Russia loses another ally

So while Russia celebrates gaining 200m in Donbass, Armenia essentially dipped out of CSTO for good. Is Belarus the only country they will be able to host exercises now? Do they even have any allies left in the region?

Not true. Pashinyan and Putin held a meeting on 31st October 2022 in Sochi:
      https://primeminister.am/en/press-release/item/2022/10/31/Nikol-Pashinyan-Vladimir-Putin/

Then there was a CSTO summit in mid November 2022 in Armenia:

Armenia is just doing this to save face. Their lobbyists/activists in the West probably told them to.

Every move Armenia makes is moronic anyways. Their diaspora wants to alienate them from Russia and Iran too; Armenia becomes a landlocked island if that happens.

They picked horrible allies, then they pissed them off, then they anger genocidal turks, and again get BTFO.

Armenia does share a border with Iran, and it's Iran that shares an in-land maritime border with Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

Those are the routes that Russian weapons come from to get to Iran then into Armenia. The Chinese and Indian weapons go through Iran too.

Turkey and Georgia are not allies of Armenia, and Armenia is not an ally of NATO.

Armenia killed their prospects in the 1990s when they chimped out, but they had a chance to join the free world in the 2000s onward but Armenians and their diaspora chose isolationism and browbeating instead and refused to negotiate with their neighbors they have disputes with.

Armenia is the only country in the region with less people today then they did in the 1990s. A large chunk of their population flees overseas, then they support the same isolationism that made them flee in the first place, and it's a never-ending cycle that's ultimately going to end with Armenia having a demographic and a political collapse.

        >what's between Armenia and the sea is Azerbaijan,
Azerbaijan is landlocked as well. The Caspian Sea is a lake. In the east you'd have to cross at least Qazaqstan and China to reach the ocean.

Oh man, I would feel so claustrophobic in a landlocked country, like a subdivided apartment with no direct outside window or door.

Would be cool if Muscovy are beaten back to Moscow and quarantined there. Saint Petersburg might actually be an okay country without Moscow.

No, Azerbaijan is connected to Georgia, which is connected to Turkey, both of whom are litoral states. AZ doesn't rely on impossibly-long eastward routes to the sea like you mention.

That's not connected to mainland Azerbaijan. That's an exclave.
Only the Georgia and Iran routes connect heartland AZ to Turkey.

They were granted a corridor through Armenia after the 2020 war.

But Armenia never implemented it. The 2020 agreement was that there would be negotiations for a corridor but Armenia refused to proceed with it the following two years.

      >Armenia is pissed because russia didn't do anything when ajzerbajan stirred up shit

It's worse than that. Apparently the Russians told Armenia they wouldn't uphold their end of the ceasefire unless they agreed to join the "Union State" and become a Russian vassal, and then MAYBE they would uphold it, provided Armenians made a contribution to the War in Ukraine in return.

      > Armenia is pissed because russia didn't do anything when ajzerbajan stirred up shit
And yet it's Armenia that killed an Azerbaijani general in July 2020 in the NORTH nowhere near Karabakh and surrounding occupied areas. Thereby dramatically escalating tensions.

Even Human Rights Watch says Armenia carried out indiscriminate attacks on Azerbaijani civilian populations during the September/November 2020 war.
