that both are super-reliant on the energy trade, and nothing can replace the European market. That was PRECISELY why the US aimed to cut it off from Russia and partner with Ukraine to develop those reserves as a replacement to begin with. If the US and US-aligned Ukraine gets their way then Ukraine will get rich off the European energy market and Russia — and, most importantly in terms of Russian decision-making, Putin’s government and his circle of oligarchs gets destroyed. It’s not just Putin and his “friends”; personally, it’s the dynasty they’ve built being inherited by their children as a sort of new Russian aristocracy — that’s why all the big oligarchs around Putin have stood so firmly by him even though the war caused them to lose the European market. From the their perspective the market was going to be lost anyway but this way they have a shot at wining, normalizing relations and taking the market back.

That's a lot of wishful thinking. Protip: TSMC and mcirochips aren't the one and only thing that China and the whole region have that is irreplaceable on the global market. And I love how the supposed Chinese demographic bomb just keeps getting moved farther into the future every couple years. People told me it'd explode any minute now over ten years ago already, and still jack shit is happening.

Also LMAO@mentioning the Nine Dash Line in this context, considering not only has Taiwan also rejected the international ruling on it, but their claims are actually even more extensive than those of the PRC.

Also, you're seeing a "faction" of China and Russia where none existed in the first place.

They have plenty of stockpiles and their industry has been ramping up massively so all of those heavily-degraded vehicles in storage are coming online in large numbers now or in the near future. They run the largest tank factory in the world. Lots of foriegn-owned automobile factories were sold to the Russian government for pennies during the great divestment of 2022 and the Russians are reportedly turning them into military factories. All the old Soviet factories are running at full titlt and a lot of new factories have been set up including large-scale assembly-line type setups. Russia this claims to be planning $400b in spending increases, and has been estimated to have spent $140b this year. They are are committing massively and will equip those troops one way or the other. I’m sure you’re starting to realize why the media has been getting doom-and-gloom over Ukraine’s aid recently — it’s becoming extremely urgent, they simply can’t handle the flood that incoming.

They will not be able to replace losses at anything close to the rate at which they are lost, but they CAN replace losses, and they are going to get a big boost in re-activated deeply mothballed vehicles. With their huge spending increase they’ll be able to put together something for the two new armies Woddy talked about. In terms of ammo we see them massively supplementing with Nork shells and whatever else they can buy from Iran — not to mention their reported big boost in domestic production recently. Ukraine is in serious trouble, the media isn’t lying to you,

            Anonymous

if they aren't replacing stuff quicker than they lose then they are going to just end up further and further in the hole of lacking hardware. It also means they are having to go to more and more degraded mothballed equipment which takes longer to refurbish. They might be getting more degraded at a slower rate than hoped but they are still being degraded

Yes. The same reason why Ukraine is sending ATVs, pickup trucks and even volunteer-made sheet metal jeeps to the front: a nation at war gets what they need any which way they can. The difference is that Russia spent $140b this year alone and is planning to spend an addition 400b.

Well they'll attempt to, by the time we get to that point (let's say 4 months to get all these guys to the border area where the Russian freedom legion has been attacking which i think is over), Russia is going to be even further degraded in terms of hardware like Tanks/IFVs/planes and that's assuming Ukraine listens to the US asking them to stop hitting refineries and they have enough fuel to get people that far.
And that itself is contingent on the Russian army managing to get the Zerbest river or whatever and putting Kupiansk in tube range. but even after that they'll need to move to the next river Izium is on

      https://i.imgur.com/h9hc6tM.jpg

The question is if the border distance is a plus or still a problem. How do they think they can surround that city while they they dont controll the Kharkiv region?

And even that only gets them to where they were in the original push at the start of war since they never managed to surround the city then and i assume it'll be harder now that Ukraine is prepared. Granted this would be about double the number of troops for a single city compared to the 190k~ for all of Ukraine at the start

Jesus. If that's a false flag then Putin certainly wasn't taking half-measures. Has he dropped "keep the well-off Russians comfortable" as part of his MO?

hard to say, they are absolutely destroying those windows so i'm somewhat doubtful but there's not really any blood... rubber bullets maybe?

At least 12 people have been killed and 35 injured according to reports.

The building's on fire now. The smoke's visible all over Moscow. There are reports of at least 3 shooters, at least a dozen casualties so far.

Y'know, I think this might actually be legit.
Putin already had the Ukrainians, unambiguously, hitting an airport, oil refineries and a power plant if he needed a pretext for more mobiks, and there's plenty of people who'd want to kill Muscovites right now (anti-Putin extremists, poor people/far-east Black folk resentful at being used as cannon fodder compared to the city folk, Islamists who always chimpout, etc.).

Mass shooter fever spreading to Russia? Ukrainian (re. FSB) agents? Ruslan Zinin fan club?

If Putin and the FSB are aiming to scare Moscow citizens with this then at minimum they need to actually be shooting some of them, and I'm sure a few will perish in the fire(s) also. I guess I just like it when Russians die.

Hahaha! Guaranteed false flag! The average Russian MUST know it, too. At least the online educated non-normies MUST get it. They’ve been caught all-but red-handed doing this shit in past and they’re doing it again. I wonder how many swastikas the shooters are going to have lol.

Swastikas aren't important. What is important is how many copies of Sims 3 they have.

The not so ordinary educated and polyglot russian can try their luck at expatriated contract work, there's a metric ton of them in china and Thailand right now

Georgia used tu be an excellent bribing entryway to Europe but idn if that's still the case.

If they blow their load blaming NATO every time something like this happens, won't it just leave them with no room to escalate their rhetoric if NATO actually attacks something of Russia's? Might as well seize Kaliningrad and Transnistria at this point, kill the ziggers living there too.

        Yes.

Nobody gives a frick. You cant imagine how little fricks are given about this almost ancient history of "nord-ost". People care/remember a lot more about "ryazan sugar" because its memeable and more mysterious.
And it is not a theatre, but a mall this time
        Why its fsb?
        Because:
-Putin says something about "grandiose plans" which he then discusses with soigu
-(somewhat dubious)leaks about plans for "second battle of kharkiv"
-official plans of mobilizing ~300-500k people, disguised as "we are creating new armies and shit"(cant create them out of thin air)
-huge missile+drone barrage on ukraine, hitting power plants and dams just this morning
        -now this "no russian" larp
        All one after another.
And western warnings about "imminent" terrorist attacs from a week or two ago.

They want to mobilize people and have popular support for it even in moscow, now after "elections".
