There is ostensibly a flag up there, but there hasn't been any footage of a single zigger actually being up there, so either >A) the guys who planted it got shredded, so they can't post their images >B) they planted it with a drone >C) it's actually just CGI (the flag appears inconsistent)
Like day 1 or 2 they made it to the heap, as shown by the corpse halfway up it. It was probably then. As the telegram said then, they made it to the top, but all they got was artillery and death.
Really there is no good tactical or strategic reason to take the spoil heap. This isn’t 1916 anymore and there’s no need for artillery observers to be placed on top of it. The fact Russia is wasting so many men and vehicles to take a fucking unmanned hill is a testament to their unbridled retardation.
I thought that there was (some) advantage to being able to place your cannon artillery in elevated positions, especially in massive flatlands.
Am I retarded for assuming the trash heap had real utility?

While I'm not an artillery guy, and this is only looking at it from a geometric point of view, if the maximum range for artillery is achieved by firing at 45 degrees, then for every foot of vertical height the cannon goes up, you get an extra foot of horizontal length
In reality a firing arc is not an even parabola, and a million other things mean this is not exactly how things will work out, so I would assume you'd gain less than a foot of range for each foot you elevate your artillery
But in any case this small advantage in one location is almost certainly not worth ten thousand souls and hundreds of vehicles, and as anon has said, spotter drones exist, and anything that is actually put up on top of the hill becomes an extremely obvious target for superior Ukrainian counter battery, which all makes one think that this was for propaganda and saving face rather than for any strategic or tactical purpose
In other threads when anon has asked how anon would take this hill, the correct answer is to not take the hill, to just ignore it and move on

That makes sense to me, thinking about it more I can’t imagine that the elevation of this heap is that significant a factor, and there’s no cover on the top so it would be a disadvantage to be up there and so exposed.

Both Russian and Ukrainian doctrine still includes the use of human recon units for artillery spotting. The use of precision artillery shells relies larging on laser targeting. Drones, although useful, are limited both by cloud cover affecting their targeting lasers and ECM. This actually really important because of changes to Russian artillery strategy has severely reduced the accuracy of their conventional artillery bombardments.
The argument I see is that the Russians will set up defensive positions on the hill and "control" the area for miles.
There is no reason to occupy the scrap heap, and it's impossible to fortify.
Like yeah, you can see further on top of the hill than on the ground, but that goes both ways. The second you climb that hill top you are spotted by literally every single Ukrainian for miles, and you have nowhere to go for cover. It's the exact opposite of a strategic position; it's a hill you go to die on.
It's for passive observation. If you have to send a drone out every time you want to check out a location then you're: Giving away that you're scouting that area tipping off the enemy, and likely to miss information because you're briefly looking through an area during a limited amount of time.
Passive observation means you can just keep a guy or two posted up there with a pair of binos and a radio constantly watching for movements. It's this that will make the logistics of resupply harder as this guy is likely to spot the incoming vehicles and call for artillery on the highway etc, or notice that a spoiling attack is being staged by the defenders and tell the guys down the line that they're going to get raided pretty soon and to prepare.
yeah but those two men on top of the hill will just gen instantly drone striked.

Im for TZD but I do have to admit that this is bleak and down right depressing when thinking about it from a soldier’s POV. But the Russians could stop all of this by leaving Ukraine so until they do TZD must continue.
I love that there seems to be a 'no talk' policy about the disastrous Adiiivka push within Vatnik telegrams.
Hundred or so AFVs of all types and probably thousands dead within a few days, but let's talk about the Palestinian conflict in our Z-tard telegram channels instead.

