Roman kurmaz gear

Has anybody bought those custom not crye gear? How are they and do they hold up well compared to the original crye or even standard military uniforms?

      You could do it yourself.
Get some Airforce tiger stripes and some RIT dye, probably Apple Green, and then dye them.
Pic related is a guy who did exactly that.

They're good. Mine have held up flawlessly under heavy but infrequent use running around an >airsoft field and fucking around innawoods.
Chest material on mine seems to be regular cotton as opposed to the Drifire wicking material that Crye uses - it's bright under IR but not actively glowing. Camouflage and nylon portions don't have any issues under NV, however.
    t. bought a pair in tigerstripe secondhand off eBay

Everyone here will shit on me, but Rothco is a good company for just regular BDU's if you are not afraid to not look like mega elite Xxx_Le.Epic.Operator_xxX

They have BDU tops and bottoms in most patterns and all sized for like $60 - $100, and it's all made in the U.S.A.
Most of which is GI spec since Rothco has been a supplier to the Marine Corps and Navy since the late 80's.
Some people call BS on this, but my issued USMC field jacket says "Manufactured by Rothco in Long Island, NY"

They are good, but others hate them since it's the same as milsurp. It's just actual GI shit, except new.

      >this retard thinks "manufactured by" means "made in USA"
are you actually underaged? Companies have been been claiming their shit is "manufactured in the us" for decades, it means nothing unless it says "made in the usa" because "manufactured" has no legal requirement
      it's chinese made

Rothco BDUs cost around the same retail price as fresh military uniforms bought on the military market. They are not "cheap" and you can get cheaper BDUs by buying military surplus for like $20.

Nah, Rothco is just shit. If you want better budget brands there's always Propper and Truspec. I also swear by 5.11 Stryke pants since I've never had them catastrophically detonate during use like my Vertx Recon pants which had the same fuck up my Rothco BDUs did. You don't need to drop a mint, just don't buy shit.

I ran into the same thing with Arktis. I bought two jackets from them the only difference being one was small and the other medium because I wanted to try both on. One of them had a tag on it that said "Made in the UK", the other didn't. I emailed them and asked about it and they admitted some of their stuff is made in Pakistan. It's like, you'd think they would do an entire pattern's line in one place. These jackets were the same color, same type, everything except for the size and they were making the small in the UK and the Medium in Pakistan.

Some companies just make their commercial products else where for cheap. Propper does this with their commercial BDUs where its probably manufactured in some Caribbean country while the military issued ones are manufactured at home

No, i bought their shit and they all have the shitty made in china label.

Rothcos sizing is hilariously bad. I bought an M65 from them knowing it runs large so I bought a small, and it's still baggier than my medium military issue one. Truspec and Propper are miles better for that application.

rothco is NYC garden gnomes selling shitty Chinese knockoffs

Why the fuck would you ever by Rothco Chinesium knockoffs when you can get mint-condition original BDUs for 20 bucks a pop, or 40-50 for a field jacket? Did Chairman Mao's rotting corpse force you at gunpoint to write this post?

Another thing is that surplus BDUs are made with NYCO or even 100% cotton. Rothco is just shitty polyester and cotton.

I owned a pair of Rothco BDU pants that split from knee to crotch the second time I work them to airshit. I was on a good winning streak, so I played through with my dick and balls in the wind. Rothco is shit.

My rothco pants had shitty buttons along with the pockets/crotch ripping itself apart.

I don't have his pants yet but I bought a plate carrier he made. It's held up great over the past 5 years or so. Roman is a cool guy, would recommend.

No that was frogskin, wineleaf didn't exist until 1953 and was mainly used for helmet covers during Vietnam

Bought Crye reproduction Concamo Brown pants and shirt off of him, they are crafted excellent. My only concern is IR signature, everything else was superb. Wish he had a real website because communicating over faceberg is cancer.

Yea, heard that his gear is somewhat decently made. The main issue is that its glows under IR, but not too much.
