moron here. Isn't it better to leave the river escape route intact? The soldiers can escape but they can't take their vehicles and heavy equipment with them. Cutting off the escape route completely will just make them fight to the death
moron here. Isn't it better to leave the river escape route intact? The soldiers can escape but they can't take their vehicles and heavy equipment with them. Cutting off the escape route completely will just make them fight to the death
Leave a fraction of crossings intact, the resulting scramble to cross them will do more damage than any final stand defense.
>Cutting off the escape route completely will just make them fight to the death
No, it will leave them without supply and have them surrender. POW conventions have ensured that surrendering to Western affiliated forces is a vastly superior choice than fighting to death.
>POW conventions have ensured that surrendering to Western affiliated forces is a vastly superior choice than fighting to death.
Brought to you by the guys who shoot POW's in the knee and stab their eyes for fun before calling their widows to brag about it
Never happened, but they deserved it anyway
the only calling of mothers I've seen in the ukies calling the moms of 17yo conscripts to come pick the brats up
There was that radio DJ trolling the mom of some vatnik, pretending to be someone from the Russian MoD calling to tell her her son died. Dunno if the kid really died or if he just picked some kid's profile at random off VK and looked up the kid's mom's phone number.
Whether real or not, the Russians deserve every bit of psychological warfare that Ukrainians can throw at them.
Not real but it should be and they deserve it.
Lies, but I wish they weren't because Russians deserve it.
That only works if they don't believe the Russian party line of le ebil HATO wants to genocide glorious Rossiya
1) You can't set up a valve to let supply amnpower and materials only go one way. Destroying the bridges mean no reinforcements are coming.
2) If you can entirely destroy an enemy force, is that no better than letting some forces escape and regroup
3) Not offering routes of retreat is not equivalent to offering no quarter. The hope would be that some Russians would surrender rather than fight to the death
*supply, manpower

Wrong, stupid vatBlack person. I'm on the frontlines conducting another counteroffensive.
> but you can't slaughter them to the last man that way
Infantry can swim or take rafts across if they really want to flee.
They need the bridges and barges for their equipment and supplies.
While the bridges are fricked an unusable for traffic I'm pretty sure soldiers could still just walk over them if they had to.
Can't swim with a toilet
They are gonna take all those washing machines and use them as rafts

Swim over Dnipro? lol
It's less than a mile across at the widest point, the average uninjured soldier should be able to swim that. But then the Russians have been pulling people out of retirement homes for this so maybe not.
>Cutting off the escape route completely
Vatnigs can swim.
Dnieper river is 400m wide, some vatnigs probably can’t swim and they certainly can’t take equipment all the way over.
They would have to grab some pool noodles or something.
>inb4 Discount Dunkirk

Holy frick my sides

Washing machines don't float?
Actually....some might if you lock the door and cork the hoses.
you'd need to also remove motor and counterweight
>and they certainly can’t take equipment
that's the fricking point genius

>Training starts... Now.
> The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues
You say that like Russian soldiers drowning attempting to flee isn't a desirable outcome.
>400m wide
In the village where I grew up, everyone (and I mean *everyone*) above 6 participates in the Lake's Crossing. The lake in question is 5 km wide, but its shaped like an 8, so we start from one shore of the smaller loop and cross to the other side of the same loop, its about 1.2 km.
We do it twice a summer. My first crossing was at 6 and it took me an hour and 15 minutes.
>Starshini, I cannot swim with your washer-dryer combination on my back!
>Shut up, Private, you will bring my lootings home for me or die in attempting!
This is too real for anybody who has served under commie or even ex-commie conscript armies.
Why is swimming 400m difficult?
Swimming 400 meters in a pool is easy. But swimming 400 meters against a big river current trying to sweep you away is another thing all together.
Will they hurry up and win or lose this war? Tired of seeing all this Ukraine shit.
>noooo I miss old /k/ where's my 10,000 armatard threads, China good US bad right guys?

