        this

the Ka52 can fly without a tail because it does not have a tail rotor, the Mi28 does.

Anyway. Losing the tail probably means that other systems are damaged too by shrapnel/rods, so they "can".

So are you just posting to be a retard, or do you have an actual assertion to make? Because last I heard, the KA-52 was getting all the credit for doing things, and the last I saw of the Mi-28 was one getting cut in half by Starstreak sometime last year. Has the bullshit machine pivoted to the Havoc after ATACMS deleted the KA-52 fleet, or has there been footage of the Mi-28 in use that keeps getting pruned because you fucks can't make a thread that doesn't reek of curry?

It wasn't the main reason. The reasons why advancing is so hard in Ukraine:
    1) Very flat terrain with barely any cover
    2) Everpresent drones in air spotting any significant force way before it can reach battlefield and point artillery at it.
    3) Less significant but, Ukraine hasn't received enough aid.

Don't these attack helicopters usually have stupid good optics? Like you loiter and engage from very far away?

Anyways, I think you're right, heard on Mover podcast that Ukraine is fucking AA hell right now, for both sides, which is why stuff like A10c II WOULD tear shit up, they just can't operate in any decent capacity. Think same is true for Frogfoot.

        No, no they do not.

Oh, well then they probably shouldn't be there. Isn't that whole place portable AA city?

            Anonymous

The vikhrs is without doubt a long range missile but the optics arent the best.
They suffer from bad installation jobs. They are French thermals which are good but the static is horrible.
They do acheive long range hits but the optics leave much to be desired.

        >Don't these attack helicopters usually have stupid good optics?

Not the case with Russian helicopters usually. Most of the footage I've seen on TG showed pretty low resolution image.

I think, AA can be mostly circumvented via precise munitions launched at standoff ranges but none of the sides have those in sufficient number to employ them on tactical level. But then you start dealing with enemy's air force and here Russia, despite all shortcomings, has enough capability to deny constant use of aviation by Ukraine beyond occasional strikes against strategic targets like air fields or Kerch Bridge, for instance.

To spend a lot of time loitering, they need to launch relatively close do they not? Haven't the Ruskies continued to move air vehicles further and further away from the front lines?
It's a waste of gas to get all the way up there and all the way back.
