I hope you enjoy 110+ degree heat indexes with 90+ percent humidity in the summer and cold, also wet as frick winters. If you're looking for a neat place for a day trip, check out the redneck waterpark just southeast of New Bern proper, it's on the Neuse kind of behind a McDonalds. Hopefully the landowners haven't had to tear it down since I was last there.

It has never been anywhere near 110 at Camp Lejune. At the very most it reaches into the low 90s.

I don't think you understand how heat index works. I also don't think you understand how easy it is to be a heat casualty when it's constantly 90% relative humidity and wearing flak, kevlar, full pack and being in weapons company. There's a reason you were at the armory before 3am to (try) to step-off by 5am and (hopefully) be done before lunch. And frick boots-and-utes runs my knees hate you.

It’s extremely humid and hot during the summer and very cold and wet during every other season. If you’re not a POG you’re going to spend a lot of nights freezing your balls off in a puddle while getting rained on.

PT road fricking sucks on main side, try not to get hit by a car. Don’t do drugs, there have been massive changes to the way drug testing works there. Oh and uh flatwoods rahge is the closest good range BUT they will actually ask to see NFA paperwork for anything you bring, I’ve seen a boomer there get vanned for bringing an SBR.

If you have any questions feel free to ask

Did three and a half years in Courthouse Bay and hated every fricking second of it. I thin Camp Lejeune might actually be one of the most miserable places on the planet.

There's nothing to do immediately off base because you have to drive to Wilmington or Charlotte to get to real civilization; everywhete closer is populated by off-duty Gunnys and Sergeants Major who will gladly inform your command that you went out in town without a fricking belt. The ranges all fricking suck, too- there's only one range that you're even allowed to shoot 40mm on and tracks and recon have it on lock for 80% of the year. The rest are just buddy rushing into the mud in red flag weather and full kit.

The real problem is that the base is literally in a swamp, though. It's the nastiest weather possible in the summer with bugs and humidity.

Do you actually tell them who you belong to? Just say "Second Tanks", or "My wife is a cpl in 1/2" or don't even respond to them.

I never gave them the time of day but they're still fricking irritating to be around and deal with. The entire local area is infested with prying eyes.
