PTR-63

Finally added a 5.56mm rifle to their lineup. Very G41-like with the AR mag well. How successful do you guys think it will be?

Liking guns because they're cool instead of chasing some sort of "meta" for your gucci AR that you'll never use in a combat scenario is valid. Armchair oper8ing to justify which new $500 handguard will give you the edge in the firefight you'll never have looks a lot more like homosexualry to me.

NTA but if you're gonna have a stock back there a buffer tube isn't really a big deal. Folding your gun really only makes sense for two conditions..
                >Transport/Storage
                >Shooting from incredibly tight spaces like within a vehicle
Incredibly niche cases if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer PTR to release a correct version of the G33/G41, but if throwing on a buffer tube stock would drive down costs, I don't see why not.

                Anonymous

Oh it's certainly not a big deal except if you're in vehicles a lot. Other than that it's a matter of preference. But a buffer tube on a gun that doesn't need one still looks silly and it's just funny to see homosexuals seethe when you dare to suggest that any attribute of the AR's design is even the smallest downside in the most niche situation.

That trigger housing looks like aids, but it is interesting they are going for a G41-esque clone since that's never really been done before.
I would be more interested if they made G41-style furniture for it because good fricking luck trying to track down original G41 parts.

No, a stock bcm 16" complete rifle with a rail you "probably" wont replace is $1600. DDM4 is 1900. Noveske is around the same and SR-15s are $3000.

$2000 is basically just your ticket to the serious owner club. With an optic, can and full powered laser, sling, case etc you'll probably be closer to $7-8k invested, although everything else can be moved around.

My rifle without optic was around $2300 in parts I picked out specifically but it does the same thing as any other AR, really.

This gun is embarrassingly and horrendously ugly.
PTR and DSA have always been cringe-lite for the shit they put out, but this.
This is Brazil/Pakistan/Hollywood frankenstein gun shop level ugly.
I would rather get another job at another gas station just to get scalped buying a 93 off hkpro before I would even be seen at the range in my stained sweatpants holding that thing.
