Please help a total noobie:
I’m looking for a handgun with the following qualities, in order of importance:
>supressor ready
>crisp trigger
>SA/DA with exposed hammer
>ambidextrous
So far my research led me to a rather narrow list of candidates:
FNX, HK45, that weird variant of the Beretta M9, CZ P09.
I have strong preference for native subsonic calibres.
Any suggestions or comments? Any of you own any of these? My experience with FN is limited to FAL and that 9mm subcompact, both seemed really good to me. HK I’ve tried the USP in 40SW, very nice as well.
> help a total noobie:
get some taste
shut the fuck up
have a nice day.
You first shit stain.
Look at a general thread op.
EG Handguns general.
>asking generals for advice
never do this
I've found HG to be pretty friendly and helpful. Can't speak on any of the others.
Don’t listen to the retards at /hg/ unless you feel like being shilled into a beretta
Anon, people are told Beretta are good but they're also given other options if they don't want a Beretta. Hell the guide that's usually in the thread (if a dumbass doesn't fuck anything up) will show a list of recommended handguns of many variety's.
Damn, he beat us to the thread and warned OP
We’ll get anon next time with a beretta recommendation
The others are either hit or miss. I mean the most notable bad general here is /arg/ for essentially treating their AR's like a metrosexuality. /hg/ is a genuinely good general but with that it also occasionally has that one guy who will just bomb the thread because sig was mentioned or someone just trolls the thread because someone didn't take their bait.
>go to the beretta fetishist general to get advice
Calm down, son
That's some solid advice
why ambi? are you wrong-handed? I also think you're needlessly limiting yourself with the suppressor ready thing as well
Yes, severely wrong handed.
Spend the money, get an LTT Beretta, and be happy.
>crisp trigger
Not the FNX. It's a good gun but the trigger is mega AIDS.
Is there no aftermarket triggers for the FNX?
You should try the 545, it’s even worse.
What reason does a DA/SA have to exist if its trigger sucks?
Shoot the gun 1000 times for break in
It's FN lmao
There's your answer
Everyone tells me this but I have no problem with mine. And others that shoot it say they're surprised. Did I just get a good trigger?
I bought an FNX Duty back when they came out and didn't mind the trigger, but I eventually sold it because I was a 20 something poorfag. A year or two ago I bought an FNX Tactical and the trigger seems significantly worse than I remember my old one's being. It's not so much weight as it is mushiness. Maybe they're just inconsistent. I think there's only one gunsmith out there who does a serious trigger job on them though.
using your criteria select the pistols that meet your criteria. Go to store to hold and wave around, see how it fits your hands, is there enough room in the trigger guard to easily more your finger from high ready to trigger (glocks at tight for me, but CZ SP-01 and HK USP are much roomier and better for me - also lets me use gloves. Based on feel and fit, go to range and rent them and shoot them several times. See which one you like best. Buy. You can always sell if you really don't like it.
It's a toss up between the FNX and the Beretta. I'd say the HK but the trigger sucks balls.
i would consider cz as well (they have a few models that fit your criteria). i had an sp01 tactical. it was a good shooter but i just hated the fde finish.
px4 based
OP here, I’ve tried the PX, they are fugly but very ergonomic and functional. I don’t believe there’s a version with high sights and threaded barrel end though. Also no subsonic option there.
>px4
>suppressor ready
It's barely even suppressor capable. Rotating barrels are anti-suppressor.
oh my bad i missed that part
idk why everyone says this i think they look cool
The Arex Zero 1t fits everything but ambi, and is an outstanding pistol for less than $600. Comes in both compact and full sizes, I'd really reccomend the LOK or hogue grips for it though the stock grips are a bit slippy and some people find them chunky.

I have not ever seen an arex anywhere in the lgs I go to and I certainly haven't seen someone shoot one outside of a certain Slovenian youtuber. Other than that I don't trust em.
MAC has a 7 year old torture test video where he test it and 9 other guns including a glock and finds the Arex Zero 1 to be the most reliable. TFBTV has a great video on on them where James gushes about them. I personally love mine, it's my favorite pistol. Check the handgun general there is a ton of discussion about them.
KYGUNCO in kentucky is the only place I've seen one on a shelf.
Nice, I’m digging the TC only problem is that it’s 9mm and I don’t like the idea of using subsonic load.
If they ever made a single stacker 45 in this frame I’d be sold already.
>I’m digging the TC only problem is that it’s 9mm and I don’t like the idea of using subsonic load.
....why? You just can't stand the idea of buying readily available and widely used 147gr ammo? Any particular reason for this autism?
It’s pure autism.
It really does, interesting call Anon. Thanks. It will be difficult to find one for me to try, though.
b-but then people on PrepHole will make fun of me for buying an offbrand knockoff pistol
I'm going to assume that rye whiskey is bad because of the excessive branding.
Unless it was good before, and they redesigned the packaging to be faggy, in order to up the price, like they did to muh Templeton
USP .45 Tactical.
That just sounds like you want a USP id recommend the 45 one if you're suppressing because suppressed 45 is nice.
Suppressors on handguns are a complete meme but I would look at either the Beretta or the CZ P-09. The FNX and HK both suck ass. The CZ P-09 is great, but it's ridiculously oversprung from the factory. The reset will also always be mediocre no matter what CGW upgrades you throw at it. The 92 has much better stock performance than the P-09, but after you modify them both it's a toss up. I think I would prefer the beretta for a dedicated suppressor host because it's liable to be less picky about recoil springs.
