Now the war is just a normal war with one side being comically crippled.

Early days was basically a moronic kid throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks. On par with someone playing a video game and just smashing the keyboard in tard rage.

            >There is mounting, urgent concern among western officials that Russian forces are planning to employ siege tactics against Kyiv, cutting off supplies and routes in and out, before moving in.

            >Already, faced with the threat of the buildup barely an hour away, some of those residents of Kyiv not attempting to leave have been digging trenches and setting up barricades to repel the expected assault.

            >The possibility of a siege leading to rapidly rising civilian casualties has been raised by senior Biden administration officials. “It’s likely going to be very significant loss of life,” said the congresswoman Victoria Spartz, who was born and raised in Ukraine.

            >As a picture emerges of how a full-scale Russian ground assault on Kyiv could begin, Russia’s Tass and RIA news agencies quoted the Russian defence ministry as saying it planned to strike the headquarters of Ukraine’s security service and special operations unit, allegedly to prevent “information attacks” on Russia. The ministry urged people near the sites to leave the areas.

Yes, and for a few days/weeks, the news was presenting it like "HOLY SHIT guys, there is a 60km convoy of Russian vehicles in the direction of Kyiv, Ukraine is fricked!" and not like "wait, what the frick is Russia doing, why is there a 60km convoy of vehicles stuck on the road?" Those early days of the conflict on /k/ were so funny as everyone slowly but surely realized that Russia might just be moronic

I don't understand this picture, the US was at war with sandy nigs, no one prevented them from building a base in the middle of the desert with a 360° view, they were not shelled by artillery, they were not attacked by tanks, the only threat was ied cars

    >having yearly training for invasion of Ukraine on border with Ukraine
    >this year's training is winding down, suddenly orders come down from Kremlin to hold position
    >military command was not informed ahead of time, did not bring enough supplies for indefinite stay
    >commanders only brought bare minimum fuel and supplies and food for the training itself so they could pocket the remaining allotted funds
    >Kremlin gives order to invade, again the commanders were not informed this would be happening
    >invasion plan involves aggressively driving deep into Ukraine without supply line infrastructure

absolutely fricking moronic, even with the war being partially a move by Putin to regain initiative and control within his government

Le über convoy was the moment I realized the Russians were morons. Like many I was prepared for the 2 week war. But knowing they had years to plan and prepare for an invasion and THIS is the result 1 week into the war is absolutely inexcusable. Putin is either a complete moron or was lied to and never bothered to verify they had what they needed to win. In either case he’s a shit leader and the last two decades of people on PrepHole and boomers across the world being on his jock as some kind of genius were all for nothing.

yeah the thing about that is that the highway of death was the iraqis attempting to retreat, not advance

A combination of minced meat, abandoned due to a lack of gas and successful retreat for the ones that were in good condition and didn't break their suspension while going through the woods. There were videos all around of Russian trucks going to gas and police stations to get refueled. A few days ago I read an article (forget where- BI or NYT perhaps) where Russian sources it wasn't the javelins and nlaws that brought that convoy down but unexpected artillery fire.

The cuck convoy confirmed to me that russia isn't any better than Iraq, that'd be highway of death 2.0 if the ukies weren't weak.

My mostly Russia sympathetic country is also having a good time making fun of the convoy now that most of the tankies are hiding from shilling Russia. One woman remarked that our traffic is so shit if Russia ever waged war they'd be stuck in a choke point 25 km from the city for the rest of their lives.

ukrainians took them apart with small mortar teams running around the woods in all-terrain vehicles. there were some drone videos released back in late march showing the fields in belarus where the russians had been dumping the scrap they were hauling out the ass end of that convoy trying to get to the undestroyed vehicles in the middle. there were hundreds of acres of burnt and blasted vehicles.

Ukraine launched a counteroffensive and the convoy retreated. The entire time /k/ were in hysterics about how how for months this fricking convoy were just sitting there and not getting attacked. I imagine the forward parts of the convoy got wrecked during the counteroffensive but /k/ just stopped talking about the convoy when the push actually happened. Losses probably weren't that great, or else it would had been the biggest propaganda coup ever and we'll be seeing pictures of destroyed vehicles for miles, to this day, instead of the virtual amnesia about it.

His video saying that Kiev would soon be encircled and fall in a few weeks demoralized me so much. This whole conflict has been fascinating when it comes to “experts” eating shit. Even the CIA was revealed to be a bunch of doomers, preparing for an insurgency and pulling their glowies out.
