Red pill me on this. If a base
Sig MPX 9MM is around 2k what realistically justifies the wild $6.5k pricetag here? I don't care about the john wick name crap. I do dig the look and feel though. There's a big wall of enhancements listed that I'm unfamiliar with. (more of a pistol guy as yet.) I'm curious what the max someone more knowledgeable would actually pay for this assuming they wanted it with all this custom'ness factored in. Does it even begin to add up? Could I get close ordering separate parts for like half the cost? A lot of guns from these guys seem a price too far.

Thanks anon, very informative! If I had to guess a lot of their exclusives have some of this cheesery going on
Taran Tactical Combat Master stuff is always good but wildly overpriced. I got to borrow a Sand Viper for a match once and I was pretty impressed with it. That said, for the price it's a terrible option. You're paying for brand and the knowledge that you have something nice and didn't have to think about it. The same applies with the MPX. They can be tuned to have fantastic recoil impulses, but they need way more maintenance than other PCCs that are comparable in performance, and they tend to be somewhat finicky. If all you care about is performance and value, there is no better option than the JP JP5. For less money, consider a mean arms upper. Maybe consider a tricked out direct blowback AR9. Aero EPC uppers and lowers are a decent starting point, but for everything but the receivers, you should look to JP, Tac Com, Brekke Custom, MBX, etc. Lead Star makes a decent entry level PCC if you can get past the cringe branding and design language.
has probably never shot a match in his life, doesn't own a shot timer, etc so i will give my take
>IonBonded Bolt Carrier Group
doesn't matter
>HIPERFIRE Eclipse with Trigger Job (Formerly HIPERFIRE 243G)
it's a good trigger. Mine shit the bed at like 10k rounds, but everyone else I know who has one swears by it.
>Lancer 16 Inch Carbon Fiber Rail with TTI Grand Master Grip Texture
doesn't matter. waste of money.
>TTI Ultimate MPX Magwell
nice gamer magwell. good.
>Stream light TLR-8
pants on head retarded
>Trijicon MRO with Low Mount
get a holosun 510C, AEMS, or 507comp
>TTI Stock Adapter BCM Carbine Buffer Tube BCM Castle Nut BCM Mod 1
it's fine but i prefer magwell
>Hogue Grip Exile Machine Grip Fin
i hate the hogue finger groove overmold grip. it sucks.
>Cheek-EEZ
you start stock on belt in uspsa, so hitting your jaw with the stock is common. that said, this isn't needed and can be diy'd cheaper.
>Taccom 3g MPX Muzzle Brake
it's okay but I prefer Brekke comp-xtension style p&w vertical port comps.
addendum
the streamlight tlr8 is generally a dumb idea, and the placement is odd. I just realized however that it actually makes a bit of sense for this application. You start stock on belt in USPSA. There are some circumstances where you only need to take one target from your start position before immediately moving. Some people will run a visible laser for this purpose. You can take the first target from the hip without taking the time to actually shoulder the rifle. The TLR8 being upside down with the laser on top provides enough standoff to allow for a thumbs forward grip on the handguard without blocking the beam and near identical bore offset to that of your optic. Most people who run lasers tend to moutn them on the handguard, but I guess if you care to get autistic about handguard flex, zero retention, and mounting all aiming devices on your upper receiver, this is a decent way to do it. It's probably cheaper to just mount a TLR8 upside down than to use a dedicated visible laser and a picatinny riser to get it to the same height. You also get the added capability of having a really shitty pistol light on your rifle.
>tl;dr: it's still dumb, but at least some thought went into it.
No price for any PCC is justified
that magazine looks like a weiner
It's pretty penisy
Captcha MrSag
>Does it even begin to add up?
No. You are putting $4,000 in someone's pocket for a movie meme that does nothing better than the factory gun.
That's exactly what I was worried about, good to know, thanks
Just DIY
Totally gonna take this route. Here's a question as I'm not far in my education on various AR parts. Could anyone help me with a list of worthwhile pieces that could mimic that aesthetic without the ridiculous price? Maybe chambered in 5.56nato instead? I know that's asking a lot but if any anons have those visuals in their brain rolodex that'd be interesting, and I wonder what the cost differential would be too.
OP is a competition gun. That's what all the john wick shit is. It's for flabby gen-x'ers doing shooting competitions. Just buy an MPX or MCX or whatever longgun bullshit you want for your own LARP.
I have an MPX-K. I bought new-current pridction, so a Gen3. The stock sig grip is one of the nicest AR grips I've held, but I still swapped it out for a magpul K2 for a steeper grip angle for better squared up shooting. The gen 3 model come with a nice timney trigger out of the box, no need to change that if you're asking. I did swap out the charging handle for a Radian Weapons ambi charging handle. When I bought mine, the ATF had just announced that they would be implementing rules concerning braced pistols, I have a brace, but I recommend Form 1ing it and getting the folding or collapsible stock. I stuck an Eotech 512 on it and put about 1000 or so rounds through it.
>$6.5k pricetag
>9mm pcc
>glorified wall hanger, safe queen or weekend paper puncher
a fool and his money will soon be parted
You're stupid on so many levels if you buy this. That's it.
Op here, obviously not gonna buy this, just wanted to confirm suHispanicions the price was nuts. I am interested in recreating a similar vibe in 5.56 with parts though! I'm just not sure what parts. New to AR builds still.
Just buy a Sig MCX, it is the 5.56 version.
It looks sick honestly but an ungodly price gouge
>We put on a new handguard
That'll be $1200
>We put talon grip tape on the handguard
That'll be $400
>We upgraded the bcg
That'll be $1500
>We put on a stream light and MRO
That'll be $2000 plus sucking the tip