So more dead Russians? I call that a win

Inhulets isn't particularly impressive as far as rivers go. You can easily swim it even if you're not fit and your greatest swimming achievement is being able to doggie-paddle.
Dniepr/Dnipro is also at its narrowest in Kherson, the the river delta itself having lots of islands, as deltas are prone to. Also Dniepr itself isn't particularly fierce of a river. For the most part it is a very lazy river. Any lad that isn't out of shape can swim it. At least, I did between the ages of 12 and 16. Although admittedly that was several hundred Km north of Kherson, and I was a very good swimmer (train in olympic pool since child). Get a couple of kiddie floaters or even a large piece of styrofoam and crossing it becomes EZ PZ.
Of course, you're not bringing any equipment across. Probably not even your boots.
The Dnipro at Kherson is fast-moving enough to make it dangerous to cross in a freakin' BMP or BTR, let alone swim.
More dangerous than having grenades dropped on them while taking a shit?
That's presuming any of these guys know how to swim, they're in good physical condition and aren't wounded. Even then, at the scale of tens of thousands, you're talking about hundreds of casualties and dozens of fatalities, if we're being charitable. They'd have to abandon everything... Up to and including their boots. Depending on how cold the water is this time of year, you'll have issues. Poor nutrition and a lack of proper hydration will likely exacerbate such an attempt.
An army telling its soldiers to abandon all of its kit, weapons, vehicles, food, loot and equipment and swim for their lives is not an army anymore. It is a route. A refugee column.

are you fricking on drugs? both sides of the river have over 30 different ports and 3 fricking pontoon bridges. not to mention air superiority of russian forces..
Russia's still building their first Pontoon bridge. They haven't even started on a second or third one.
And Russia doesn't have air superiority either.
>Russia's still building their first Pontoon bridge.
the are using one of it already for civilian transportation. two others are north and southwards. additionally they are using two ferries.
Ukies keep sending their soldiers to the meat grinder while russians didn't even declared war yet, when ukraine falls it's going to be a massive blunder fro the western world that ruined their economies and depleted their military equipment over nothing, only served to make russia more independent and experienced.

>experienced
You need to be alive to be experienced. Ask the VDV about experience.
I gotchu senpai
Silly vatnik, everybody knows meatgrinder metaphor is only used against Russians, is used to illustrate willingness of Russian elites to sacrifice vast numbers of Russian troops to cover their strategic weakness - russians don't get to use the meatgrinder, just get pushed through it. Pls don't appropriate this term anymore thx.
>Russian elites
Can Russia really be said to have elites? Doesn't elite imply a separate class born to power with more access to education and other opportunities? Going back to Stalin, Russia usually just has a thug that has beaten down the other thugs.
Not always. Warlord states and juntas don't require an elite social class, just an elite political class.

Only photo from the Ukrop side, showing their own forces coming under artillery fire in an open field.
Not looking good Hohylbros.
Kino pic anon, thanks for sharing
that pic is WW2 tier kino holy heck

Looks more like their troops pushing into a position on the heels of an artillery barrage.

it's either supporting fire or obscuration
Kino. It looks just like the flag
whoops, picture got cut off.
This is the kind of photography that's gonna be in textbooks in 10/20 years
I think they kind of expected coming under artillery fire. That is normal for a fricking war.
They can probably cross bridges on foot, maybe on light vehicles too. I don't think we've seen fully collapsed bridges on the area.
Russians are not going to fight to the death.

So you agree Russia/Belarus/AsianShithole are currently worse shitholes, yet you stay? You could have left 10 years ago and had a way better life.
There's a reason your Oligarchs never stay home.
The only people with money who stay in Russia are those who are only able to make/keep their money by staying in Russia (mob/government/warlords).
Even then the inner circle usually spend most of their time in non-shithole countries.

>Entire article is about how Russia doesn't need to sell gas
No one is buying Russian gas anyways, dumbass. The whole article is a fricking cope because no one has been buying your gas since the start of the invasion.
https://www.csis.org/analysis/can-russia-execute-gas-pivot-asia
>Once the Power of Siberia pipeline reaches its capacity, Russia could be delivering nearly 60 bcm to China (assuming existing LNG flows to Asia remain). Russia also sells around 20 bcm of LNG to Europe. This LNG comes from projects in the north (Yamal) and west (Vysotsk and Portovaya). For the projects in the west, near Saint Petersburg, Europe is the natural market. For the LNG flowing out of the Yamal Peninsula, Europe is a year-round destination, while Asia receives more gas when the northern sea route is navigable. At an added cost, however, all these volumes could end up in Asia. Together, they could help Russia sell around 80 bcm into Asia—all without new projects.
>Russia typically sells 160 to 200 bcm to Europe on an annual basis. With existing infrastructure, Russia could deliver 80 bcm to Asia, split between pipeline gas and LNG. Some upside to this figure is possible. NOVATEK could complete the first train of Arctic 2, and maybe, over time, the other two trains. Russia could expand its pipeline exports to China, although the big prize, Power of Siberia 2, faces uncertain prospects. Russia is unlikely to sell as much gas to Asia as it does to Europe now. But it could close the gap; it is possible to imagine scenarios where Russia sells 100 to 120 bcm to Asia by 2030. This would be a remarkable accomplishment given where Russia was a decade ago.
Russia is making record profits with oil and gas sales while europe is not sure if it'll keep its industry running and people warm during winter, pathetic.