I've spent the last twenty fucking years listening to how amazing russia was at everything and how they were a superpower and how they would crush the decadent west with "real" weapons. I've been hard for weeks.
>Is that a bottle of water with some duct tape?
yeah when they dont have access to le 3d printed aero parts then they just ducttape some bottle onto its payload for aerodynamics
basically it makes sure the payload hits the ground at the correct orientation
stupid fucking hohols...now that this early attackers has cleared mines and Ukraine artillery is spent....nothing is stopping Russian army from breaking through this gap
xaxaxaxa stupid westerner not understand we are of establishing cover with hulk of vehicles, now pushes happen behind cover of vehicles and cannot be stopped. We will send the next wave and the crests will be crushed.
So tomorrow when the next line of Russians are tolled to bum rush that hill and ignore the burning corpses they will just.... what?
Say heil Putina and Uraaaa ahead?
They also captured it way back at the beginning of this. Do you remember the zigger poetry >for one glorious moment the only thing above our guys was god and a drone correcting Ukrainian artillery.
no, its a khohol false flag, they planted the flag themselves, so they can blow it up. They planted it there by using russian pows of course, before putting a satanic curse on them
Having a flag somewhere doesn't mean you captured dumbass, the amount of times the Ukrainians rode across the river near Kherson and planted a flag somewhere then left is insane
why, why. WHY? would he drive RIGHT INTO THE SAME SPOT A LAND MINE BLEW UP????
DID HE ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*THINK*~~*~~*~~)) THAT A 10 METER AREA IS NOW MINE FREE?!?!?!!??!!?
The issue for the Ukrainians now is that from the heights of the slag heaps and surrounding areas the Russians can hit ALL supply lines with even 80mm mortars and if you have them on both sides even with 60mm mortars. Lots of roads are now in fagot atgm range and of course artillery too.
It's just too much works for himars to keep everything suppressed, now it's either the Ukrainians take back the heights near adviivka or are going to be forced into a gesture of goodwill like the Russians in Kherson when their supplies were under too much enemy fire.
Anyway how can the Ukrainians prevent this from happening without using human waves as the Russians are doing is my actual question which I don't know how to give an answer to.
yes anon the mortars will simply be too high up for counter battery. and like... the trash heap is, like... so stinky so the ukrainians are going to be as far away from it as possible! did someone say ewwwwwwwww? hahaha!
They can kill the forward observers using drones because there's no cover on that hill and destroy Russian artillery systems using their range advantage. Russians can't really put anything up there because it'd be completely suicidal.
It's a dead zone right now, it was only useful for the AFU because they do have better artillery and it wasn't heavily contested before.
This isn't even a security zone, it's literally a fucking FO post, and it's usefulness isn't symmetrical in any way.
Nigga it's a blank fucking hill lmfao that entire hill is like someone used the 'raise terrain' feature in the Sims I'd rather be part of a Bakhmut meat wave than try to ascend that hill carrying a mortar
Avdiivka still isn't close to falling. Russia wasted an entire brigade just to turn the mound into a grey zone, that doesn't fair well for the rest of their offensive.
Soledar fell months before Bakhmut, it turned out to be inconsequential. Avdiivka holds less value than either.
[...]
Nah it's fucking over. They also wasted tens of thousands of men but eventually took Bakhmut. If this was going to be a Vuhledar style failure they wouldn't have made any gains at all and called it off by now. Since they're making gains and continuing to attack the shit show is going their way.
>Nah it's fucking over.
Not even remotely. >They also wasted tens of thousands of men but eventually took Bakhmut.
Yes which was a complete disaster and lead directly to Wagner falling apart and rebelling. >If this was going to be a Vuhledar style failure they wouldn't have made any gains at all and called it off by now.
Vuhledar lasted longer than this >Since they're making gains and continuing to attack the shit show is going their way.
Losing a brigade in 10 days for the edge of a trash heap is unsustainable, it is absolutely not "going their way".
