>"#WojskoPolskie [Polish army] will be equipped with modern equipment, with #Bayraktar TB2 [Turkey's Bayraktar TB2 drones], which have a striking force and have proven themselves in the wars in the east of our continent. They were also used in Africa," the ministry said on Twitter.
>Poland, a member of the EU and NATO, will purchase the UAVs from Turkey for the first time.
They placed orders for those over a year ago.
Thanks Poland.
>An in-demand proven and widely exported Turkish weapon system
Would have been inconceivable 30 years ago.
Really? Turkish cannons were exported to places as far as inca empire in the west, majapahit and ayutthaya kingdom in the east and anywhere in between as far as 16th century
>ackchually
>A stolen Byzantine invention
typical
If we really want to split hair, we can say that the Byzantine stole both firearm and
blackpowder technology from China
Really, frick Hungary

Pretty sure the gun (either a swivel gun or a carronade) were either taken from barbary pirates or requisitioned by spanish fleet who in turn used them for their outpost garrison.
There's no way a sapa inca has had diplomatic ties with ottoman empire
Question for all of you drone enthusiasts out there: from what I've heard, Bayraktar is probably the cheapest option in this class of drone (ie long-term loitering, surveillance, guided munitions). It's not really viewed as being able to go up against competent air defenses and isn't very fast, stealthy or have a big payload, but it's essentially the bare minimum to get the job done. We'll call it the VW Buggy of drones. On the other hand of the spectrum you have stuff like the MQ-9 Reaper, which is expensive as frick and is like a sports car. So is there a medium-price point drone with medium-level capabilities? Like a Honda Civic of drones?
Bayraktar is more like the Civic, Chinese stuff is on the low-end. See Libya as a case study in how it performed against Wing Loong.
Reminder that Germany, France and Greece bullied Poland for buying Bayraktar TB2 drones to defend itself from a potentially aggressive Russia.

European states sold $400M in weapons to Russia since 2014 in spite of sanctions, with 78% of it coming from France and Germany alone. They refused to sell weapons to Ukraine prior to 2022 at all, except for Poland and the Baltic States.

Germany even blocked defensive equipment like drone jammers. While Russian drones were found to use German engines.

When Ukraine first used the Bayraktar TB2 against Russian-backed forces in October 2021 to save Ukrainian troops from shelling, France and Germany literally condemned it.

Krauts and frogs are backstabbing Black folk
And this is why every European country is eyeing Korea for new systems instead of buying European.
>Reminder that Germany, France and Greece bullied Poland
Imagine being pitiful enough to bullied by Greece. Only Poland could pull this off…
Greeks chimp at anyone involved with Turkey.
Germoney and fronce sure has shown they arent trustworthy (self proclaimed) leaders of europe.
More clay pigeons for Russian EW systems
That is literally news from a fricking whole year ago, long before ukraine war or russian build up at the border. What is the point of this thread?
