Post unexpected procurements, for example, I was surprised to learn the Danes use the modernized M60E6 as an LMG. It also looks cool as fuck.

Irish Defense Forced adopted a highly upgraded FAL some years ago in a DMR role
Deargodwhy.jpg
The FAL is kino but a DMR? In 2023?
all those tax haven bux don't actually get spent where its needed, so we have to make do with all the FALs we have in storage.
Necessary for sniping their own people
>not an armalite
muh armor piercing bullets of me little armalite
The IRA didn't have many AR's left after the troubles, mostly because the CIA stopped sending them once the job was complete
Can you even accurize the FAL enough to be a halfway decent DMR?
Also the M60E6 is pretty cool but I want to see it with a full length barrel and not the short one.
Its probably fine, the DSA rails are pretty rigid in lieu of free floating and (if you believe every poster on falfiles) bench shooters have gotten FALs down below 2 MOA, so the guns are theoretically capable of it. The importance of sub-moa is overstated in this day and age tbh, 4 is enough to hit a chest cavity at 300 yards. Nonetheless, they're getting replaced with some kind of AR10 in the next few years.
FAL accuracy isn't really that bad, I don't know why people here talk about it as if it's a 5 MOA gun. IME a regular-ass FAL can do 2 MOA easily if you put a scope on it.
Cool camo
How is that even remotely unexpected, the FAL was the main service rifle of the IDF for years and years and years just like South Africa still uses a FAL as a DMR rifle