[...]
Your post makes no sense, avdiivka still holds, the slagheap is not under total russian control, it's contested.
Nah it's fucking over. They also wasted tens of thousands of men but eventually took Bakhmut. If this was going to be a Vuhledar style failure they wouldn't have made any gains at all and called it off by now. Since they're making gains and continuing to attack the shit show is going their way.
>If this was going to be a Vuhledar style failure they wouldn't have made any gains at all and called it off by now
Anon, they made "gains" at Vuhledar. Not very much, but do you think all they did was walk forward and die?
I love how during the Bakhmut shitshow we were all laughing at how much the pozziyans had expended to get one tiny sub-100k pop town and were going to endlessly crow about their ONE (1) conquest since the Kherson goodwill gesture... and now exactly that is happening.
Yeah sure that’s why public support in the US for Ukraine is basically gone and Republicans actively want to end all aid to them. I’m sure it has nothing to do with losing all year.
But sure bro go ahead and live in your imperial Japan safe space where glorious victories over the enemy are getting closer and closer to the home islands.
retarded zigger doesn't understand that defeats will only push west to provide more support
maybe that's what this retarded operation is all about the retards think this will make west stop sending support
Anon, lets not make delusions and rewriting history. Bakmut, from the outside perspective, was a fucking PR win for ukraine. It took almost a year to take, it, every week, news about russians failing to take bakmut. For 10 months, the failure was shown in 4k 60fps. And to top it all of, when it was finally taken, the man responsible for it made the lulzy run for moscow, undermining any political power it might have had. The whole thing made the russians look weak.
I just love that, the best case scenario for them currently, is them taking a literal pile of trash.
And if they take it, they will gloat about it, as an accomplisment, after 2 years of this fuckup. They will cheer and think its epic win
waiiit, isnt the big selling point in the GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR(TM), is that in stalingrad, the tanks rolled off the factory right at the battle? Is that not epic anymore? Should we (you) shun the good old soviet russia?
The US still has thousands of M1s in storage. We're also rich enough that we can write General Dynamics a check for what it costs to expand production.
Why doesn’t the US do it then?
Why are they fighting this war at a slow burn?
This is making me depressed as I lose hope in a Russian defeat with each day.
>Except they won the battle which is what matters.
They wasted men and material for a leveled city that to date they still don't fully control. Taking Bakhmut never lead to anything strategically for Russia except the loss of their best storm units.
>Why doesn’t the US do it then? >Why are they fighting this war at a slow burn? >This is making me depressed as I lose hope in a Russian defeat with each day.
Except no, the russkies planting a flag before running away form the shooting gallery does not mean "the entire defense is now fucked", you enormous retard.
/PrepHole/ used to be my home board like a decade ago, I left during the incel era but I still check on it once in a while. It's full of ziggers and shills now, which makes a bit sad. Funnily enough it's also full of blacked/tranny threads, like
>board full of blacked/trans/sissy/gay threads
yeah
Uhhhh zisters what's going on? Didn't our drone plant the russian flag on top of the slag heap? I thought the battle was over?
Real talk, is the trash heap still contested or have ziggers actually piled up enough bodies to climb it?
so that's their strategy
It's the only strategy russia has that still somewhat works. If 100 slaves die to take 1m, just throw a few thousand more
There is ostensibly a flag up there, but there hasn't been any footage of a single zigger actually being up there, so either
>A) the guys who planted it got shredded, so they can't post their images
>B) they planted it with a drone
>C) it's actually just CGI (the flag appears inconsistent)
Like day 1 or 2 they made it to the heap, as shown by the corpse halfway up it. It was probably then. As the telegram said then, they made it to the top, but all they got was artillery and death.
what is even the point? anyone at the top is just going to get shredded by artillery and FPVs

