for a country that prides it self on its top tier AA it hasn't given a great showing.
well it's a problem when most of your top tier stuff is either used to cover a massive frontline and moscow or used to bomb houses and maternity wards.
The trouble is, the Soviet stuff they use was never intended to shoot down Soviet aircraft, which means it's embedded FoF software initially refused to fire at them. In order to get around this, they've basically had to hack their own AA to fire at their own planes, as this is the only way they can engage each other's aircraft.
What this all means is that the AA gunners now have to either wait for visual confirmation or a warning from further a field that the airplane or chopper approaching them is an enemy; so it's pretty much all down to training and human error now as to whether the right aircraft gets shot down or not.
Are you retarded? Their AA is literally so good it is killing every aircraft in range, even friendly ones and civilian. If anything it is too deadly and effective.
Honestly just just speaks for the fact that it's the crews and communications that's lacking, not the systems themselves, no?
>country that prides it self on its top tier AA
Does it? Or maybe its just shitskin wishful thinking backed by kremlin propaganda?
Even in russia there is a meme "50 years of russian AA sucking"
Any word on what airframe? What are the odds on a civilian airliner?
On a video it was definitely a fighter jet but it's impossible to tell which
It was a flanker of some type. I would
Put money on a 30 from the better quality link I saw on >reddit
looks like general shootmaplanedown (previously general abandoon) is settling right into his new job
always the same thing with AA inside Russia
>months of nothing happening
>"lmao EZ job just go sleep and play games, nothing happens anyways"
>Russia gets owned
>"AH FUCK RED ALERT FIGHTERS OVER I-95 SHOOT EVERYTHING DOWN"
>Proceeds to kill all BigBlackCock planes in a 20km Radius
>cycle repeats
su-24
>shot down
Pretty clear that it's just your standard vertical landing.
no way it's a Fencer
My bet is Su-30SM, although Su-34 might be possible too.
SU-34, SU-30 are exclusively used in anti-apartment role.
It's fine, Russia is a rich nation that has no trouble replacing expensive aircraft.
Did that black and yellow UFO shoot it down?
That's no heart. It's the flaming sacred heart of Jesus. It is a miracle we see. The plane falling is a coincidence.
Vatbros are pros at shooting down civilians and their own.
He didn't fly so good
>No ejection
he is Ded
Im going to sound pretty stupid but HOW does AA systems work?
Do russians just enable them and click on "kill everything above us" or something? Dont these things have parameters to identify russian transponders etc? can you select what kind of shit you want to kill? how do you mistake a shitty drone with your own planes?
they ejected though. second video
Thats clearly a Chinese Spy balloon
Its a f35 with mig bodykit.
JUST
How do Russians, as a people, live with themselves?
They lie to themselves about literally everything, just like their black brothers in the US do.
they live permanently in a fantasy world
Living in a Fantasy World means you want have a nice day to leave glorious Russia, we’ve banned such things already
I was suicidal since the age of 11 from knowing that I was subhuman.
When I was around 25 I decided to research my family tree and it turned out I had zero russian blood and only then did I learn about the atrocities commies did on my grand and great-grandparents.
Around the same time I got a citizenship of a normal country and got rid of the russian one.
Still suicidal though.
At least you arent russian brother, God has blessed you dont throw it away
>Still suicidal though
Doesn't make you a bad person.
I simply despise other Russians
For fuck's sakes isn't there something in those AA systems that ID's Friend or Foe, or are they so old they don't even have that?
That all got deleted because they need to shoot ukes also flying old Soviet planes.
My dad is an ex-cloudpuncher and they used to get given codes which meant during x time there'd be friendly planes flying over so don't shoot.
Are Russian operating procedures really worse than 50 year old britbong ones?
Ukrops say they downed it
nah, ukrainians have run out of air defence since start of war. They are just saying it to make russians feel better
It's a pretty hilarious propaganda technique. Russians accidentally down their own bird, and the Ukies know the Russians will never admit to anything even happening (mostly so they can avoid paying compensation to the families). So they release the footage of the shootdown AND say it was their AA doing it, putting the Russians in a no-win situation.
I fucking love this war. The murdered civilians sucks of course, but seeing Russia's bullshit being called every second of every day since 24 February 2022 (Happy Day 372 of the 3-day Special Military Operation!)
Su-34
One pilot dead btw
Don't they only have like 200 trained pilots? Well, atleast had 200?
Difficult to say. Before the mobilization, there were posts from families of Cold War era retired pilots being recalled to fly frames they had no training on, precisely because the first two months of the war made their pilot corps a pilot's corpse
Pilot or WIO?
one pilot dead, other one wounded
