I can't see the reason why we couldn't fight like 8 hours a day and then come homw, shower have dinner and what not.
Why live like animals, like pigs in filth, why freeze to death.

Except warriors in ancient times were allowed to rape women, spread your seed, take away gold, plunder and have fun in general.
Now you sit in a cuck cage called tank/IFV and get expoded

it's a bot. Also similar shit is happening on other boards
        >/m/: Witch From Mercury threads and fujo threads
        >PrepHole: moegays, witch from mercury
        >/mlp/: no hooves, whatever that means
        >/gif/ and /wsg/: race bait, gay bait, tiktok spam, general spam
        >PrepHole: constant nicocado threads, haven't checked lately, but a year ago it was unusable
        >PrepHole: nothing but phone threads
        >PrepHole: EV spam. Has been constant since 2018 and it getting worse.
Keep in mind there's a group of people who raid /PrepHole/ daily. This is a different group than the dsicord trannies who cased that one guy to blow his head off. I don't know who they are, but their plan, as far as I know, is this:
        >find board
        >shitpost and derail threads
        >turn threads into toxic, garbage discussions no one wants to participate in
        >do this often enough, and you'll drive away the core userbase and only leave idiots who do nothing but argue all day
They're deplatforming all the decent people off the website. If you think I'm lying, go look at PrepHole, they already succeeded there. 15 years ago, Anons would be hacking into the Church of Scientology for the lulz, now it's half a dozen zoomers arguing over phones. They are using your tendency to REEEEE and argue about stupid shit against you, and it could kill this board.

Talked with 3 family friends that were active duty, (a marine, an army pharmacist and a ranger) they all told me the mil was a complete woke nog-filled nightmare, basically that the good times were long gone and it was a terrible idea if you could afford college (I had a partial scholarship). Got a comp sci degree instead, two years later made enough to never need to work again in crypto. Best decision of my life.

plus it has been over 100 years since anyone in my family tree has served, so i dont feel too bad about it.
and although I at first liked the idea of throwing my worthless life away into the meat grinder of a greater cause, some reading of the history of war has changed my mind

No honor in modern battle. Incompetent leadership and politicization of being a soldier. The quality of the people joining was another reason. Pointless and horribly executed missions far away were another reason. Probably I would have had to wait for one or two years after school, if I would have wanted to start as officer. Since I had to undergo surgery around that time. My eyes would have probably been good enough to start as pilot. And I had been reading academic military literature since I was eight years old. But well neither the trajectory of the country nor the quality of the others joining was convincing to me.
All in all it was never very likely for me.
Probably I also didn’t want to end up poor and possibly injured on top of it. In the minds of most people there is only the memory of warriors. The reality is that the modern world has optimized and rationalized battle. Most simply don’t care. And if you want to make money you chose different routes.
With the forced injections and other recent events I truly glad for ditching this bullet.
Many end up there because they feel there is nothing else left. Or think it’s low expenses and moderate income.

You could have been a rear echelon POG or in a branch like the navy or air force if that was your only concern. Why are you trying to make some weird copium around how terrible specifically landmines are being the sole reason and for their mere non-existence you then would have joined?

      Anonymous

It’s multifaceted, but yes going out by „dishonorable“ actions of the enemy/being crippled without battle are certainly reasons for some not to join. But I would somewhat agree. The structure and the overall package is what makes it a bad deal for most.

    > No regard for work/life balance
    > No regard for circadian rhythms and sleep
    > Poor pay for what I'm qualified for
    > Know that there's virtually no getting through it without long term stress injuries to knees and back, often hearing
    > One of the only jobs where if you quit, they can imprison and enslave you
    > Can lose gun rights for dishonorable discharge
    > Dishonorable discharge, less than honorable discharge can follow you for the rest of your life on background checks, thus potentially costing you jobs, apartments, loans, etc.
    > Shitty and stupid hazing rituals and similar cludged-together "traditions"
    > Knowing the guys at my high school who joined the military, and they're all frick ups but one, and that one when I met him part way through his stint was counting his days until he was free.
    > Knowing that you'll be housed in subpar, polluted quarters, all hazardous things you're exposed to will be denied or understated, like testing chemical weapons and gases on you, organophosphate exposure, burn pits, traumatic brain injuries, the water in your taps you'll need to reverse osmosis filter to get it to a reasonable standard
    > Knowing that you are a cog to be worn out and replaced
    > Knowing that you are part of a machine that will be used to make up bullshit cassus beli [sic?] to enrich corrupt people in power
    > Knowing you'll be part of a massive, meat-grinding misery machine.
and now, to top everything off, the "vaxxes".
