Gun safety is overrated. Gun owners say moronic things like
    >you can't chamber .50BMG n a 12 guage even though it fits
    >You have to use hearing protection
    >you can't use a vacuum cleaner to pick up stray rounds
    >you can't toss lead shot around the woods to protecy against fae because dumbass birds will eat them
    >you have to use a backstop
    >a chain link fence is not a backstop
    >you can't fire modern ammo in guns designed for black powder
    >you need to clear a firearm before dry firing
    >you can't use bullets as an improvised hammer
    >30.06 isn't an appropriate HD round
    >you can't drop bricks on live rounds for fun
    >you can't tell women to carry a snubnose .44 magnum for defense
    >you can't use Bear Spray as food seasoning
    >you can't hunt elk with .17hmr

      >you can't chamber .50BMG n a 12 guage even though it fits
      You can shoot a 50out of a 12 gauge
      Once
      >you can't toss lead shot around the woods to protecy against fae because dumbass birds will eat them
      Iron kills fae not lead
      >you can't fire modern ammo in guns designed for black powder
You can if you're not a pussy
      Once
      >you need to clear a firearm before dry firing
      Just aim up
      >you can't use bullets as an improvised hammer
      Perfectly safe
      >30.06 isn't an appropriate HD round
It is if you hate your neighbors
      >you can't drop bricks on live rounds for fun
Party poopers will tell you this
      >you can't tell women to carry a snubnose .44 magnum for defense
      Sexist

More than once, actually. You're just not going to get anywhere near the same effect you would get from shooting it out of something it was intended to be fired from. I personally would never do it, maybe as an absolute last resort. It doesn't appear to put noticeable wear on the gun, but I still just wouldn't.

      >you can't tell women to carry a snubnose .44 magnum for defense
That's not the right gun for a woman to carry for self defense. Considering that she's likely a lot shorter, smaller, and weaker than the average man she needs a gun big enough to compensate for those weaknesses. The perfect weapon for that role would either be a full size Desert Eagle, or the Cobray Ladies Home Companion loaded with .45-70. The second one there will be easier for her to decorate however she likes at home (so that it fits in with the rest of her outfit, as she will be carrying it openly, women give a shit about that sort of thing), and it was even designed specifically for the female market as you can tell from the name.
