I hate all the self-inserting Zeon wank in Gundam, because Japanese caqn't get over being spanked in WW2 and have to glorify the guys who wiped out more of humanity in one week than had ever died in all the conflicts of human history.

          Anonymous

Zeon is constantly caught in a cycle of being correct in their core ideology and being far too based for their own good. It makes them really interesting antagonists and even decent allies against a worse enemy. It’s a small wonder people in-universe keep on trying to do “Zeon but right this time” and equally small wonder the writers do.

            Anonymous

Their core ideology is horse shit.
People weren't made to live without gravity and newtypes can both develop on Earth and clearly aren't the path to human advancement, since multiple tyrannical villains being newtypes show they can be just as petty, power-hungry and monstrous as anyone else, just with psychic powers on top of it.

              Anonymous

NTA and not glorifying Zeon which is just a trope reused in loop.
But the suggestion is that Newtype would in-fact allow hivemind-level of going well together/utopia, you would easily isolate the crazy people if you could look into their soul. All NT protag turn many enemy around.
The problem is that within the setting the most useful use of Newtype are pilots who can single-handedly turn the tide of a battle.

Also Zeon's start come from the Federation being extremely corrupt and stagnant, even if you removed Zeon (for real this time) the Federation would invent another enemy to justify their army.

Of course, retconing this is how Gundam justify itself as a franchise too.

Wagner is also "shadow banned" on every media channel that is paid by government and lots of radios and shit stopped running their ads. If nothing changes Wagner will simply cease to exist within a month or two with their current rate of losses.

              Anonymous

yeah I followed that. Prigozhin flew too close to the sun and now he's being pushed into irrelevance, I guess it beats tripping out of a window.
Also some Russian opposition media said that earlier last year there was an attempt by Prigozhin, Kadyrov and some General whose name escapes me to take control over the military and that is the reason why the MoD now borderline denies the existence of Wagner.
That would explain things, but as I said it's opposition media so take what they say with a grain of salt.

What the frick was even the point from the start?

What sort of anime villain logic is that? Who would support such a government?

Correct, it makes no sense, especially considering that wasting the element of surprise to send in the shitters is a terrible plan and we have evidence of elite units like VDV and 1st Guards Tank being present in the fighting.
It's just some shitty excuse people latched on to who couldn't swallow the pill of the Russian army being worse than they imagined.

It made some sense a year ago. If they knew they were going to take losses regardless, zerg rush with T72 so your better tanks aren’t also destroyed and use up the first ATGMs giving by the west. They didn’t need to engage in tank battles, they needed armored vehicles that ignored small arms and had a cannon.

A year and 200k casualties later it turns out, no that wasn’t strategy, that was the best the could actually do. Their newer stuff doesn’t work or doesn’t exist. Also they are too fricking stupid to know how to supply their troops with basics in a neighboring country 300 miles from their capital.

Infighting in Nazi Germany was just a ploy to lul Allies into false sense of security. the kremlin is obviously capable of mounting some pretty extreme psy-ops but russians in general are also pretty adept at being whiny backstabbing c**ts - i think it's the latter here.

They are talking about the Federal Defense Force from the mirror universe where Russia is a bastion of morality and righteousness and the leader of free and just world.

Little do they know even if they could bring this force into our branch of the continuum their leadership would quickly realize they’re being bamboozled and side with Ukraine in its fight for freedom and survival.

Dictators don't keep strong armies because they are afraid of coups. There is not secret Russian army in reserve. What you see is what you get.

It doesn't matter what the Russian propaganda says. Just give it time. Bakhmut will eventually be overrun, but Bahkmut isn't Kyiv. The russians are throwing too much out to achieve too little.

you mean the ones with Russian markings and Ukrainian X markings so you don't destroy them as the vehicle is abandoned but working?

I saw Ukraine crosses on those vehicles. Also, how did Russian vehicles even get on that road in the first place, given that neither Wagner nor RuAF has gotten to that road yet. Did they teleport? Were they airdropped? lmao

Love how they kept spouting that as the VDV ceased to exist around Hostomel and we found out after the Kharkiv rout that the 1st Guards Tank Army, the elite unit that's supposed to serve as the last line of defense for Moscow against NATO, got their shit kicked in at Kyiv.

He is right, the newly mobilized RU soldiers (~300k) are still being trained and organized into new division level units being trained in combined arms operations, only a small portion were sent in right away to plug gaps. When they strike after Artyemovsk falls it will be like Operation Bagration 2.0

When this war is over, it's my opinion that all Russians should be required to serve a mandatory sentence as slave laborers to rebuild Ukraine. They will not be allowed any entertainment except Russian propaganda, which will be blared at uncomfortable volume during their non-work hours (save 4 hours set aside for sleep).