You genuinely have to be moronic to believe this.
Do you also believe all the ammo dumps that keep getting destroyed are due to smoking accidents?
Do you even keep up with the oil and gas prices mutt?
No one is buying Russian oil, vatnig.
You literally lost most of your customers when you started the invasion.
And before this moron says "muh China" they will put pressure on low prices because they know Russia is basically only selling oil to them.
And this is from may, exports may well have increased now that india is selling russian oil to europe to make some profit 🙂
Except they're not, vatBlack person moron. Because the Europeans aren't buying russian oil, wether from Russia itself or from secondary sellers. Also, you braindead morons don't actually have the infrastructure to sell and deliver worthwhile amounts to India - and that was before the overwhelming majority of the world's maritime shipping capacity started refusing to transport russian cargo.

End of July. It was a good read.
Unlike your paper, all the articles talking about how well Russia is doing only care about budget surplus and (official) GDP size.

Meanwhile in reality, nobody except vatBlack person shills and russian government propaganda thinks that Europe will have any trouble keeping people warm or industry running this winter. Meanwhile, nobody except vatBlack person shills and russian state propaganda is sure wether Russia will be able to keep people warm and prevent outright famine within a year or two.
Do you even keep up with Russias actual, measurable oil and gas income, subhuman moron? Wait, don'*t answer that, we all know the answer is "No" already.

Reminder that The Economist is literally owned and run by the Rothschild family.

I can't believe Ukraine took 50,000 Russians prisoner. How are they going to feed 30,000 Russian prisoners? Why should they shelter 12,000 Russian prisoners? How many of those 6,000 Russians are going to get exchanged?
>we don't need to export gas to Europe
>we don't need to sell fighter jets to India
>we don't need to sell conscript boipuccia to sex tourists
>let the troops escape
No, not in this situation. Both sides are suffering from serious manpower issues BUT the Russian manpower issue is worse. They still have ridiculous amounts of Soviet stockpiles they’re busily making ready, so losing heavy equipment is less of a problem for Russia. That manpower-equipment imbalance is the guiding concept of the BCT itself. So it’s imperative that Ukraine kills Russian manpower.
Now, speaking of infowar. The Russian infowar against Ukrainian defenders promising good pow treatment and constantly appealing to them to surrender was super effective. This is very likely what defeated Azovstal and destroyed the Azov, which were Ukraine’s best most motivated troops. Ukraine needed to take a similar approach which would have had a huge impact by now…but they just won’t or can’t. When history looks back on this war I bet academia will point to Russia’s propaganda efforts on the battlefield to be a decisive factor.
Firstly, most of Avov was at Kharkov, not Mariupol. Secondly, the only reason they surrendered was running out of ammo. Thirdly, are we now talking of the same Russian armed forces here, who castrate POWs with boxcutters and impale them on stakes; posting videos and pictures of both?
Why would they fight to the death when they can just surrender en masse?
>for a year
That's nice, vatBlack person. The EU meanwhile can stop buying russian gas and oil forever, to catastrophic consequences for Russia.
>can

