Quick /k/, you're given the option to go back to anytime and anywhere in history with a couple thousand AR's and ten million rounds of ammo, you'll also magically be able to speak the language of the area you choose.
Where do you go?

Cretaceous, I want to hunt some dinos

Frick me then, idk I guess I'd go to the neolithic and start shooting pottery with my varmint rifle. I want to see neanderthals go ape shit shooting it.
I fricking did it again. Whatever, id donate the gun to the poor
Id go to the 16th century and kill every roach that tries to get into europe through the balkans
Id go to the 16th century and give every roach that wants into Europe through the balkans a way to fight this guy

How would you train those people?
Do you really think you have the proper instructions to teach medieval/antiquity soldiers into using a semi-automatic rifle with a detachable box magazine and to keep their weapons clean and doing maintenance?
It takes like an hour tops to teach a complete nogunz how to shoot decently enough, I imagine it wouldn't take that much longer to teach an ancient nogunz the same thing outside of just having to explain "no it's not magic"
just tell em it works kinda like a crossbow and then go from there.
mastering marksmanship is easier than mastering archery.
remember that the first guns were more difficult to shoot than even flintlocks.
the basic works of a gun and maintenance isn't too difficult to understand, either.
>How would you train those people?
>Point this end at the thing you want to die
>Pull this funny little thing here to kill it
>gun jams
>a simple failure to fire or something trivial to fix
>"ooga booga AR shit"
>"wish time traveler could bring AK instead"
>they start throwing rocks at each other like they've been doing since forever
Not so simple, José.
People gave up bows and spears back when guns took half a minute to reload, could barely hit a barn door past 100m, and had a 1/5 chance of misfiring. Pretty sure jamming once every few thousands round wouldn't be enough for people to immediately abandon a weapon that could pierce armor like it was paper at over 400m and could dumb 30 rounds in a few seconds.
But you have to teach them how to properly clear malfunctions and how to keep their weapons in good condition. That takes time and it's not "hurr durr point thing pull trigger to kill".
Yeah, and teaching that takes a week at the very most, more realistically a couple days.
It's not particularly hard to learn how to use a gun.
>keeping a gun clean and clearing jams is hard!
t. nogunz mcnevershot
For a bunch of unwashed barbarian from antiquity and medieval plague-infested commoners, yes, it is. That's why proper training is important and shouldn't be disregarded as just "point and shoot".
By the way, post yours first, you didn't even understand the post and I can't believe someone so stupid like you would have guns.
People in the past weren't morons, they just didn't have the same access to information that we do today.
That's why I said proper training is important, nothing more than that.
>That's why I said proper training is important
>Overestimates the difficulty of said 'proper training' in order to make it discouraging
We train thousands of morons how to shoot and maintain weapons well enough with only a few days of training, guns are not some eldritch magic puzzle box that takes months to figure out.
the fact that you're leaning so hard into this "guns are literally incomprehensible without a masters degree" bullshit makes me think your own experiences with a gun required a tard wrangler.
>the fact that you're leaning so hard into this "guns are literally incomprehensible without a masters degree"
Nope, my point is just that
Here's your very first reply where you imply that training people to properly use and maintain guns is in anyway difficult and would be difficult or impossible, the exact statement being "Do you really think you have the proper instructions to teach" as if you need a fricking text book to teach people how to use a gun
"proper training" takes a week tops
It's a personal question for the average /k/ user and it's very clear about it.
If you think you can teach a bunch of people from a time where gunpowder simply wasn't available; who've never heard a loud boom a few inches from his face without shaking and trembling; who cannot even wipe their fricking asses let alone keep something clean and well mantained, so be it.
>who cannot even wipe their fricking asses let alone keep something clean and well mantained
Historical evidence of central plumbing and some means of cleaning the anus exists in virtually every culture fricking brainlet, but just keep believing humans just shat everywhere and walked around with itchy shitty asses for literally all of human history until some dude in the 1800's was like "you know, I don't like that there's shit everywhere"
>being assblasted because I said people couldn't even wipe their asses
Potery.
>from a time where gunpowder simply wasn't available; who've never heard a loud boom a few inches from his face without shaking and trembling;
>16th century
>When even fricking Japan mass-fielded tanegashima muskets
Be honest with me - you don't just like the taste of crayons, but you also shoved one too far up your nose when you were a kid, right?
>Hadrian
>16th century
>gunpowder available
Be honest with me - you don't just like the taste of playdoh, but you also shoved one too far up your ass when you were a kid, right?
You're so frickin dumb. Roman soldiers were expected to build camp at the end of every march, they carried a tool kit with them everywhere that had metal tools. They had to clean and oil their weapons everyday. Why the frick would it be hard for them to disassemble a gun and clean it? It would take them a day to learn this. They were more disciplined than modern armies
>they carried a tool kit with them everywhere that had metal tools. They had to clean and oil their weapons everyday.
False. Not every unit had the same resources. Hell, most of them wasn't even Roman. But dumb as you are, you didn't know.

