Nah it’s not like that, Girkin is a sort-of leader (not in a literal sense) of a newer political movement in Russia which I’ve heard called Z nationalists. Tl;dr stop half assing it. Saying they’re controlled by Putin is a bit of a misnomer, they aren’t necessarily anti-Putinists but they are a political wing which exists inside and outside of the Kremlin.

It's funny because Mao won precisely because he was able to create a more unified chain of command than the KMT. Because of his absolutely horrific failures as a political leader later in life, and how delusional he became as he was increasingly living in an echo chamber, completely disassociated from reality, people forget that young Map was an incredibly daring and successful military commander who could act pragmatically, along with being a brilliant tactician.

But at best you could say his grand strategy had an enormous human toll that bought China real power on the world stage. He did take China out of half a century of war and a full century of stagnant population to an absolutely exploding population (China's population almost doubled under Mao), and it was one of a tiny handful of countries with space launch capability and nuclear weapons towards the end of Mao's life and had fought the US and UN to a stalemate (by being willing to take way higher losses) and successfully withstood a military conflict with the USSR. At the same time, the consequences of his policies had been absolutely horrific, and show the same darkness of spirit that arguably reaches its apex in Stalin. That said, I would say that Mao was more cruel out of delusion than Stalin, while also being at least actually good as a general instead of continually fricking over war efforts, so I give Map a slight edge over Stalin, but obviously it's a race to the absolute bottom of the barrel with those two.

          Anonymous

Stalin was cruel with a very clear (but still fricked up) reasoning of creating "stability" and loyalty through constant terror and paranoia.
Mao's cruelty was half complete delusion of grandeur and excessive narcissism, and half insane toddler tantrum when the first half's results made some people not happy with him. So you either died because of him being "benevolent", or because he fricked up yet again and tries to un-do it by killing everyone who even mildly indicated they might possibly think he did indeed frick up. The fact that China even survived Mao as a general idea of a nation is astonishing.

            >The fact that China even survived Mao as a general idea of a nation is astonishing.
debatable. The cultural devolution alone effectively wiped out the previous centuries of history. Only little, mostly corrupted pieces, remain mostly due to oral tradition. To the point where a couple of old buddha statues emerging from an old dams reservoir on the mainland was a big event as all of them were blown up and destroyed by his rat gang.

The contrast between Taiwan, which more or less is a continuation of old china, and mainland is just disturbingly stark. Specially with anything related to culture (or lack of it)

      >trusting Russians when they make up excuses about how something is totally someone else's fault
Prigozhin blamed Shoigu for his lack of ammunition, despite getting priority over most other units.
Chechens constantly blame everyone else for the fact they're not actually fighting at the front.
Everyone blames PMCs/Rosgvardia/SOBR/Mobiks/Bombassiks for any defeat happening within 50km of their positions, but everyone is quick to claim any advances made as their own.
If you trust Russian sources, you might be lead to believe the entire war is a series of retreats caused by the failings of random politicians and commanders that force otherwise victorious troops to pull back.

            Skill issue.

If western politicians were not spineless cowards, this war would have been over 6 months ago.

And what's really funny is thats this is on purpose. Creating many branches that constantly compete rather than cooperate exist so dictators wont be couped. Putin have no one to blame but himself.

This method is good when one group is strong enough to beat enemy. But now all of them cannot hope to fight efficiently against Ukies.

This reminds of why DPR and LPR exist. Fearing that one Donbass people republic will be too unified for Russia they created those two republics instead

        Anonymous

What people don’t quite realize is this applies to the branches as well
It’s why the Navy had a minor rebellion at the start of the war, refusing to risk their assets, and it’s why the Air Force is mostly refusing to do frick all and risk their assets. In Georgia in the war, Russia lost about 6 aircraft to a country who never launched their airforce- because Russia air defense shot all those Russian birds down, which they still deny lmao. If Russia birds flew there’s no way for the Russia airforce to communicate to the Russian army air defense assets that they are flying and not to target them, at least not reliably and during heavy flying. There is almost no communication between the two. Again, remember the situation of radios and communications between formations at the start of the war

This also any claims from Putin that Army will be reformed are bullshit. He will never do it, not really, because he or any other dictator risks creating force that can oppose him.

Like broadband max gammaray full spectrum jamming 24/7 but because they don't want to lose EW gear they are mostly behind the line of contact and mostly Jamm themselves.... And the jam every thing like GPS but they need GPS too..

So there were periods when nobody could communicate untill some officer started to b***h at the jammer unit. This appeared to happen multiple times at the Kiew feint. A mix of jamming and open communication on boafengs and other commercial shit...

Plastic surgery is good for fixing basically 1 major deformity, usually a big ugly nose or weird jaw. It's all diminishing returns from there, but that's still enough to get a lot of people addicted and forever chasing that first big jump in attractiveness.

      >how have they been advancing and seizing territory for most of the war.
blitzkrieg tactics worked for a whopping 1 day and a half, after that it has been 437 days of very small frontline changes, with two fronts collapsing and retreating and minor villages captured.
      >How did Wagner take over 90% of Bakhmut, the most heavily defended location on the front?
put this question the other way around:
if the russians were not so messed up, how did Wagner not fully take over Bakhmut, a small city with little strategic importance, the most heavily assaulted location on the front?

Have they? Russia took a bunch of territory when it had the element of surprise at the start of the war, then lost a shitload of it about six months later. Since then their advances are measured in meters.

      >>What do we know?

Today at Bakhmut Russian 72nd brigade flank got buttfricked by Azov and they had to retear. Giving up around 9 swuare kilometers of the territory.

      >>How do we Know it?

From head honcho o of Wagner itself. He posted a video were he comppaains that Army are so incompetent that had to run away from Ukiesn letting them recapute area that Wagner spend weeks taking and it cost them 500 men to do it.

      >>What do we know?
Ukraine managed to clear Russian bridgehead over river south of Bakhmut guarded by 72nd brigade, only 3 km2 but 60 confirmed killed Russians, 80 more possible Kia and 5 PoWs, to establish that bridghead Wagner had 500 KIA
      >How do we know it?
Azov posted short 2 minute video that proved that information to be true. Prigogine made a seething rant about it, now more people from Russian side started explaining what happened

Wagner is still big in Africa, and provides "protection" to thing like gold mines.

The real thing with Prighozin is that he's a major Russian Mafia boss who started his career in organized crime in the 1980s and early 1990s, was close to Putin's gang, and used that position to make more and more money, illegally, of course. For example his catering business, which is a oligarchy, is notoriously low quality yet he gets big contracts, always.

At some point he became very connected to the FSB, setting up clandestine operations for them like internet shill farms like the IRA and then setting up Wagner, which is just the FSB's and Russian Mafia's private army, which answers just to them and not the actual military, hence the fighting with the Ministry of Defense.

Mercenary groups are also highly illegal in Russia too, so Wagner itself is a big criminal racket, with them being involved in basically looting the countries they work in Africa of things like gold and silver. Plus some other more convenient illegal jobs, like hits and murders, the usual. Of course like every Mafia business, a big cut gets moved up the chain till it reaches the big boss of bosses himself, Putin.

Of course, western "analysts" and other such dorks never factor in the Mafia and organized crime into their "analysis" of Putin and Russia, despite everybody relevant politically in Russia either being in the Mafia or being associated to it in some way but they never factor that into anything anywhere. Bunch of stupid nerds.

Wouldn't be shocked if they simply don't have the ammo to give to Wagner. Or they just want Wagner to fail even harder.
But also possibly Wagner is just lying in hopes that they get more and to have excuses for their slow progress.

All of these are not good signs for Russias fortune.