Anything else?
Yes, empty phrases like that are all vatBlack folk have. Meanwhile, Russia getting its oil and gas sales cut off forever and facing the msot catastrophic economic crash of the century is the cold, hard, factually undeniable reality.
Deal with it, vatBlack person.
>cold, hard, factually undeniable reality
Damn, just like the counteroffensives. IT'S OVER.
>The EU meanwhile can stop buying russian gas and oil forever, to catastrophic consequences for Russia.
Our gas storage is reasonably full, but it will still be a tough year if we cut out Russian gas entirely: https://agsi.gie.eu/
While we don't necessarily risk having people sitting in the cold, our industry & agriculture will suffer from it. Both need massive amounts of gas, either as a fuel or as a derivative (such as ammonia based fertilizer).
>No one is buying Russian oil, vatnig.
Oil export never really stopped, dude. Not like we saw in gas.
The import ban by sea will only hit by the end of the year. And the landbased pipelines are excluded from the ban.
India and China may have a large hunger for oil & gas, neither of those countries have the infrastructure needed to come close to the volumes of what Europe used to buy. Building that infrastructure will likely take over a decade. To compound that problem, you also have to keep in mind that no one paid more for Russian gas & oil per unit than what Europe did. India & China will never agree to paying remotely what we are.
Russia can easily bridge that decade, because it is self-sufficient in terms of agriculture. However, in terms of technology, Russia is a shithole, and that will be felt by the common people. China and India will no doubt alleviate some of that, but it'll still be painful.
Man you people. The Pentagon, from the first few weeks, analyzed the Russian supply problems. Remember? They concluded that logistics were fricked up, BUT that was a self-inflicted issue that they were expected to fix over time. This was before the propaganda messaging was fully aligned so it was possible for the Pentagon to offer unfiltered analysis like that.
They improved things by shortening their supply lines (abandoning their "feint") and operating under cover of massed artillery that was supplied with trains and heavy road-bound trucks. That amount of boom boom required huge depots, those depots are now getting btfo by MLRS. Whole new logistical nightmare.
>Cutting off the escape route completely will just make them fight to the death
Or surrender.
keep poking the globohomosexual bear and you Black folk will see what a real invasion is supposed to look like
The other thing I’m tired of explaining. Sanctions. They hurt Russia, but NOT to the level they would hurt other countries. Why? Because Russia is an oil state. The ruling group (Putin’s circle of friends and major oligarchs) never bothered developing the Russian economy with their energy rents. That surplus money mostly went into palaces, yachts, private jets, vacation homes, money laundering ventures and so on. Also paying bribes and generally supporting the "systema". And finally, pumping hundreds of billions into foreign cash reserves. Russia did develop but very slowly and not to anything like the degree it should have. So, sanctions which would have crushed a European nation and forced a regime change by industry figures on the brink of ruin — only "hurt" minor oligarchs and regular Russians. Undoubtedly some pain is being felt by Putin’s circle and they want out from under those sanctions, but it’s NOT enough to break them from Putin’s "systema". Even cutting off European gas, the bedrock of the systema is made up for partially by the massive increase is fuel prices so it can keep going for a while like this.
So yes you can look at individual industries in Russia and jack yourself off to how they’re being ruined but that does NOT equal damage to the power structure nor does it significantly impact its ability to continue the war.
I wouldn't be surprised if the average Russian thinks the Broken Window economic fallacy isn't actually a fallacy.

