Proof that knife guys are retarded

The PM2 and 940 Osborne are clearly the most popular knives among people willing to spend actual money on a knife. Yet they are both moronic knives. The PM2 is too big and yet too fragile. The Osborne is too big and too thick behind the edge. People buy the PM2 because other people say it's the best knife even though it looks ugly as frick. People buy the 940 purely because it looks cool.

99% of them would be better served getting a Para 3 or a 945. But they won't get one because smol knife. they NEED something 3.4~ even though they don't. they aren't even good designs as weapons.

This but unironically. A pocket knife is a pocket knife. A house key will cut packing tape just as well as a pocket knife which is probably 50% of the work most brand-name pocket knives do. The vast majority of the people who "work" with their pocket knife are buying disposable no-names because when your pocket knife is also a screwdriver and a gasket scraper or whatever they don't last long no matter whom etched their logo on it.

    940 is a farm knife.
PM2 is a paratrooper knife good at stabbing and for survival.
one is great at being a basic every day pocket knife even though it was designed for something else
the other is a dumb over priced farm knife.
enough said. you probably have never pushed a PM2 to the point of breaking anyways to claim its fragile.

no, the Military was designed for people in the military. not specifically any type of person in the military; just a general purpose utility knife for military personnel.

I'm not OP. A survival knife should be more durable than the average knife, not less. Whenever I see a blade marketed for the military fail, its always these same excuses. If it fails as a fighting knife, they'll claim it was meant for survival not combat and if it fails at basic survival/bushcrafting, they'll claim it was only meant as a stabbing utensil in combat.

I don't understand this thread. I've had a 940 for 10+ years (before they were expensive) and "big" doesn't apply to this knife. It carries like an extremely small knife and I've beat the hell out of it without any problems. I prefer the shape of the 707 and 710 but you get more blade for the size knife in the 940.

either are fine. 940 is very overpriced and more of a do-all. pm2 isn't too big, it just has a large handle for the amount of edge. it's not fragile and obviously neither are designed as weapons. para 3 and 945 are no better. they were among the best you could get like 5+ years ago and are still good, but competition is more stiff and there's a wider selection of brands and models to choose from that don't suck dick.