I go back to the height of Minoan civilization and make sure they have the means to prevent their whole society from being destroyed by the proto-Greeks years down the line.
Plus living in a relatively peaceful society where women have their breasts out 24/7 sounds nice
Based asf, post moar
Yeah I gotta see this shitz
Very little is known about their society, they inhabited Crete before it was Crete, we know their culture revered bulls and was relatively peaceful thanks to the natural barriers and isolated nature of the Island, though they did have some level of sea superiority for a while, many of their cities didn't even have walls around them (though whether this was because they had no real enemies or because the landscape naturally tended to help them defend their cities is unknown). Eventually their civilization was destroyed by the Mycenaean's (proto-Greeks) but whether this was because the Mycenaean's were just more warlike or because the Minoans went through some sort of decline thanks to geographical/societal circumstances and allowed the Mycenaean's to finish them off is also not entirely known.
And again, thanks to the surviving artwork we know that any fashionable Minoan woman always had her breasts out.
dont forget the super volcano that literally washed away a good chunk of their civilization
Also the fact that there is some small amount of evidence that they, or at least one of their colonies, did practice human sacrifice and even cannibalism and the story of the minotaur might have been vaguely based on some proto-Athenian memory of this (their name actually comes from this associating by the guy who discovered their culture in the 1900's)
Though like pretty much everything with Minoan culture, this is all speculation based on a single archeological site on what is believed to be one of their Island colonies near mainland Greece.
Piecing together Minoan culture is like trying to build a Crown Victoria completely from the ground up when all you have is a single hubcap and maybe 5 minutes worth of footage from Heat.
Not that anon but this is all really interesting. Any good reads you'd suggest checking out? Also, where I can find all the art you're posting?
Artist is @capelin_s
Honestly, most of what I know about the Minoans is from youtube documentaries.
Minoans were destroyed by natural disaster, volcanic eruption and earthquake/tidal wave combos, the greeks just mopped them up.
There is also a theory of a religious civil war, but the evidence for that is pretty minimal
Only one pre bronze age collapse civilisation survice and that was ina crippled and much reduced state and that was Egypt. The bronze age collapse was not one factor, it was 100 years of incredible bad luck, earthquake, drought, fire, plague, famine, mass migration and war. I consider youtube 99% utter shit but this is a gem buried in it
i go back in time 15 minutes and sell the ammo
I will stop the Late Bronze Age collapse in it's tracks. Death to the sea Black folk.
>The Sea People caused the Bronze Age collapse
Most brainlet thing I've ever heard, the collapse was caused by a period of widespread famine and economic decline leading to a legitimately apocalyptic event, the Sea People's were just opportunists using the fact that pretty much every civilization (outside of Egypt) was dropping dead like flies to make some quick gainz.
>he thinks one can't stop famine and economic decline with a gun
LMAO
why not get the sea people to end old civilization and start up a new, better one? were the ancient egyptians really that cool? were they cooler than a thousand AR's?
I'm going back and kitting out the sea people and we're going to mog the shit out of you and then disappear from history without a trace.
I'm thinking if my boy Darius fricked the greeks a little harder Alexander wouldn't have been much of a problem, and zoroastrian Persia was neat.
Just me? Realistically I'd get robbed once I'd inevitably had to sleep at some point.
War of northern aggression so that my beloved Dixie can beat them yanks to a pulp
wouldnt even have to change my language
>a couple thousand AR's
I don't think that enough to change things
I agree, but its not about winning,
its about being a part of that time in history.
>12 years not a slave

I'd crown myself godking of the neanderthals and go on a genocidal crusade against the homosexual sapiens
Either the Byzantine Empire in 1071 to try and avert the disaster at Manzikert, or 52 BC to help Vercingetorix win against the romans. Might as well put down 1066 on the Anglo-Saxon side too.
None of them for any particular reason, I'd just want to see how things would change in the future for each of them.
Athens.
It's not the first instance of written record, or proto-democracy or scholarly research but with everything coming together there, it's a good place to steer a civilisation towards a long reign of learning, industrialisation, maths and science with an ethos that isn't particularly barbaric.
Anything earlier and there's too much to teach first, anything later is a wasted opportunity.
Probably aim for just before the punic wars. Turn that around and explain to the Athenians that a formal NATO/EU-like treaty for all the Greeks would be a great basis for a trade empire and that ultimately, coin is a better system of tribute and imperialism than warfare and they just need to be strong enough not to be usurped.
Then explain that bringing the Romans in on the whole treaty would be great for business and save a lot of trouble.
Then I try and teach philosophers everything I can remember about maths, calculus, chemistry, physics etc. Build a network of analog radios stationed in our embassies in every kingdom we know about. See if I can get to semi-conductors in my lifetime.
Battle of Blair Mountain.
I’d give ‘em to the Aztecs after the massacre at the temple. The greedy dirty Spaniards deserved nothing more then a bullet
Late Sixth Century.
I help the Eastern Empire hold on to Italy and expand West. The entire "fall of Rome" would just be another "Crisis of the Fifth Century" type thing.
Then when the Arabs start their shit we dispatch them and Mohammed or his successors is paraded in chains through the streets of Constantinople dragging the Kaba rock during my triumph.
>be anon