Do you not trust the Russian MoD? They managed to find and kill a HIMARS that teleported to the second story of an apartment building, show some respect!
Like when they said they werent going to invade? Or when they said the moskva didnt sink?, or when they said the moskva sank on its own? Or when they said the crimean air base exploded on its own?
Its honestly incredible how much the russians lie, their lies are always incredibly stupid and easy to debunk and they lie about the dumbest shit they dont even need to lie about
Its seriously impressive, almost as if they are physically incapable of telling the truth and its baffling
imagine the timeline where someone in russia manages to squeeze out a coherent thought and postpone the invasion after all those news.
discredit literally every mainstream news outlet and intelligence agency in the west, invade a bit later with way better results
a literal moron would run a country better than russians do
Can somebody copy this comment from /misc/ and put it over all the times RT and Russia lied please?
/pol/sisters....
Oh no no no ahahahhahaha
Damn, this invasion has gotten /misc/ to hate Nazism and embrace Communism?
funniest thing to come out of this war shows how spineless they are
/misc/ wants mongols and churkas to kill europeans
they never gave a shit about Nazism, they were "Nazis" because it was the opposite of "the Libs."
They're now Pro-Russian, and because coasting off the "glory" of the Soviet Union is part of what vatniks jerk themselves off over, they now jerk themselves off over it too; just to be contrarian partisan homosexuals.
More likely they saw that the battle for the west is lost and its best to be destroyed than fricked to death, while this board showed what progressive homosexuals they were, especially after the reddit invasion.
More like /misc/ realized that "Based Putin" and the "Based Trad Russian World" was just as fricked up as the west was.
So now they've given up.
They realized they had only three choices, Globohomo, Gulaghomo, or -2 Social Credit
The only hope for the west is 50% of the population dying, maybe more
>they had only three choices, Globohomo, Gulaghomo, or -2 Social Credit
or as they used to be known: Oceania, Eurasia, or Eastasia
I choose globohomo
/misc/ was compromised by the fsb a long time ago
They were nazis because the Kremlin wanted them to be nazis, but now the Kremlin wants them to be something else so they are
It ultimately shows that deep down /misc/ is simply about their desire to be hated by the libs and to feel miserable in a world owned by Libs.
It's an enmasculation fetish, they claim they hate the gay pride parades, the drag queen story hour, BLM getting away with doing whatever they want, but they so get off on seeing it.
They have become so like the Vatniks that Kermit-anon talked about, deep down they support Authortarianism because they want to be dominated.
In hating tumblr they have become tumblr
>
>deep down they support Authortarianism
No shit, you're telling the board that worships Hitler likes fascism deep down? I for one always thought american democracy was homosexual shit, and I'm proven right everyday
Wrong type, /misc/ pretends they want Authoritarianism because they want to be on top.
But really it's more correct, in how you whine and seethe and seek out every chance to prove the west is lost, that you actually want to be subjugated.
You want Globohomosexual to kick in your door, drag you to the pod, and make you eat the bugs.
I don't get the whole globohomosexual wants you to eat bugs thing. /misc/ loves jerking off china now but rural Chinese literally eat bugs.
Charles Schwab mindbroke millions with his high-brow shitposts
The WEF lives rent free in the head of /misc/
They're not quite wrong on the WEF especially in regards to the push in banning ice vehicles and mandating ev's all while the electrical grid is nowhere near ready to handle that kind of electrical demand. However they are too stupid to realize that Putin was also part of the WEF, and Russia is corrupt and incompetent.
Even funnier given the whole Christian LARP. John the Baptist ate just locust and wild honey.
Tomorrow's casualties for Ukraine are going to be bad!

in this situation i dont think you play with a variable like that. you just take it out. the video of some of them stripping and trying to swim across is just too valuable

We haven't seen the Russians do that too often in this war, they surrender mostly when they can't fall back. I'd bet that's what UA is trying to get them to do here.

