It works resonably well and has been done since before WW2. Pic related is a US air base in Vietnam.
A better option would be to disperse individual aircraft further and not have them lined up like that, but requies infrastructure improvments and logistics, something Russia has neither of.
American domestic bases don't have reinforcements on their ramps either to be fair. It is weird that the Russians wouldn't put up a sandbag wall or stack hesco equivalents as an impromptu solution rather than flimsy wood.
>Those are concrete road dividers. Of course, they're also way too short to really be useful, so it's essentially just more cope.
it depends how the Ukrainians has rigged their meme drones to explode, if its HIMARS styled then these are absolutely worthless, if its just a dumb impact bomb then they might protect some of the neighbouring airframe (emphasis on some)

The dividers are shorter than the planes. Any impact-fuzed ordnance going off in the neighbouring division is going to have shrapnel swiss-cheesing half the plane.
Cope like the cages on the tanks, because they aren't tall enough to actually work correctly, and they should have done it from the first week of the wa when Ukraine started hitting airbase. Western forces covered bases in this stuff to protect against insurgents firing shitting rockets off sandbags
>crafty >cope
Cargo cult, they aren’t tall enough to actually work well, real airbases have barriers so they did the bare minimum to look like they have them too with no thought as to how they are supposed to work.
lmao @ the strategic failure of Russia. During the cold war, Russian drunkards thought these bases would be too far away from the frontline in a NATO-USSR conflict and that these bases would be safe. With the collapse of the USSR and the proliferation of long-range strike capabilities, these so-called "deep" Russian air bases are not safe anymore. And the bases have no hangars or shelters for aircraft. What hindsight, lmao
Yep
Most of the ex soviet or warpact airfields have those
With the lack of threat rushkies just abandoned their own principles because its easier to just bunch them up
At this height?
Basically cargo cult tier.
Still would have preferred if they didn't figure it out at all.
(I mean, it's an ancient fucking precaution, just one of these things that every competent military in the world has been doing for a century, that Russians for some crazy reason had to REDISCOVER.)
They literally have blast barriers incorporated in most of their airfields but no one bothered to look after them so now they have to make shift build new ones right next to them. The amount of retardedness in play here is absolute
Its the absolute minimum due diligence
Fpbp.
The only question is if they are actually worth a damn or made out of their patented cement plated cartboard.

Forgot pic
Do you notice the considerable difference between

?
>US 50 years ago in a country across the planet
>Russia today in their own country

it's because they're stupid. like they haven't figured out shit as basic as "make a basket out of rebar and fill it with crushed rocks"
Phantoms in forest camo are certified kino

It's what should have been done after fucking Millerovo, let alone Saki, let alone Engels. Still, better late than never, I guess.

Most of the NATO airbases in Europe have hardened concrete aircraft shelters

hahaha stupid russian monkeymoron mutts and their retarded vatmorony.
Meanwhile, this is what a random NATO airbase looks like...
haha, looks like a willy
Obviously. Because it's a hardware meant to fuck any enemy
Hahaha, nice.
this is your reminder to regularly check your balls for lumps PrepHole
benis :DDDD
Haha benis :DDD
That's pretty fantastic ngl
Jet fuel is stored in the balls.
cope fences
Well the Soviet air bases did have those mound things and closed hangars. The problem is most of them fell into disrepair.
Yep

Attempts to look crafty but instead look to be cargo cults.

kek, they just stole concrete dividers form some roads as a cope. They are far too short to be usefull.

The cope fence
>a single level of concrete block work
Has russia put any more than minimal effort into anything for this war?