DA
JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS
I love how shabboz goyim try to make a point by this compelling argument when faced with facts they don’t like.
>only da Joos know how to bribe (and SIG is apparently now Jooish)
yes
how did you not know this?
Nobody else has discovered the power of bribery? The garden gnomes are truly the smartest race.
lol. go kiss the wall and donate to your local synagogue, gay
Best pistol I have ever owned.
Vietnam's love affair with Israeli guns which they manufacture under license.
Interesting, will they adopt the Tavor?
Probably not for widespread use. They specifically chose an ACE variant with traditional AK controls so I doubt they're interested in straying too far from that for the time being.
Mexicans made a better G36 than HK
Pretty cool grenade launcher
Very low recoil and flat trajectory too. It's meant to fire a special version of the 40mm grenade. I think the Germans also want to try and build something similar.
HK couldn't fathom someone coming up with a superior design and got super ass blasted about it, going so far as to sue them over it .
Didn't the Mexicans just make it more metal and less plastic, I will never understand why euros love plastic receivers so much. Imagine a metal AUG or a metal F2000. I wonder what other guns mexico can fix
I think that's just the chic of the time? All those weapons were developed in the 90s and early 2000s, plastic was the new super material.
It promised to be lighter and cheaper than the stamped or even milled metal parts of the past (like the G3) while providing (nearly) the same strength.
Is it possible to get that optic/carry handle?
Sure, how's your spanish?
>Me gusta tu culo, amigo!
Where's my carry handle?
Sure thing, Pedro.
Estonian scout in Afganistan with an M14, they hate it. Wonder why they got it, maybe it was cheep
IIRC they got dumped a lot of western weapons for close to free or for free when they gained independence from the Soviet Union and/or joined NATO.
Even the Swedes gave them and the other Baltic countries a bunch of license produced G-3s and MAG-58s.
Sweden played a big role in the creation of the modern militaries of Latvia and Estonia. Loads and loads of equipment and their officers were educated in swedeish military academies.
Probably the most cost efficient defence investment in swedish history except maybe ukraine aid.
Sweden also got access to soviet equipment previously never seen in the west. (Shipped on civilian ro-ro passenger ferries in secret)
>(Shipped on civilian ro-ro passenger ferries in secret)
this is why the ferry Estonia sank btw
That hasn't been 100% confirmed yet, but it seems likely.
There's certainly something sketchy about the whole thing since the Swedish government spent like 25 years doing everything in their power to keep people from investigating the sinking.
M14s were a gift, at least to Lithuanians. The Swedish small arms weren't free, though, we just got a good deal when they were moving on to newer gear
God i fucking want a m60, even if it's cucked. But i refuse to pay over $20k for a cucked version when I can get a transferable m1919 for that price
Looks super ergonomic and it's center of gravity seems to be further back then most machine guns, I'm sure it's a dream to shoot. The M249 feels like swinging around a hammer, no weight in the back. Pistol grip for the m60 is almost in the middle.
It did feel better to hold than the m240. I've shot both in Vegas but god damn i cant help seething that even in private sells, most people want so much for the semi versions. I might just have to be forced to become a SOT to buy a post sample
Finland bought 100,000 Type-56-2 AKs from China just to keep them in storage in case of SHTF.
And Finnish tankers still use East-German folding side-folder AKs.
Interesting, when I was went to an exercise last year the danes had these
that may be the ugliest thing I've ever seen that wasn't intentionally trying to be cursed
Looks better than any monstrosity China puts out
They were telling me that they were supposed to be used with drums originally, but the drums didn't work so now they have a 13 pound m16 as an lmg
As a Dane i can positively say that it is a piece of fucking shit. Only the home guard uses it so you must have encountered them. My unit uses the m60e6 anyways as basically all the rest of the army but fuck that thing. Pic related is the Wikipedia description.
>shitty retard weapon
my fucking sides
>shitty retard weapon
Kek, how do you like the m60? I wonder why more countries don't use it
As a mounted weapon the M240/FNMAG is better, the M60E6 is a better infantry weapon as it’s semi bullpup design makes it easier to shoulder fire (not super useful) and have better barrel length vs overall size. It’s a more compact GPMG
When we invaded Iraq we ran out of M240s somehow and some units purchased M60E4s as replacements and they did very well.
>Got the informal nickname of "Shitty retard weapon" because it was a weapon designed to do everything but couldn't do anything
Holy shit! Denmark made their own M14!?
I believe it is a Canadian design
>shitty retard weapon
thats hilarious
But it's pretty much the IAR concept the USMC is obsessed with. I thought the IAR was the best thing since sliced bread?
>all weapons of the same class have similar performance l
>>>/v/ is that way
HK416 is good but it's no space magic. Colt Canada knows how to put together a good rifle and the basic design (a heavy barrel M16) is well proven. The magazine issue would apply to both equally.
It is a fine rifleqwnwnw in that regard. Colt Canada makes fantastic products. It just didn’t fit in at all with what the Danish soldiers wanted or needed.
Marines started issuing casket mags first then drums, i think the whole just a heavier rifle shit didnt turn out quite so
Yep. As a fellow dane i can only say that this thing very much suits its name.
The new one is a lot more manouverable and seems more effecient overall. That said, there is something special about m/62 that i cant help but miss.
>something special
Ya, it's pure sex
Philippines special forces with a suped up M60
Is that an E4 with upgrades or an E6?
The Dutch currently issue the pinnacle of M16 development.
What handguard?
Cold Canada Integrated Upper Receiver (IUR). The mixed colors are weird but it seems pretty nice.
The British use a few Leopard 1A5 based Hippo beach recovery vehicles.
It looks absurd, I love it
>looks cool as fuck
I'm fully erect
Malaysian navy uses XM8s
No they don't
Those are FAMAS
the pink berets are mocking the seals toy guns
The 20 inch barrel on the carbine length XM8 looks stupid. Get the rifle length XM8 for that.
FA-50 for Poland.
It felt like someone in our MOD went on a shopping spree (probably because US/UE is paying for it) and now military is trying hard to justify it and come up with explanation why why actually always wanted a light attack aircraft.
>UE
??
>FA50
It's a cheap missile truck and Poland needs shit like that because they can't afford a proper air force
We still issue the 1990s trijicon rx01, for every single shotgun, fleet-wide
Peruvian marines use the FN F2000
I;m thinking about thos Dutch 590s
For the life of me I can't find a picture of it in use but the Swedish military has Beretta over/unders in stock for riot control.

Bermudan Mini 14
Wtf are those stocks, what did they do to the mini 14
Cool, are those the select fire ones? They might need some magazines.
French police w/Keltec shotguns
The KSG is also in use in certain prisons in the USA right?
Fun fact, they also have both Saigas and Veprs, and the GIGN, the special unit of the Gendarmerie, has bought Czech rifles in 7.62x39.
the KSG is basically made for police and security so this kinda makes sense
me just now at the convenience store, i unexpectedly procured a bar of snickers