>Now suddenly according to them Ukrainian counteroffensive has failed 12 hours into it.
What did they mean by this?
Where are this dudes eyebrows? Is this a hormonal thing?
>Where are this dudes eyebrows?
They were raised so much due to the lack of mobilisation that they ended up on the moon
"We will raise our eyebrow and everything will be clear"
But seriously, he has no beard either, almost totally smooth.
This could be a hormone thing, right?
It's a photoshop.
This is Strelkov (not his real name). He used to be big in Russian spy circles. He did some work in the Balkans, he did some false-flag bombings, he did a lot of other stuff for Putin, including setting upthe separatist republics and shooting down MH-17.
Even before falling from grace, he has called Putin and everybody else in power complete morons that are destroying Russia.
Recently, one of Strelkov's former minions decided to get back at him by spreading a fake about Strelkov getting caught trying to smuggle himself into Ukraine. That's where that photo is from.
I don't believe you, Ivan.
You guys lie all the time.
Ivan is busy.
This is Pyotr.
Is this a stealth PROMOTION post? Frickin ancientgays.
He's telling the truth tough.
There is actually a lot of variation in eyebrows. They can range from really thick and bushy (and sometimes in odd positions, like lower than normal) to a thin strip that you see in most people to just not fricking there. Humans in general have a really odd relationship with hair genetics. Just look at baldness or the inability to grow beards. We think there is some universal standard, but there isn't.
G.I. Jane with the guy filter turned on.
If Ukraine can destroy all the bridges then destroying all the bridges is the best move.
On the other hand, if Ukraine proves to be unable to do so, then it is better to leave the enemy with an escape route than to force them to fight to the death
Some russians are evacuating from belgorod
do this vatniks really think Ukraine is going to push into russian territory?>
Ukraine has an 8-year track record of shelling civilians
Depending on how you want to count Russia has a thirty year history of shelling civilians or a couple hundred years.
I fricking wish Ukraine would shell russians (and that the West would let them)
>muh donbas genocide
never happened, cope and seethe
Post the number morons. You might learn something in the process.
>City that isn’t in a shithole country looks good
>City in a shithole country looks like shit
Amazing, right?
Both of those are Ukraine though
Donetsk hasn’t been since 2014
did they not have buildings before 2014?
Ah yes, during the brutal attack from Ukraine they assembled whole cities using Russian might da
homie, there's no definition of the word "shithole" that doesn't include the DPR.
Vatniks are starting to sound like muh 6 gorillion.
hahaha lmao
Now I finally get this whole "banana"-shit.
in russian its "banan"
that poor girl
She will make fine prostitute. Both parents can eat well on her earnings.
They already attacked the place like five times, just military targets like the fuel and ammo depots and such but I suppose they don't want to take chances of getting mogged due a faulty HIMARS guidance system.
The Republic of Belegrod will be liberated soon.
Yes and no. On the one hand, if you can capture them it is much better than them retreating to fight another day. They won't fight to the death if you have a history of not castrating prisoners.
Uhh globohomosexual sisters? Wasn't Russia supposed to be on the verge of collapse?
>russia is making more money than ever
>help us africa, ask nato to remove sanctions
>help us to bypass sancitons iraq (or -an, I cant remember)
>please buy our oil and gas dear china and india, at discount
Russia is making MORE money at THIS moment because EU is stockpiling on russian gas in preperations to cut it.
>because EU is stockpiling on russian gas in preperations to cut it.
This is what cope looks like ladies and gentlemen.
it's already cut
We're not talking about your dick
>at THIS moment
Either that videos is from a month and a half ago, or it's outright wrong.
Russia "at this moment" is making less than a quarter of what they were making during the srping. They were already down by 75% earlier this month, but now storages are getting full and gas prices for next month are already going down.
and this is what's going on in europe right now
>those names

