I dont think there has been a drop in quality with Ruger, just a change in products.
The guns they have been making over the years has stayed the same from everything I have seen, but their newer items are more of the inexpensive budget friendly, higher cap, small size poly framed CC handguns like the LCP max, and Max 9.
I really like the ranch rifle I picked up this summer. Good value, Ruger spent money in the right places.

I fricking love Ruger Wrangler! Anyone who says this is inaccurate or thought that filing down the front sight is a good idea....frick off back to semi automatic you dumb c**t. This revolver is a sniper in a tank body.
Opposite If anything. There's a night and day quality difference between my 6 or 7yr old LCP 2 and my new LCP max. Part of that's probably just due to price difference, but the max is still pretty cheap in the pocket gun market and the quality doesn't really leave anything to desired by the reasonable consumer. Not to shit talk the LCP 2 too much or anything, mines been shockingly reliable, it's just got a cheaper feel, sub par finish, and shows wear more quickly than I'd expect from most poly framed handguns(particularly on the metal parts)
I think their BX-15s and BX-25s have improved in quality if anything. Not only is the .22 case trick not necessary anymore, it's not even possible in modern ones due to a smaller gap between the nub on the follower and the ring that holds the coiled up flat clock-style spring. Need to be cleaned constantly for use in cold weather, but so does their 10/22. IIRC an anon explained why in a thread yesterday; it's mostly the wax and dirtiness of .22lr ammo in general. But warm weather, it's much better IMO.
I kinda want a ruger guide gun in 30-06 but after owning and selling off my ruger scout im hesitant. The scout had a sticky bolt when cycled to hard or fast, so not exactly ideal in a charging bear situation.
Anyone have any experience with the ruger guide guns? Or would i be better off with a winchester?
Anon Ruger is fine and IMO the most based American firearms manufacturer >wide variety of quality funs at a competitive price >revolvers are built like tanks with no Hillary hole >10/22 is the gold standard for semiauto .22 rifles > Mark series are the gold standard for semiauto .22 pistols > Mini-14/Mini-30 were a great everyman option back when ARs/AKs were rare and expensive > M77 and Ruger American are solid, affordable bolt actions > Ruger No. 1 is one of the nicest single shot rifles you can buy > Ruger MPR is a great first AR, AR556 is breddy gud too >LCP is a great pocket semi, LCR is a great pocket revolver > Wrangler has ugly cerakote but is a lot of fun > several budget pistol models that are ugly but work and are better than a Taurus/some ring of fire bullhsit
luv me Ruger, simple as

Based
When did you buy them?
The 22 was like 20 years ago the bolt gun was a year or two ago it has been exceedingly impressive for the price.

I own a 10/22 and a mini-30, both purchased since 2020, they are both fine.
iunno man my 2020 panic-era ruger ar15 does (barely) sub MOA with 5.56 77gr SMKs and I've popped out 1.5" groups with american eagle .223 55'ers
