If you plan to bug in where you live, fortify, and grow food (you will be ok if there's an EMP and minor nuclear exchange but likely not very well off if it's intense nuclear exchange) here's a quick list of things to do.
1. Buy a wood chipper and tiller that can run on gas. The tiller will make planting large square fields much easier (which you will need to do if you want to grow enough staples) and the wood chipper will make wood clippings which can be used as animal bedding or for fires/
and energy. Ideally your tools should be less dependent on digital controls. I'm pretty certain most pull string tools will still work, but if I'm wrong an anon should correct me.
2. Lots of seeds. Stack corn seeds, melon seeds, and keep potatoes around. These will produce high calories needed for survival.
3. Rain barrel is a must. Have ways to filter the water, either life straws or distiller. If you're not in a radioactive zone and just without power and electronics, water should be fine.
3. Pesticides. Know what pesticides you'll need to use to grow your staple crops in your region and stock up on some. There's no need for being organic because nagger you will starve without pesticides.
4. .22 rifle. Animals will be hungry and you will have to keep them at bay. Especially if you end up with your own animals. You will need a small rifle to shoot predators.
You won't survive alone, so scrap all that shit and start practicing on your social skills and what are you planning to contribute to your community.
The only reason why we're able to go alone, barely survive in modern times is because of prosperity of cheap gas and electricity.