I really cant believe vatniks were brainwashed enough to believe that "nAzI bAnDeRaS" are coming for them
> Isn't it better to leave the river escape route intact?
Is just an illusion of choice.
They can stay and fight to dead or escape and get shelled to dead
They can flee by boat.
Offensive started.
If even Rybar admit something is happening this must be bad for Russia.
I wonder how far they'll go to be honest.
not a doomer but realistically once they get to the Dnieper there will be a pause, so that is the furthest they could realistically push in one go.
let's see if it amounts to anything. this shit has been hyped up for months now. it'll probably be a a few days until non-shill garbage is out there.
This war has taught me one thing: Never ever get your hopes up. Doesn't matter if you are pro-RU, pro-UA or anything in between and beyond. It's war. Celebrate afterwards, but getting your hopes up during the whole thing will only disappoint you.
Ukraine has shown a fantastic defense so far, but we have no idea about their offensive capabilities. Let's wait for a few days and see what this amounts to. With my current knowledge (mostly interviews with high ranking Ukies und Russians + various OSINT stuff) I really don't see any quick advance and/or massive territorial gains for the Ukies. Let's hope I am wrong on this one.
>inb4 demoralisation shill
Making good cash and directly supporting a volunteer group. You should do the same tbqh.
>Ukraine has shown a fantastic defense so far
Advancing towards Kiev isn't "fantastic" for the defender.
All in the context. The fact they went from an almost completely unprepared south, being one of the poorest and most corrupt shitholes and being overrun on all fronts, to slowing down the Russians and even creating a bit of a stalemate is nothing short of impressive.
Commies didn't even fight to the death in 1941, so why would they do so here ?
I've been tuned out of this over the summer. can I get an update on what happened to Kharkiv, was it another "feint" ?
Of course.
Russia loses = feint, gesture of goodwill, hohol propaganda
Russia wins = ALL ACCORDING TO KEIKAKU
Russians tried a push, nothing happened.
Allowing an enemy to flee is advantageous for smaller battles with active fighting.A soldier that is still in battle is more likely to fight to the death when he can’t run.For modern large scale strategical warfare it‘s best to cut off the enemy from reinforcements and supplies. And then force units to surrender while they are demoralized and unable to continue to fight after they lost and retreated from the the smaller pitched battles.Soldiers can still retreat from active combat but not far enough to escape the encirclement.Allowing the enemy to retreat in such a case would allow them to resupply and counter attack.
can't we just ban vatBlack folk from the internet already?
Lets hope they're all banned from real life with a bullet through the head
Russia already cut off most of the websites to its population. Only ones with full (legal) connections are the state propaganda troll farms. Not sure how well they've locked it down; ordinary citizens may be able to get through to some sites with proxies and VPNs.
>Cutting off the escape route completely will just make them fight to the death
Ukraine hasn't posted videos of castrating prisoners so mass surrender is a strong possibility
This is true, but only for enemies who know they will receive no quarter. History is rife with examples of tens of thousands of men being encircled and cut off from supplies or reinforcements and subsequently surrendering. In fact, there are several examples of Russia doing so both in WWI and WWII.
>Ukrainians announce Kherson offensive early
>Russia sees this and moves air assets to Crimea
>Ukrainians bomb said assets as well as infrastructure in Crimea
>Russia relocates air assets that are still operable deep into Russia
>Kherson offensive doesn't happen, Russians get complacent and declare that Ukraine is unable to launch an offensive
>Ukrainians launch Kherson offensive, with Russian air assets no longer nearby to provide support in any sort of effective time.
This isn't even smart from the Ukrainians, its just that Russia is so moronic they effectively play themselves.
Theres no way to trap Russian forces in kherson. In the worst case scenario they'd just jump into the river and swim across after sabotaging all the equipment they cant take with them.
im sure a bunch of now equipmentless former tankers with at best their uniforms (try swimming across 400m of river with full gear) and without their heavy equipment will be very usefull in the donbass
So they’ll have to shed all their equipment as well? Or is swimming across a river in full gear easily doable?
To be fair, it is if you aren't an idiot.
However, you would need a wooden pallet to build a makeshift raft and put things of a few soldiers onto, and then pull that over with a rope.
I hear Russians have plenty of pallets. They'll be fine. >;^)
What's wrong with eradicating your enemy especially invaders?
Kill them where they stand, if you kill enough of them they'll stop sending them eventually.
Worked for Afganistan and Vietnam. You don't need that hearts and minds bullshit if your fighting for your country's survival, you're not an imperialist trying to win over a foreign populace.
This. Honestly, the RussBlack folk have a single massive advantage over us: They hate their enemy and treat him accordingly.
We've forgotten how to hate on a societal level and we've forgotten what a fantastic tool violence really is. I hope that before shit kicks off with China, we'll let violence back into our hearts.
Hating and killing your enemy is one of the most human, most sacred things one can do.
Russia NEVER hates. Russians are full of Christian love, and generosity for all mankind. It is the German and Anglo Nazi that hates. They bomb cities, they shell towns, they sink ships full of civilians, they seek to colonize and conquer the world while all Russia has ever wanted is to be left alone.
Tremendous Russian lying: confident, ambitious, shameless, totally without irony, and a perverse inversion of truth. It's a thing of beauty.
Got any proof of anything you just said? Only thing i know of that can be remotely attributed as "helping" is when tsarist Russia kicked the turks out of Bulgaria when they were being right c**ts.
As society we've evolved past that. Russia and shitholes like it are holding us back with their tribal low IQ sociopathic behavior.
