Assisting their Moldovan brothers in dealing with the blight of Transnistria

      1. Getting rid of all their old soviet junk as it's starting to reach end of life. They retired their Mig 21 fleet this month, being the last operators of it in Europe. I'm guessing they're splurging big bucks on top-tier new stuff because it'll be cheaper in the long term if it can all last for another 30-40 years.

      2. This guy has it right:

When the war in Ukraine finally concludes with an inevitable collapse of the Russian state, it'll be time to anschluss Moldova. Doing so will involve helping Moldova get rid of the Russian puppet republic in Transnistria.

Modernizing their military which mostly fields obsolete soviet era trash.

We're at a weird moment in history because 80% of the world's nations were once armed with Russian weapons but they're finally rusting into oblivion

Anyone who can, buys American, but otherwise it seems that France, South Korea and Turkey are taking up the slack, and oddly enough China isn't - they'd be the natural successor to the Soviets arming the world but for the most part they just don't, their massive arms industry almost solely exists for the use of the PLA

When Transistria started agitating last summer both Ukraine and Romania moved forces real close and stated that they will not allow Moldova to be Crimea'd.

I was getting hard for that front to be opened but of course it petered out again

Maybe when the taiwan shit starts in earnest transsistria will kick off too, would be laff

          Transnistria will never open up.

Belgorod just did, though. That might be fun.

They're surrounded by hostile countries with no way of receiving supplies or military support. They're in an even worse spot than kaliningrad.

Transnistria has no actual chance of attacking anyone, and nobody wants to attack them either.
It will peter out through political means, same as Moldova.

We've had 54 HIMARS for years now. That order was fullfiled a long time ago. We're also buying F-35s. Militarisation is going well, our prime minister is also an army general so the budget got approved instantly.

We've been sending 4 cargo trains a day to them since last year. All military equipment. The Bayraktars entered Ukraine that way.

It's amazing how living under the thumb of Soviets for a generation or two created almost universal hate across virtually every ethnic group in Europe, even the other Slavs. Gotta hand it to the Russians, they know how to inspire people.

Bullshit. The TB2 drones get delivered by cargo plane from Turkey to Poland and then into Ukraine.
The Turkish armored vehicles go by freight train from Turkey through Bulgaria and Romania into Ukraine.

      >The Romanians and Poles are to do the heavy lifting against Russia Proper when the war really starts.

This is the actual reason. The states closest to Russia will bear the brunt, and Russia realistically will not get past them. They'll be stuck fighting like they are in Ukraine.

Romania won't be doing nearly much as you think they would. They're an EU state with a massive emigrant population. The ones still in the country would run to Western and Central Europe at the first sight of war.
Romania's military and inventory is a mess, and they still use 5.45x39mm.

        > and they still use 5.45x39mm.
They were one of the big adopters of it. They still make AKs in their same old factory. Cheaper and easier to stick with 5.45 but now they’re adopting Berreta’s fish gun so 5.56 is on the menu.

China exports many weapons to Asian nations. From their puppet Narco state in Burma, to Pakistan, Malaysia, Laos, Iran, and a whole slew of African countries and other middle eastern ones.

Last year they had a realization that they can actually buy enough weapons to deter Russian intervention. It is not as expensive as thought. And since Russian plans showed an intent to manufacture a troonysister crisis why not prepare a bit

and you thought why exactly they were admitted to NATO?
Central-eastern Europe has history of being battleground with some short paused between the wars - and militaries that would seem seem to be oversized in the west are insufficient in eastern mentality...
as they were either fighting for survival of being conquered and waiting for a chance to strike back throughout their histories... perfect consumers for Western MIC i would say.

If there is one thing that I wish my country would give up, is its dumb relationship with France.
I fricking hate French fricking scumbags that come here to do nothing but rape our country while the government keeps signing these moronic contracts with them.

We wanted Corvettes from the Dutch, french Black folk intervened, bribed officials and "won" a contract which they still haven't delivered on.

We wanted to make a big factory with Bell helicopters, French Black folk intervened, bribed officials and sold us like 2 shit naval helicopters.

We wanted several midget submarines, hopefully with the Swedes, French Black folk intervened and sold us 2 massive piece of shit Scorpenes that we don't need for 2 FRICKING BILLION DOLLARS!!!