Yeah makes sense…wild that this whole offensive has been for virtually nothing.

That's a Ukrainian flag
no, its a khohol false flag, they planted the flag themselves, so they can blow it up. They planted it there by using russian pows of course, before putting a satanic curse on them
>flag dropped
Wagner being used as meat once again.
fyi this dude is a zoomer currently sperging out in a discord. his evidence is the video of the flag that just got blown up.
Don't have a discord and you are probably closer in age to my son than myself.
The map I am using had literally never been wrong since the first day of the war.
Dark arrows are the recent movements.
>The map I am using had literally never been wrong since the first day of the war.
It's wrong right now, and only came into existence in this moment.
seriously?
Can I get some screen caps
Having a flag somewhere doesn't mean you captured dumbass, the amount of times the Ukrainians rode across the river near Kherson and planted a flag somewhere then left is insane
it's legally captured shut up
why, why. WHY? would he drive RIGHT INTO THE SAME SPOT A LAND MINE BLEW UP????
DID HE ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*THINK*~~*~~*~~)) THAT A 10 METER AREA IS NOW MINE FREE?!?!?!!??!!?
>capture heap
>ukies bomb heap with drones, himars and cluster shells
was that your master plan?
>The entire Kliichivka defense
Except that picture is of Avdiivka, did you get the wrong script?
Fuck me and fuck Slav place names, my point still stands. They should rename more mining towns New York.
>They can't, it's too late now.
I hope you are trolling because else you are a retard.
>Kliichivka
eh
brown (don don)
>Potato quality
That hurt me
>DPICM splash on convoy
All is well again
>WAKE ME UP INSIDE
I take back my remarks about the potato quality, thanks Ukies for delivering.
Nigga it's a blank fucking hill lmfao that entire hill is like someone used the 'raise terrain' feature in the Sims I'd rather be part of a Bakhmut meat wave than try to ascend that hill carrying a mortar
stop giving yourself (you)s please
Inflation is bad enough as-is
Your post makes no sense, avdiivka still holds, the slagheap is not under total russian control, it's contested.
suppose the vatnaggers take the heap
what's stopping the ukrainians from just dropping ATACMS or something like that right on top?
why waste a missile when it's artillery range?
but the idea is that the heap is a stepping stone on the way to encircling avdiivka
Yeah.
Avdiivka still isn't close to falling. Russia wasted an entire brigade just to turn the mound into a grey zone, that doesn't fair well for the rest of their offensive.
Soledar vibes.
Soledar fell months before Bakhmut, it turned out to be inconsequential. Avdiivka holds less value than either.
Vuhledar lasted longer than this
>Since they're making gains and continuing to attack the shit show is going their way.
Losing a brigade in 10 days for the edge of a trash heap is unsustainable, it is absolutely not "going their way".
You're a shitty concern troll.
Nah it's fucking over. They also wasted tens of thousands of men but eventually took Bakhmut. If this was going to be a Vuhledar style failure they wouldn't have made any gains at all and called it off by now. Since they're making gains and continuing to attack the shit show is going their way.
Monke gets what monke wants
>Nah it's fucking over.
>a heap with zero cover
>If this was going to be a Vuhledar style failure they wouldn't have made any gains at all and called it off by now
Anon, they made "gains" at Vuhledar. Not very much, but do you think all they did was walk forward and die?
>but do you think all they did was walk forward and die?
yes?
NTA but they gained like 50m of territory during Vuhledar. Basically nothing
I love how during the Bakhmut shitshow we were all laughing at how much the pozziyans had expended to get one tiny sub-100k pop town and were going to endlessly crow about their ONE (1) conquest since the Kherson goodwill gesture... and now exactly that is happening.
you are a retarded turd
more defeats only means more west support retarded zigger
No you dumb as fuck monkey. Support surged up in late 2022 because they pulled a stunning win in Kharkiv and then Kherson.
you are a retard support has nothing to do with victories or defeats
Yeah sure that’s why public support in the US for Ukraine is basically gone and Republicans actively want to end all aid to them. I’m sure it has nothing to do with losing all year.
But sure bro go ahead and live in your imperial Japan safe space where glorious victories over the enemy are getting closer and closer to the home islands.
retarded zigger doesn't understand that defeats will only push west to provide more support
maybe that's what this retarded operation is all about the retards think this will make west stop sending support
cope more retarded turd
Did miss the parts where aid to Ukraine has only INCREASED since Bakhmut and the counteroffensive?
All Bakhmut did was basically destroy Wagner as an effective fighting unit for practically zero tactical or strategic gain.
The whole thing made the russians look weak.
>all this extreme zigger retardation
Dude, are things going that horrifyingly horrendous for them right now?
I just love that, the best case scenario for them currently, is them taking a literal pile of trash.
And if they take it, they will gloat about it, as an accomplisment, after 2 years of this fuckup. They will cheer and think its epic win
>NATO countries have no more tanks to provide aside from Leopard 1 rust buckets
>germany building a leopard 2 factory in ukraine
>usa sending more everything
Oh my lord, if we translate this from vatnik to human, it means the russian ate up their WHOLE stockpile by now
>Stop living in some delusional space where losing equals winning.
that's why russians are using tanks from 1950 and trucks from 1930?
waiiit, isnt the big selling point in the GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR(TM), is that in stalingrad, the tanks rolled off the factory right at the battle? Is that not epic anymore? Should we (you) shun the good old soviet russia?
The US still has thousands of M1s in storage. We're also rich enough that we can write General Dynamics a check for what it costs to expand production.
Why doesn’t the US do it then?
Why are they fighting this war at a slow burn?
This is making me depressed as I lose hope in a Russian defeat with each day.
Probably because there aren't enough Ukrainians who know how to drive one to actually make us of them all.
>Except they won the battle which is what matters.
They wasted men and material for a leveled city that to date they still don't fully control. Taking Bakhmut never lead to anything strategically for Russia except the loss of their best storm units.
And a thunder run on their capitol, which was my favorite part of the saga
>Why doesn’t the US do it then?
>Why are they fighting this war at a slow burn?
>This is making me depressed as I lose hope in a Russian defeat with each day.
>stopped
Bro, they took spoil tips.
Didn't russia take the 25 meter tall hill thing? That's gotta be worth something.
Except no, the russkies planting a flag before running away form the shooting gallery does not mean "the entire defense is now fucked", you enormous retard.
/lgbt/ here, we don't want them either, maybe try sending them to /gif/
Was gonna try and continue the chain, but yeah that's exactly where most ziggers are.
>board full of blacked/trans/sissy/gay threads
yeah
It's as if /misc/ and /b/ had a child, and oh joy, this one has audio so now you can also hear everything.
/PrepHole/ used to be my home board like a decade ago, I left during the incel era but I still check on it once in a while. It's full of ziggers and shills now, which makes a bit sad. Funnily enough it's also full of blacked/tranny threads, like
said about /gif/.
/gif/ is already full of them. Them and their tranny/blacked threads. It became unusable.
Let's not forget their zillions of russia strongk webm dumps, shit is just tiring
da fuq are these two rows of holes? did the ukies bury explosives there?
Looks like mines that self detonated OR they were part of a remote detonated trap
Wait is this the same column from the zigger POV? Two explosions at the front
N
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA
russians are fucking morons
>0:30
Was that a... cosmonaut?
Are they still trying?
i think this is one of the first pushes from like 4 days ago
holy shit i think it is, gagarin would be proud
>you will never get to fight over a cool trash mountain with tanks
The west has become decadent