That being said, good thing we stopped considering vatniks as equal species so no one gives a shit if one or two of them get stabbed in the eye.
It's just Sun Tzu. Especially back when battles were fought to the death and fleeing enemies were hopeless prey for cavalry, making your enemy think they can escape and killing them as they flee was more effective than surrounding them and giving them an excuse to do a last stand. As another anon said, modern PoW conventions make this paradigm a little different, with mass surrenders becoming more attractive now that they don't result in a life of slavery for the surrendering troops. Plus surrounding an enemy is vital to destroying their supply lines, making victory come sooner than if you left a lifeline open like Sun Tsu would have you do.
Taking prisoners results in the deaths of less of your men in the long run
The best thing would to be to destroy it and then drone drop inflatable tubes near the shore.
Leaving an escape route can prevent a costly battle as the enemy fights to the death. If you just want to claim the field, that can be very desirable to avoid.
But sometimes you actually want to kill a motherfricker, and leaving escape routes is not useful.
What, orcs can't swim?
This "offensive" the newest Cope of the Week from Washington?
So why haven’t they done it yet?
Can the jannies do us a solid and delete this thread please?
>We fricked up royally pls forget that it happened
You can't make this shit up lmao
Except that's not what's being said. They're not saying "Attack failed stop talking about it" they're saying "Please do not give away our troop positions for Social Media likes"
>Pleaseeee forget about the counteroffensive the next is gonna be in November and it will go as planned totally!
*Loses Nikolaev*
For a group that never shuts up about Redditors getting themselves bombed, you vatniks seriously have a hard time understanding opsec.
during the last meeting of Guteres and Zelensky. Ukrainian side demanded from UN a special force division which will take over Zaporozhye Nuclear plant before it can be hanged over to Ukrainian forces in 10 weeks. additionally Zelensky demanded over 3 milliard dollars to "rebuild" ukrainian power system, which was not destroyed by fighting at the power plant. Guteres told him to watch his mouth and asked to stop the shelling of the power-plant. two hours later the plant was attacked by the ukrainians again.
>Zelensky demanded over 3 milliard dollars to "rebuild" ukrainian power system
>$3 million
>To repair a national power grid
You see anon, this is the kind of shit that exposes your fanfics for the nonsense they are. 3 million is nowhere near enough. You'd be looking at 20 times that at the absolute minimum.
>I can't read
Estonia to SEIZE Real Estate From Russians. Coca Cola Rebrands In Russia. IKEA To Return.
Still not seeing why a rabbi willingly taking up arms to defend his country when he could easily not is supposed to be a bad thing, /misc/.
Still waiting on those bridge names...
There are none, Russia's not going to waste Pontoon equipment on three bridges they're going to save the rest for when Ukraine inevitably blows up the Pontoon bridge they're working on.
>Jews not sitting at home and fighting for their country
Why would I hate them? Even if they are israeli
This moron (
) doesn't know that a thousand million is called a billion in English. "Milliard" is the Russian word for billion.
Milliard is also an english word. Most of the world, including continental europe, uses long scale counting.
I wonder do they sit on the /chug/ discord and write these shitty fan fics?
You do know people can get real time satellite photos of the river, care to try again?
>You do know people can get real time satellite photos of the river, care to try again?
go and get them tiger! you fricking bawd.
Yawn. Care to post bridges?
no motherfricker. you promised real time satelite photos about those bridges being destroyed. get them you israeliteshit.
I am a different guy, dipshit. There are more than one person arguing with your moronation, you know?
I didn't promise anything, I'm just sure there's a few glowies around here who could do it.
But really is FSB so desperate that they're resorting to begging on PrepHole?
That's not true. I was told israelitelesnky is a weak cuck, yet you say he stood up and defied the UN Secretary General? How come?
Jewlensky told it himself that he is a weak cuck. Erdogan has spoken about.
>plz stop posting
t. ukraine
>Everything about that twitter profile
>that formatting
>unironically using "Orc" as a slur
I sure do hate twitterites and homosexuals who make twitter screencap threads.
Holy shit ukrwandans absolutely btfo
Good lord, look what time it is
to the last ukrainian
why anyone thinks it's wise to fight and die for a*nglos is beyond me
>moron here. Isn't it better to leave the river escape route intact?
yes. you are right. especially since russians already brought in the equipment for the war during the FALL and rain season and WINTER season. i have no fricking clue why Pentagon decided to start the assault now and is trying to destroy the bridges which are not used by russian military much anyway. those bridges are not even guarded by air defense and guards. all ammunition and supplies routes are going by the ship and rail routes there. the only videos in the internet arte showing only local civilian transportation and russian private companies moving beaten ukrainian armored vehicles to crimea for repair. honestly i have no fricking clue why bydloes just stormed most armed positions in whole south and let over 2000 own soldiers die this weekend.
Lmao, what ship and rail routes?
The rail connection to Kherson was destroyed in July and the closest you can get to a “ship route” is Skadovsk, which still requires either rail or car to deliver to Kherson. It is not a port city, you know? It stands on a river and half of its mouth is still controlled by Ukraine, so there is no chance of any ships going across Dnieper to Kherson any time now. You seem to be quite ignorant of the geography of southern Ukraine, why do you even bother sharing your unfounded opinion?
>The rail connection to Kherson was destroyed in July
jewlet.. Shlomo.. i.. cant.. if it was destroyed. then why are russians using two rail bridges right now?
Can you give me the names and locations of these bridges? Much obliged in advance.
Oh look, vatniks woke up
