have you seen them get ahold of anything but shitty tanks, out of date rpg's and ancient ifv/apc's? Before you argue about things like counter battery radar controls, and other "high tech" systems and devices being captured, there is a 99% chance that they are planted and assembled wrong in order to confuse NATO intelligence. This is a classic FSB move and it will pay dividends in the future.

Do not doubt russia's capability and spirit. This war could be turned around in a day if Russia decided to actually take it seriously and do something drastic. It would be an easy feat to annihilate Pine Gap and cut the NATO intelligence support down entirely if they felt the need to do so without triggering article 4.

Out of range of your bombers, which would easily be seen by THE GIGANTIC RADAR INSTALLATION AT PINE GAP FROM HALF THE WORLD AWAY. And while we may not be in NATO, we happen to be rather close friends with them, though I suppose that friends might be an alien concept to a Russian... either way, that's a joint facility you're talking about. So, you would've pissed off:

Also, heads up you made the Azov Battalion fucking local heroes with your dumbassery, if anything, you just lionized them by proving their hatred of Russia is completely justified, you literally gave Azov everything they could have wanted.

Azov was given only death, nobody in ukrain will lionize them, they failed to defend any of their objectives, they fled, died or were captured. These are not things to be celebrated. Besides Zelensky is under immense international pressure to jail and kill all Azov supporters. The second things cool off they'll be murdered or arrested and put on trial.

More to the point. Even if russia withdraws from the "nation" entirely. Every new military training ground, every new power plant, every new bridge, rail yard, anything that could lead to economic or social recovery. Will without question, be identified and bombed. There will be no ceasefire, there will be no end to hostilities. Ukraine will be starved and frozen as long as it takes to show them their only future is with russia. Then the rest of the CSTO will be forced to submit fully their territories to Russia. When they see how much russia is willing to persevere to get what they want, nobody will oppose them. Most of Eurasia will be begging to join, this includes whore states like Finland, Poland, and Sweden.

Bad enough you intend to make everyone miserable as some point of twisted pride, but now you have the gall to take offense of someone wanting to get out of a bad situation, that being the corrupted , corpse like entity known as the Russian Federation, who treats anyone with an IP over 80 as a potential treasonous seditionist

All the world sees isn't perseverance , its a spiteful bully that lives in the past, and despises the fact one of its former subordinates is actually trying to make something of itself instead of childishly chasing after the past that was the Soviet Union, your Russia WILL be forced to the negotiating table, you WILL sign the documents, you WILL pay reparation's for your senseless war of imperial aggression, and you WILL honor it, if you ever want to even be remotely accepted back into the graces of civilized society.

Russia will be forced to kill you all. Russia without Ukraine is an existential threat to Russia. You must understand, you are making them do this. This is NATO's fault for continuing to punish Russia for fulfilling it's destiny as a nation. They don't need the "trust" of other nations, they need cognizance of their position and for them to understand Russia's future in much the same way as they understand America's hegemony. There will be two super powers. One will be Russia, there are no excuses. It will be this way, or there will be no future for anyone. Russia has been backed into this corner over the last 30 years, it will not be a member or client or vassal. None of those positions will be acceptable. You are in danger by propagating this falsehood of russian "imperialism". Assess your outlook before it is too late.

No they can’t. Ukrainians don’t have much mechanization and the majority of troops have to walk. They’ll get fatigued. On the plus side the opposition isn’t trying to fight; they are simply walking into vacated territories.

A huge problem would normally be over-extension opening up to a pincer or having rear lines cut. However this risk is mitigated by NATO intel which can alert them the moment something seems to be forming.

I stated a clear fact. There is NO evidence to the contrary. A few days ago I even saw a video of a huge column of Ukrainian troops WALKING for the advance (wish I had saved it). We have a huge amount of video and photo evidence of Russian mechanization; giant convoys of trucks, BTRs, BMPs and other misc. military vehicles — not even counting the civilian vehicles. I haven’t seen a SINGLE video showing something similar from Ukraine.

But since you think I’m lying that must mean there’s plenty of evidence to the contrary (therefore I could only be lying). So, please share. Correct my lie.

You must have plenty of evidence of what the troops were mounted on while marching to different sectors of the battlefield. Convoys please. Ukraine has been losing ground inch by inch over the course of months, a slow process. Most retreats are organized, and in good order, refusing to get bogged down in pointless engagements, trading slight territory loss for time, classic defense in depth
Russia meanwhile, has lost all its gains in the north in such a spectacular fashion in such an disorganized fashion, while the Ukies have been retaking territory hand over fist with minimum losses
Can you not see the fucking difference here?