I would hand Siddartha a rifle and ensure him that the middle path is only achieve through an equivalent use of dispassionate, measured violence. Hence, Militant Mormon-esque Buddhism would come to become the sole dominant religion in the East, a warrior-monk order lead by saint-soldier Bodhisattvas.
to the outbreak of the civil war and i give everything over to Robert E Lee to try and save the white man from the apocalypse that is our current timeline
You give guns to the side that brought the Black folk here, fought to constantly increase the number of Black folk, built their society around Black folk, and founded the democratic party?
In the hopes of having fewer Black folk?
They also made a lot of half Black folk
Boer War.
Holocaust, to check if it was real once and for all.
Now we're talking.
Hitler's vacation house, 1938, whenever he's there. The ARs are great but the real gem is that I am also there, and I know a decent amount.
>d-day foiled
>tell Japan they really shouldn't frick with our boats
>oh yeah here's the concepts behind lasers, supersonic flight, radar, antiarmorarmor, IDI turbo diesels, aluminum casting, arc welding, palletized container shipping, aircraft carriers, and nooks
>gj on that VW brand tho
>here's the concepts behind lasers, supersonic flight, radar, antiarmorarmor, IDI turbo diesels, aluminum casting, arc welding, palletized container shipping, aircraft carriers, and nooks
You know half the people who came up behind the concepts behind these things were alive at that time. You're not going to wow anyone by telling them how nukes or radar works in theory
There were people who theorized about capturing lightning in jars to make light for centuries, if not millennia, the gap between a theory and an actual object is incredibly vast, something a lot of people these days seem to forget
Yes, but you don't know how to engineer the actual devices because you're an 85 IQ stormhomosexual who doesn't even realise that telling Hitler in 1938 that D Day would happen and giving him 10,000 ARs would ensure that D Day did not occur in the way it did in our timeline. Everyone knew how a nuke would work in 1938, no one knew how to engineer one and it required years of full time output by the brightest minds in the free world to get there (the Manhattan Project). I guarantee that the state of the art was beyond your knowledge in every area in 1938, such that you couldn't teach an expert a single worthwhile thing.
I'm not that anon and was agreeing with you dummy, calm down.
Damn, New Vegas 2 looks really lit.
I don't know exactly when, but I'm going to Jerusalem
I'd go back and tell the Branch Davidians that I was sent by God from the future to prevent the Holocaust and I'd give it to them days before the Waco raid. I'd save the people that McVeigh murdered and change the course of history.
I'm going to the mongol empire right at the beginning of Ghengis Khan
Let's see how far the rape train can plow

>Whitehouse, Washington D.C.
>January 6th.
>Mongolia
>give gengis khan thousands of ARs and ammo
We are all now mongols in a dictatorship world gubbment with even worse weapon laws than the EU
Poland or Finland, 1933. Gotta give them time to train with the weapons, get the manufacturing down for the ammo, and then prep for the mowing down the Red Menace. Remember the ol’ Polish saying:
>It is our duty to fight the Germans, but it is our pleasure to fight the Russians
I'd go to Finland in 1940 and tell them to conquer Germany before anyone else does.
Actually, I'd arrive in 1930 something to give them time to reverse engineer the things and maybe their whole military would become more advanced.
I travel back to Mecca in 610 and shoot Muhammad while he's wandering in desert caves. Nobody ever finds out what happened to him and Islam is never formed.
I then bury the 2,000 ARs and ten million rounds of ammo to baffle archaeologists 1400 years in the future while I live out the rest of my days as a lay scribe to the Patriarch of Antioch, which, along with the rest of the Holy Land, remains the property of the Eastern Roman Empire. I also have a fat Syrian wife with an incredibly hairy bush and have lots of children.
Go back to the early days of the Mongol empire & give them to Subutai. Let's see if this mad lad can conquer all of Europe
