it means the Nork shells are shoddily made piles of crap with bad fuses and propellant. The only way this makes any sense is empty training ammo that is then dug back out of the dirt, deemed acceptable for reuse, then filled with explosive and put into the stockpile. I guess dud rounds would work to, but what the frick. Seriously what the frick.

The first point he brings up is that the part of the shell that is supposed to help keep a snug fit in the gun is either too thick, which means it gets stuck and blows up the gun, or it doesn't fit leading to an embarrassing projectile disfunction where the shell flops out of the gun and lands somewhere not very far away.

Point two is that the Norks use a grease or some other lubricant to help preserve the shells which have to be cleaned off of each and every one of them before they can be used, which is absolutely disgusting and feels like you wiping your hands with literal demonic shit it's that foul.

The third point is that the explosive charges all weigh a slightly different amount then they're supposed too. This means that the gunners are never entirely sure how far the shot will go and how many charges they will need to get the shell to where they want it to be, which means they have a good chance at shelling their own soldiers in danger close missions and tactics like advancing under a creeping barrage become impossible.

the shells that north korea has had stockpiled for 50 years are not actually in pristine working condition, shockingly

        Anonymous

So, BASICALLY what this means is that North Korea never actually had a real military. The reason why they were using such awful ammo — is because they were NOT, in fact, using them. No training, no nothing, just the occasional propaganda shoot. Nork army is just a parade force and regime employment system and police. Since they weren’t actually using their guns the army didn’t actually care that the ammo was so shoddy as to be almost unusable. The ammo factory workers, engineers, leadership, etc, obviously didn’t care either. All that shit about loving dear leader is utterly fake, or else the factory would have been too ashamed to put out such bad shells in Kim’s name.

But let’s be charitable. Maybe they DO have decent ammo but Russi just got the C-stock junk? Maybe Putin just got ripped off Asian-style, trading something good and just getting loaded up with the warehouse dregs which failed QC? Since they figured Russia was in no position to complain they just fricked them. Very possible.

25% of the hits during the bombing of Yeonpyeong Island were duds, and they shoot like 200 rounds.

Their shells are shit because they are not going to use them anyways, South Korea is not going to invade and they are not going south either so why bother?.

Nah, Stalin did the buck breaking. Russia was pretty openly gay even during Lenin's time (moreso than the Tsarist era) but Stalin:
            >The new Article 121, which punished muzhelozhstvo with imprisonment for up to 5 years, was followed by raids and arrests at the height of the Stalinist terror. The numbers of men arrested are not known, but by the 1980s there were about 1000 every year. The Soviet Union had the largest population of incarcerated men in the world, and given the importance of prison culture for Soviet culture as a whole, it is likely that prison homosexuality played a part in forming Soviet gay culture. In Soviet prisons there was a class of men called opushchennye (degraded) who were required to fulfill the sexual needs of the rest. On the one hand, they were at the lowest rung of the social ladder, but they were sometimes protected by their lovers. And not only men charged with Article 121 were opushchennye: any prisoner could be degraded by ritualized rape -- for losing at cards, over an insult, or even because his beauty made him an attractive sex object.
Imagine being gay anal raped over losing a game of cards or just being born a femboy.

In russian this propably doesn't sound as moronic is a direct translation to english does. But the mere tough of this being grammatically correct, with grammatically correct idioms for gay sex, bdsm, pussy walls etc, is making me doubt that russian is a real language.

They write like they’re paid by the word.
And frick, but do they enjoy mangling metaphors and torturing analogies, it’s like a home craft for them or something.

The Nork army is as "real" as they are able to make it. They genuinely do spend an enormous percentage of their GDP on actual military hardware. It's just that the basic GDP figure is so low and the military is so large that the expenditure per shell, for example, remains far below an appropriate standard.

the problem is they have a lot of artillery pieces and they're in range of Seoul and China is backstopping them, otherwise they wouldn't last longer than Saddam did

        Anonymous

Ehh, not really. The artillery thing is exaggerated. The real issue is that nobody wants to deal with the aftermath of a second Korean War, I.e. having to uplift and deprogram an entire society.

          Anonymous

          >The artillery thing is exaggerated
it's suspected that the DPRK has five times the amount of artillery Saddam had in 1991 i.e. 20,000 pieces vs 4,000
granted a significant amount of that must be unserviceable, but the important point is that we have no idea
even assuming that we can kill them at the same rate that we killed Saddam's artillery corps in 1991... that means Seoul would still be threatened by bombardment for a month while all the plinking goes on

          >nobody wants to deal with the aftermath of a second Korean War, I.e. having to uplift and deprogram an entire society.
Koreans on both sides would like to be a whole country again and maybe reconnect with family; don't underestimate Asians, even if the connection was only a common grandmother from back in 1940 they would still feel some degree of connection
and there would be economic advantages to reunification: North Korea gets a massive uplift in quality of life, South Korea gets a massive economic boost from 26 million new worker-consumers and lots more land of course
and there's not much to deprogram assuming a successful war; the myth of the Kims would be easily destroyed, so it would just be a reintroduction of people to modern society. East Germans and many East Europeans largely made it, so it's not impossible.