        Anonymous

        >How is this so different?
        1. It is not a peer conflict and should not be happening at all unless Russia is weak enough to not be able to defend its positions.
        2. Ukrainian withdrawals were actually tactical when their positions were in danger of being overrun. Also relatively controlled because Russians did not really manage to capture that much of ukrainian equipment or get prisoners.
        3. It took russia months to get a tiny villages and now they are losing those villages in dozens. And also major logistics centers while at it.

See I get that Russia's recent retreat was sloppy and bad, but did you get amnesia and forget a few months back Ukrainians were surrendering in the hundreds? They really fucked up and got surrounded and routed a bunch of times to lose all that territory.
All of their retreats haven't been masterstrokes like you claim. The problem is you people are so concerned with pushing a narrative that you just omit reality when it suits you. You really expect everyone to just forget about all that?

                >Don't they depend on resources from China

                >The Military Industrial Complex is one of the most powerful economic institutions on Earth
Brainlet take. It's the American Civilian Industrial Complex that's the real war winner. All those tax dollars going to US Govt coffers to be spent on weapons
                >bbbbut muh offshore tax
Keep in mind the IRS isn't bitching about not being paid; they're bitching about not being paid ENOUGH. Also corporations have to spend their money domestically as well e.g. on staff and the trickle down from that is HUGE.

                Thanks for the detailed reply.

                >Isn't the US experiencing a recession and inflation right now?
EVERYONE is in the shit. But the US is on top of the shitheap. Winning is relative.

                >Hmm ok. Isn't the US experiencing a recession and inflation right now? Doesn't that factor into their ability to utilize the "most powerful economic institution on earth"?
As far as spending your way out of a recession goes, this is a fairly safe bet. The vast majority of money spent on weapons goes straight back into the American economy to be taxed again, because the defense industry is such an enormous employer.
Add on top of that, that it's a great distraction, polls well, and removes Russia from the board and it's safe to say that the government would be absolutely crazy not to leap on this opportunity.
Virtually everyone is suffering recession and inflation right now, so in absolute terms the United States still has vastly more economic weight with which to bludgeon Russia.
It also helps that Eastern European NATO members are doing more than their share to shoulder the burden because they have a vested interest in seeing Russia implode.

                >As far as spending your way out of a recession goes, this is a fairly safe bet
Not for ever, and I've yet to see a Fed or President take the fiscal cliff dive

You can't really "spend your way out of inflation" tho, and actually printing more money for say sending billions to Ukraine, will actually cause inflation to worsen.
You're correct that everyone is suffering under the strain of the dollar. I guess the bet is that it can withstand all this spending and printing, but there are lots of economists who don't sound overly optimistic.

Me being one of them, but again, in terms of war winning it won't be a problem for the US.

                >You can't really "spend your way out of inflation"
You can out of a recession, though. Or rather, you can lessen the impact.
                >and actually printing more money for say sending billions to Ukraine, will actually cause inflation to worsen.
Correct, though I can't speak as to whether that's going to be done via printing. I suspect not given that most of what is being sent is already in the arsenal.

                >I suspect not given that most of what is being sent is already in the arsenal
The arsenal needs to be replenished and the money needs to be printed to do that.
The flipside however is that Russia is printing too and printing more. Though it must be said Putin can put his civvies through more hardship than the US can. But the US is way more comfortable so I wouldn't bet on Russia winning the inflation war.

Wait, wait, wait! You think the Yanks are actually just going to print off like billions of dollars and ship them to Ukraine on pallets?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH holy fuck you are RETARDED!

Other NATO members are also buying up, and will continue to do so. RU is getting straight shown up and anyone paying attention is going to want a piece of what we got. Performance talks and RU has shown little to impress, with even worse results against what we got.

                >Serious question tho: Is the US going to be able to keep funding this war?
Yes. They are destroying one of their two primary geopolitical rivals for pennies on the dollar.
                >Aren't they going to run out of equipment meant for their own military?
No. They are sending literal rounding error amounts of gear relative to total stocks. Ammunition expenditure is a bit more significant. Ukraine blew up all those supply depots with 16 HIMARS units - there are nearly 600 in service with orders for hundreds more, and mind you this is a vehicle which is functionally just a low cost twist on 1980s technologies.
                >Don't they depend on resources from China to manufacture many of those components?
Not really. The military industrial complex very specifically has secure supply chains which avoids using parts which would require sourcing from China or other hostile nations.
The United States also has some of the largest proven mineral and energy reserves in the world.
Ironically, in terms of self sufficiency, the USofA (plus Canuckistan) are what Russia aspired to be in regards to self sufficiency.
The US hasn't even sent aircraft yet. Or tanks. Or IFVs.
The only real gamechanger at this point would be enough western tanks to be worth the logistical burden, which would give Ukraine the punch needed to go head to head with Russian armor.
The trouble with that is that western AA and SHORAD are kinda lacking because the West generally prefers to secure their armor via friendly air cover, which isn't an option for Ukraine, so there's not much in terms of accompanying AA to send with those tanks, which might be why it hasn't happened yet.

