I want an ar15 with a 20" CHF barrel and only have 800 to spend.
Was looking at pic rel, the classic lower, full auto bg, and plain Jane charging handle. All together after tax should be 775ish.
Does anyone have a psa premium upper and want to give their impressions? The brand seems to be anathema to /arg/, and I was wondering if that's justified or not. Are the premium uppers with fn chf barrels Good Enough?
>Are the premium uppers with fn chf barrels Good Enough?
Yes.
They use the same thing BCM uses for their 20" but sell it for a lesser cost
BCM sells a much better BCG
Do it anon
What about the same upper from windham weaponry? Is it any good?
It's worth the extra buck for the better barrel, but the rest is the same cheap parts/sloppy assembly that other PSA uppers have. That's not necessarily a deal breaker, since the cheap parts are good enough and can easily be replaced if they wear out and the sloppy QC can be fixed with some troubleshooting on your end if there's any real problem to begin with. It really depends on the cost savings being worth your time to test out, correct or worst case send it back to be fixed.
WW is pretty good. I've had one of their complete rifles before and it was well put together.
Their trigger groups are fine. Not match triggers or anything but they work.
>Their trigger groups are fine
not my experience at all.
>They have Toolcraft bcgs
yes they do, made to psa standard.
If you think Toolcraft has a separate line for PSA or that they spend money to separate them out, you are a dumbass that doesn’t understand business nor manufacturing.
iykyk
I've never had a problem with anything I've bought from PSA, but I trust you. What problems have you encountered with their uppers? Not OP but I've been shopping around for an 18" or 20"
What would you buy?
I have one with an 18in FN barrel. I trued the receiver face with the PT&G tool and bedded it with lt620 and put a BCM BCG in it. Despite the barrel's gov profile, it doesn't have significant POI change when it gets hot. Unlike my stainless barrels.
Just remember it's good enough not just as good
its a good barrel on an upper assembled by idiots. the rest of the premium upper isnt premium its the exact same shit they use on their cheaper nitrided or freedom uppers.
premium doesnt mean better than the rest of psa. it just means the barrel is better. do not take premium at face value.
that said a premium uppers only like what 50-100 bucks more than the cheap shit? that isnt that much for a better barrel.
its g2g, don't listen to homosexuals on here telling you to spend more and for the love of god do not click on /arg/
ime yes the FN barreled PSAs are fine.
get it, and stay away from anything made by/for psa. the fn barrels are the only reason someone should buy a psa upper
>bcgs
>trigger groups
They have Toolcraft bcgs out the ass.
And the EPT triggers are excellent for the price.
I dont know man the specs on the website seemed dicy and some of the people in the review section said they got out of spec parts
Buying 20" is such an easy way to spot the new guy.
FYI PSA ships all their rifle length uppers with thise really odd handguard. Its like the fat round m4 handguards but full length. NOT A2.
Literally no reason to get a 20"
I would only want a M16A1 clone if it were to be a 20".
M16a1s had chrome lined pencil barrels, not CHF barrels
I got their 10.5 complete premium upper with the FN barrel.
That upper has nothing been solid, even with less dwell time than the 20" you got, I've got about 6k rounds through mine.
Just make sure to QC it and run some ammo through before you trust it.
