Not at any time soon. The Polish produced K2 will not be introduced until 2027

      https://www.defenseromania.ro/aflat-pe-lista-de-dorinte-a-ministerului-apararii-este-testat-in-romania-la-poligonul-din-smardan_628321.html
Here's the original source so don't fume out, Hans. Btw the demonstration was preannounce a month ago.

As far as I understand, the K2PL project is currently at a standstill.
The initial plan was to use Korean loans to build the industrial base necessary for K2PL production, but South Korea is only willing to provide loans for the purchase of Korean made K2 tanks. No other country is willing to finance the project (i.e., the loan from the U.S. can only be used to purchase American equipment).

In the future, 3 scenarios are possible, but for now it is not clear which one is the most likely:
      >Poland finances K2PL on its own.
      >Korea provides the loan
      >K2PL dies

Actually, the negotiation went well and the only ongoing discussion as of now is where the plant will be built.

Here's the time schedule for K2PL. Nothing has been changed except for a year delay in overall status.

As far as i understand the production will be spread over multiple factories as every company wants a piece of this pie. So WZM, Bumar, HSW, Cegielski etc will be all involved in production. So many actors involved will prolong the negotiations, but should quicken the production. In theory.

Brand new Leopards or K2 are a far worse option to 2nd hand amerimutt garbage that can only be repaired by a team of engineers from General Dynamics

Yes here also the yoke of western capitalism imperialism has been deployed against the honest workers of my oblast as the mcflurry machine is broken again. The boot of the American military is truly on the necks of all children in my oblast. How evil NATO is! When will it end!

When they get the K2s would it be worth sending the TR-85s to Ukraine?

We're already sending tons of free shit to Ukraine. If we haven't sent them already it means they didn't ask (Biden) for them yet.

Big brain move would be for the US to fund the fleet replacement so that we can send more armor to Ukraine. Sure we miss out on the potential sale of a couple hundred Abrams, but its a loan so we make our money back with interest and we get to free up armor for Ukraine.

I've believed for a while now that the
gypsy problem notwithstanding Romania has the potential to become another Poland: a former Eastern Bloc country with a surprisingly strong and fast-growing economy with living standards similar to Western Europe. They're definitely not there yet but they're on the right track.