Incorrect. They weren't grounded, there was merely a pause to deliveries that Lockmart later confirmed had zero effect on actual production, all because Honeywell didn't realize that they were using a chinese produced alloy for the magnets in... I want to say the engine but I don't really remember because it wasn't important. It was such a non-issue that instead of actually making any changes, they just applied for the normal 'this is such a generic part that it's not a security concern if we suddenly lose Chinese suppliers and have to replace them as a source' waiver and have kept on using cranking the F35s out.

The gulf in difference between the military might of #1 and #2 (Formerly Russia now probably China) is fucking huge. The biggest airforce in the World is the USAF. The 2nd biggest airforce is USN. Even before the war, USA would have crushed Russia and China combined in a conventional war.

Not really. In fact, it was recently discovered a magnet used in the F-35 was made using an alloy sourced from China. Using components or materials from a non-friendly nation is forbidden to be the point that a single magnet used for a non-critical component in a single model of aircraft caused a minor scandal in the US defense industry.

I'm glad that someone simply questioning your rationale and asking simple questions causes you to come unglued and sperg out, insinuating they're a "Russianbot".
Makes you seem like a really reasonable and normal person who I want to agree with, not some kind of crazed gay who lashes out at anyone who disagrees or wants to know why. No, certainly not.

                >Aren't they going to run out of equipment meant for their own military?
lmao, no. The Military Industrial Complex is one of the most powerful economic institutions on Earth, and since America isn't in any intense wars right now they're more than happy to keep those factories running supplying Ukraine.

                >Don't they depend on resources from China
Taiwan actually, which is fine by them since the USA can expand its own military granting protection to them as well.

Hmm ok. Isn't the US experiencing a recession and inflation right now? Doesn't that factor into their ability to utilize the "most powerful economic institution on earth"?

                >Why?
Completely different situations. Mariupol was completely surrounded, cut off from supplies, ran out of ammo, faced the full power of fresh russian forces, had to be completely wiped out by massed artillery, and still lasted for months.
Whereas here Russians had direct supply lines, were not surrounded, and either routed or surrendered after a breakthrough.

I really don't see how its more impactful. Maybe if the Ukrainians take as much territory as Russia did in the same amount of time or less it could be, but its too early to say.

                I would say the ones who have these currently are winning;
The initiative (from day one), superior arms, the biggest stake in victory, modern training, civilian support and widespread support from around the world.
I would say the country that has those qualities is winning.

I think its still too early to call it.

                Thanks for the detailed reply.

You can't really "spend your way out of inflation" tho, and actually printing more money for say sending billions to Ukraine, will actually cause inflation to worsen.
You're correct that everyone is suffering under the strain of the dollar. I guess the bet is that it can withstand all this spending and printing, but there are lots of economists who don't sound overly optimistic.

                >and actually printing more money for say sending billions to Ukraine, will actually cause inflation to worsen.
Correct, though I can't speak as to whether that's going to be done via printing. I suspect not given that most of what is being sent is already in the arsenal.

The stuff we're sending is taken out of existing US stockpiles. A lot of it would be past its expiration date within a few years and need to be replaced anyway. As an example, the Russians released a photo of the wreckage of a HARM that they claimed had been intercepted by their air defense. The missile's data plate was clearly visible and said the manufacturer's warranty expired in 1991.
Other things are borderline obsolescent. For instance in 2022, the DoD put out a request for a new MANPADS to replace the Stinger, which is over 40 years old at this point.
Even the GMLRS and ATACMS missiles (both of which are currently in active service with the US military) that Ukraine was given alongside HIMARS are going to start being phased out in favor of the extended range version of the GMLRS and the new PRSM (Precision Strike Missile).
Even with the stuff the US military is planning to keep in service for the foreseeable future has already been paid for. We don't need to order their replacements in a single batch. The cost can be spread out over multiple years' budgets. Assuming we don't wind up in a full-scale war with China or Iran until 2025 or so, the temporary reduction in our wartime reserves won't have any noticeable effects other than increasing the price of Raytheon shares.
Hell, we could give Ukraine a couple of brigades' worth of Abrams tanks just using the spares we've "prepositioned" in European warehouses to use in the event WW3 breaks out on short notice. Provided we have 30-40 days prior warning, we could ship the ones currently being used by the active armor brigades in the continental United States.

tldr; the US military-industrial complex is ridiculously--- almost clownishly--- overpowered.

Putin set out to atomize Russian society and turn it into a place where nobody believes anything.
