trench warfare is cope from poor people with terrible militaries who are unable to do anything better

Trench warfare is a form of surrender without surrendering... it's basically saying "we are all out of ideas and have neither the men nor hardware to actually make any new gains, but we are also too stubborn to conceit defeat!"

I f Russia had the hardware to take Ukraine at ANY point they'd have never had a reason to dig in in the first place. It's the copium-huffing of military strategies.

Monte Cassino was taken during WWII basically because a single Polish tank rode up a hill which was considered impossible for mechanised units to traverse.

Obvious bait but I'll bite in case anybody actually believes this.
Ukraine has the opposite of a manpower problem. They don't even need to conscript because the line of volunteers is so long they told them to basically sit and wait until they get enough material to equip them with.

There's been actual cases of Ukraine's corruption problem flaring up in hilarious ways: People are bribing the recruiters to skip the waiting line for volunteers, because they want a piece of the action as fast as possible.

Can't, those also have waiting lines because they don't have enough equipment to arm everyone that wants to jump aboard.

Ask yourself, how many soldiers does Russia have left that don't meet either of those criteria?

  9. 3 weeks ago

I don't think it's totally over but it is mostly over peer to peer as seen by 6 months of stalemate, but the Russian military was in total disarray once they broke through, and was criminally undermanned with no backup forces to contain a breach after sending too many to Kherson, and being forced to only manage a volunteer army and conscripts from DNR or LPR that were forced and unwilling to fight after half a year of western propaganda (Reality propaganda).

Russia was just out of men in the region and the region was full of fuck huge gaps of defences that basically NEEDED "manoeuvre warfare" to even cross before any reinforcements/artillery could arrive to start fucking things up.
Russia cannot handle Ukraine on a large front at all, a large front benefits Ukraine at this time due to the huge difference in manpower and training.
Manoeuvre warfare when you have an absolute overwhelming majority and a panicking enemy absolutely still works against Russians with static mounted AT, fucking tanks that don't even fire their guns, and an obscenely overpowered intelligence backing? Well yeah, that'll do you.

I would hardly call it manoeuvre warfare, though. It was just Russians, everything you think shouldn't work, works on Russians.

Time is a flat plane in Ukraine. It just went through all phases of warfare to ever exist in a way shorter timeframe.

No. I was saying exactly this was going to happen because Russia's defenses west of Kupyansk were thin as shit and Ukraine hadn't been hitting them with much. Deep paper defenses are are still paper defenses. Staryi Saltiv was better defended than anything Russia had between Kharkiv and Kupyansk and the Russians got their teeth kicked in there by a sortie.

All god damn war the main tools to stop a major advance have been to blow bridges or concentrated artillery fire and while IIRC there's plenty of marshland in this area, there's actual dry fucking road all the god damn way to Kupyansk. The Russians should have been doomstacking defenses there instead of Izyum for some imagined attack on Slovyansk and Kramatorsk that was never going to work/be tried.

Or better yet, doomstack on fucking Kharkiv. Fuck's sake. Russia's putting the cart before the glue.

When you defend for a long period, you build defenses to include trenches. When you push you use armor.

    >that the age of mobile warfare was over and trench warfare was back?
What complete retarded said that? Do they understand why trench warfare was already losing steam towards end of WWI and why the “blitzkrieg” was so impactful in context? Are they 12?

      >Are they 12?
If the people posting this shit aren't actually 12, they're being paid to pretend they are. It's also the armchair retards who pop into these sorts of communities once an event is popular, remember how many people suddenly became pandemic experts in like March-April 2020 when everyone with two brain cells was screaming about it in January?

In the closest analogue to this current war, the battles for Ukraine in WW2, took place over like 2 years and had periods of stagnant fighting followed by rapid offensives, with the balance shifting as either party had logistical problems or was, at points, able to create/replace divisions.

The truth is if you weren't, at least, following things like the Turkish coup in 2016 or the original invasion in 2014 you have no fucking business commenting on this stuff.

        Anonymous

moron this offensive will be over in a day or two, meanwhile Kherson and Donbass and layers upon layers of defense in depth and you've got nothing to say about it because it doesn't fucking compute for you.
And when this little incident is over you'll have learned nothing, when the next little incident kicks you fucking theory of war in the balls another million times you still won't learn anything, and then eventually someone with authority over you will come along and tell you what you actually believed all along and it won't have a single thing to do with anything you post ITT.