            > it's suspected that the DPRK has five times the amount of artillery Saddam had in 1991
Here’s the problem with that. Yes, they have a lot of tubes. But not all artillery is created equal. Only a small percentage of their tube are able to reach from the border to Seoul. And those are all old, extremely slow firing pieces (think one round every five or so minutes slow)
Also, technology has advanced considerably since 1991, and South Korea specifically has been working on the problem of North Korean artillery for seventy years. So while I’m not saying that there wouldn’t be any damage to Seoul at all, it certainly wouldn’t be leveled like some people claim. The bigger concern would be CBRN weapons, but I don’t think the Nork leadership is quite that suicidal.

              >Yes, they have a lot of tubes. But not all artillery is created equal. Only a small percentage of their tube are able to reach from the border to Seoul.
They can still counter-battery forces nearer the border, and play find-the-needle-in-the-haystack with the other pieces. six guns in grid square 123456, you don't know which one is the long range piece hitting Seoul, you have to expend ammo on them all.
              >And those are all old, extremely slow firing pieces (think one round every five or so minutes slow)
              yes

but how much damage the DPRK can do to the ROK, and how much is acceptable, is for the ROK leadership to assess. it's a political question, not an objective one.

It never fully worked even with Germany, and the Ossies were freedom loving capitalists compared to the norks.
Plus the politics; you would 100% get populist extremist parties rise after reunification, and what politician would want to risk that?t

I don't discount that a democratized North Korea would spawn some very wacky political movements, but part of the reason that former East Germany is more enthusiastic about the AfD is that West Germany's De-Nazification program was actually far more serious about stamping out rightist politics than the East's was, where the former local Nazi organizations were incorporated into the Stasi, resulting in many true believers in nationalism and their kids thinly pretending to be communist

nta, but you should look at the die Linke results then
and lets not even start about the Wagenknecht clownshow that tries to appeal to both far left and right at the same time

The thing is Soviet communism would differed from Marx's original goal. Most Marxists would say it contained "petty bourgeois nationalism" as states were organised in terms of ethnicity and historical/folk heroes were brought back to create a new identity, here's an example from East Germany, Prussian generals like Blucher and Scharnhorst (who the DDR had medals named after) cause they furthered the cause of the unification of the German people, which would become communist and thus were "heroes"
The East German military existed as combat instrument and fighting vanguard of the state, a proletarian dictatorship ruled by the working class. The military had fought socially progressive battles in its history, and is going to prepare for more. They'd also march to Beethoven identifying him with revolutionary traditions (and Beethoven similarly denounced Napoleon declaring himself emperor and seeing that as a betrayal):

In an American context it'd be like if communists somehow took power in the south and identified and then started renaming all the bases named after both Confederate generals and Native American war leaders

Korean reunification happening "just like that" would sink South Korea. Imagine West Germany absorbing East Germany, pumping trillions, still having special taxes for it, and East Germany still being a shithole with broken people, with soviet toxins still poisoning Germany as a country. Now imagine this on super-steroids, because the size different is nowhere near the same, and because East Germany was the creme de la creme of the soviet block and not some asiatic monarchy, it also didn't exist as long. The only way to reunify Korea is to somehow slowly reform DPRK, normalizing it decade by decade and then maybe in 50 years it could actually be merged into South Korea.

It doesn't work this way in practice, Anon. It theoretically works on paper, as long as you don't actually try to drag a society out of a hellhole and just leave them there and turn them into a wealth extraction colony with one nice city to show for the news cameras or something, but you're talking about draining trillions and trillions of dollars in rebuilding and re-education, and also giving some of the worst human refuse imaginable access to modern markets and a pass to undercut your labor force.

In the short term you'll see some profit from grift and confiscation but you don't get a return on investment by putting more in than you take out and genuinely uplifting someone's quality of life, which is why we don't do that shit anymore. Shitholes are going to stay shitholes forever.

          >Ehh, not really. The artillery thing is exaggerated. The real issue is that nobody wants to deal with the aftermath of a second Korean War, I.e. having to uplift and deprogram an entire society<

I’m not sure that would even be necessary. Just set them to work in th fields or cleaning the sides of the roads or scrubbing public shitters and actually feed them and pay them some pittance, and they’ll likely all learn and sing soulful Black Old-Timey spirituals all the live-long day forever.

          Everything is relative, right?

When they retire, buy them a McDonald’s Happy Meal of their own and watch them Burt’s into tears at how good they have it.

