Q Mini Fix

Is this a good gun?

I'm looking for a 300 blackout gun and my local shop has one for sale. Is it really worth 3k?

Clearly thats within his budget otherwise he wouldn't be asking, besides, it's not like there's anything better in that price range.

q is for techbros with more money than sense. they go balls to the wall with cringe hypebeast marketing and the owner is constantly high on his own farts.

It is built around a specific purpose, but I can hardly recommend it for the price/hype. Usually when an expensive gun gets hyped/shilled on YouTube (which it is, because Ian has been sucking their dicks hard since he sold out) it's a bad deal. There are almost certainly dozens of comparable or better rifles for a fraction of the money.

Local shop did a transfer for one and that's a spot-on description. Dude was there with a cybertruck outside (rust and all) trying to show it off to everyone and nobody gave half a frick because it was just an overpriced 16" (in his case) bolt-action. The concept is neat but but it's hypebeast shit meant to appeal to bitcoin billionares/Elon fans.

I bought one in 5.56. It's a fun rifle. Love it. But there is nothing exceptional about the rifle.

For the $3k range you can be into some used Blaser rifles.

I would say that it is worth $2k to $2500 range and I wouldn't balk at paying that price for the rifle.

Honestly, though... the best part about buying one is watching /k/ mald and seethe about Q.

Glass is glass and you don't need to spend more than $1000 on a scope. If you can't make your shot with a Leuopy 3-9 you should be training more. Until the advent of the Acog modern western militaries have been issued airsoft tier scopes since the 60's

dawg you cant be out here trying to flex a 3k bolty and then cope with "you dont need more than 1k on glass" i bet you cant see shit at max mag lmfao

Glass is definitely not glass. The first job a scope has is to hold zero, the second is to track reliably, and the vast majority of scopes don't do those two things.
Fortunately there are some that do and some of those are pretty inexpensive. None of them are that Sig though.

I used to think that too. but still, you can get a Swarovski for really not THAT much.

Not only is your scope a joke but really? A Gucci unique rifle and you DONT opt for the unique caliber too?

I'm a firm believer in hyper familiarity over min maxxing but there's a point of the absurd.
Glass is not glass. You know this. I know this. We all do. It's like saying bullet is bullet when holding up a .223 next to a .338 lapua.
It's like saying soft armor is just as good as level 4 plates.
It's so moronic that I award you the golden medal in mental jumping jacks.

      >Now you're just going to say I'm bashing you because Q hater lolz!!
No. I like funky shit, but I like funky shit that works with its quirks. Picrel.

it's a safe queen. i like the concept though and a 9" bolt action .300 memeout would be really handy where i live to kill intermediate sized varmints near my house. it would be really neat if CZ made a "pistol" version of the CZ 600, or even better if Tikka made one

I'm not going to dislike anyone for dropping $1200 on a rifle I could build for $800. But if you're spending $3-4k you should be able to answer these questions for yourself.

It's good, but not $3000 good. Maybe $1500-2k. Check out the JTAC Elf Owl or Black Collar Arms Pork Sword for a decent alternative

I don't think it is worth $3k but worth is subjective. Maybe it was when it first hit the market but Sig now makes a copy of it cheaper, and so does CZ, and neither of them give up anything to the Q.
Some of the things Q markets is on are just dumb. The 45 degree bolt lift allowing faster shooting is up there at the top. AR ergos being somehow super important in a bolt rifle are too. Their proprietary rail is.
But rifles of this style are pretty useful and the Q is fine beyond its relatively high price tag. I have no desire for a Mini though, if I wanted a 300 BO there are plenty of semis that are about the same weight and just as accurate. The fill size Q is maybe a different story.

you know you can get a 300 sbr AR with the exact same ballistic capabilities but semiauto and a quarter of the price. there are much nicer and more capable bolt action rifles for less than $3k. I'm also poor and couldn't justify spending the money so if you have the money and want it then grab it.

Frick no. Just get a gen2 Ruger American for $400.

You can build your own straight pull version for half the price if not less using a BCA side charger and a barrel with plugged gas port.

      >barrel with plugged gas port.
Just get an uncut chambered blank from green mountain for like a hundred and a half beans.
It's more money but also a super rigid, solid 1" bull barrel and mine (in 308) pushes less than 1moa with match rounds.
It's probably the cheapest way to get a legitimately capable precision rifle upper.