China is by far Russia’s largest supplier of sanctioned electronics and dual-use parts. They’ve also filled the gap left by Western auto manufacturers leaving making China the second-largest automobile exporter in the world just below Japan. okay anon, I will give you the benefit of the doubt just this once.

                >a post from /misc/
is an opinion, the same with this telegram post
at its epistemological roots, opinions are judged on how they mesh with other opinions of varying reliability based on the source. gather enough opinions and you have - not facts, actually, but a large collection of opinions which may point in the same direction

we deride /misc/ because much of what they say doesn't mesh with the bulk of other opinions and opinions which are more trustworthy and reliable, and also because it isn't internally consistent or self-contradictory, (the CIA eliminated everyone who knows the secret of the Lizardpeople; only I have escaped to tell the tale!!) Not because what /misc/ says is by default true or untrue.

in the case of this TG post, the opinion expressed is is internally consistent of outrage throughout, and externally consistent with what we expect from the quality standards of a massively delusional hermit kingdom that only just managed to feed itself recently, and with other opinions of Nork shell quality, complete with accompanying pictures (itself an opinion).

so, taking all this together, this is why we can form the opinion that the OP picture is lots more trustworthy than a /misc/ schizo ranting about the Azov biolabs

                here endeth the lesson

Incorrect. You don't know the author so you can't assess the quality of the information. Also, considering the comments of that post likely qualifies as a crime in Russia the authenticity is dubious.

In other words, stop posting random shit from the internet.

They're STILL doing the biolabs thing?

What was their fricking problem with them?

TMK, the Ukie biolabs, if they ever existed, never released a worldwide Pandemic like Wuhan did with American subsidy.

And as a free and sovereign nation, Ukraine has every right to open biolabs if it so wished, just like they were well within their rights to apply for NATO membership.

What part of "independent state" do these frickers NOT get?

The biolabs story is complex. Yes there are biolabs in Ukraine, yes they are a problem. But not for any of the reasons the Russians say. They are generic labs doing research on a number of dangerous diseases and pathogens and the problem is that they are in cities that get bombed. So Wuhan 2.0 is a concern. No they aren't making super-mutants and no they are not where the Boris Johnson's come from (those are made in biolabs in international waters).

                yeah, we know

everybody who has the least smidgen of domestic epidemic control research has "biolabs" of the sort they showed in Ukraine
a South American banana republic running a malaria control program has "biolabs" complete with samples, cultures, and all the necessary equipment for testing, replication and analysis
only vatniks, pajeets, chinks, /misc/turds and Carlsonites are disingenuous enough to propagate the "biolab" story

The problem is that le biolabs got used to dismiss legitimate concerns. Like, you know, having smallpox someplace it could get bombed and escape somehow.
                >How could that possibly happen
                Slavs.

The really can't stop talking about sex. They are really obsessed with talking about gay sex, gay men and passive aggressive questions instead of stating points. They are thirdies but white.

Do the Russians understand how homosexual they look to the western world. I'm not attacking or defending homosexuals I'm just asking if Russians are aware of how gay they look. Putin is a 5'4 110 74 year old manlet was extensive plastic surgery and has ruled them for 20 years like an abusive sugar daddy. It's really gay.

      >Do the Russians understand how homosexual they look to the western world
Nice digits, and no they do not.
They've legitimately internalized all the rationalizing cope about *their* rampant, violent culture of gayness as seriously meaning they're more masculine and manly.
I think it comes down to how they perceive gays being tolerated in open Western societies compared to their own. They think it's "proper" to have a schizoid society that is *deep*, hard-gay behind the scenes, but projects an outward image of homosexualry being bad with society acting accordingly.
It's funny because it's in sharp contrast with gays in the West, where there wasn't nearly as much hard-gay shit happening on the down-low while gays were more objectively downtrodden in Western society. We went from there being a comparatively small amount of cultural homosexualry to over-correcting too hard and now everyone's gay. They've never stopped being raging gays, and they don't think society should tolerate it.

I've typed more than I wanted to on this topic already, but I think serious fricking *volumes* can and will be written about this phenomenon in the coming decades, it's literally the only thing I've ever found fascinating related to homosexuals lmao.

You might be right about that. It's like a "it's not gay if you don't have access to women." Prison, the military, the seminary, etc. That's like Iran too.

        >it's literally the only thing I've ever found fascinating related to homosexuals lmao.
Well wait till you see this shit mao, because even I was, like, woah. It looks like Brokeback Mountain (with less tragedy) and this guy makes patriotic army music and performs at concerts with big Z symbols:

It's near east, heathen shit. Nothing to do with politics or whatever. There's reason you see it in Turkey and Afghanistan and Pakistan and other similar places. It has to do with steppes, Near East, pre-Christian, pre-Muslim cultures. Think of ancient Persia.

I'm a gay and not offended. But I don't think so. It's just that what seems completely gay to us is normal to Russians. Strap in... we're setting sail on the Moska:
