Godddamn pinkertons
Enough to take your magic cards away at least
>hiring a pmc to steal cardboard
I feel like this is an unsafe bet considering the whole Amazon thing from a couple years ago
>he doesn't know

Sidearms with lvl 3 soft armor at best, plan accordingly.
They're well-armed enough, considering they're planning to become a post-apocalyptic private army. The service they're currently selling is protection to resource barons hoarding food and water when the shit goes down.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/04/10/magazine/climate-change-pinkertons.html
Keep them well-paid the next time a natural disaster occurs and there's no number of starving, dispossessed peasants they won't shoot to keep you and your country club bunker buddies safe from having to pull together with the rest of society.
Pinkerton cocksuckers.
Light infantry level at most. They are, as you put it, rent-a-cops, but their true forte is strike breaking. In fact, it's the one line of business they've been consistently in throughout their history. These lowlives even helped amazon spy on union organisers.
Lots of private security companies today are raking in the easy money that millionaire/billionaire postapoc prepping provides. However, whatever services or protection plans they offer go right out the window in the scenarios their clients envision, as the rent-a-cops have family & friends too, and too many to fit into any secluded compound they're guarding.
>Light infantry level at most. They are, as you put it, rent-a-cops
>I visited a restaurant called Bombshells and the 2 security guards outside were wearing plate carriers. I can't remember the exact shotguns they were carrying, but they may have been Benelli M4s, and they were carrying a lot of extra shells on their guns and on their clothing. I don't know what the fuck goes on at this military themed restaurant, but these weren't costumes and they weren't greeters
I can't imagine there's a shortage of gwot vets who wouldn't jump at the paycheck
The thing is the paycheck for the guys at restaurants and such is shit, I know a few and they get like $17 an hour
lmao, stoned high schoolers in gas stations make that much and are probably more in need of the plates and guns.
I guess the actual appeal is larping as a red shirt in a john wick movie.
>These lowlives even helped amazon spy on union organisers
good, fuck unions
Do you also wear a shirt that says "STEP ON ME HARDER, DADDY BEZOS"? Hating on organized labor is a classic bootlicker move.
They're mid-tier, but again, there are no particularly great rent-a-cops. There are some outfits that do VIP security exclusively that will charge you an arm and a leg and actually do a good job of it, but you will never see them at your local mall.
In the bad old days, the cheaper the outfit, the shadier the shit they would work on. Nowadays the low- and mid-tier shops have to keep their noses somewhat clean because they're all owned by huge conglomerates that care about profit above all else and are averse to bad publicity.
The high-end market has turned into a gagglefuck, from mostly legit personnel and asset protection, to outright private spy agencies and rent-a-thug services like Tigerswan. The latter sort are problematic because they essentially insert themselves into an unregulated gap between local govt and law enforcement. The cops can't legally spy on you to the extent that these guys are willing to, so they offload that part to the private operators, and set up "fusion centers" where the semi-illegally acquired intel gets passed on to the cops. Collaboration with the cops servers also as their cover to act as intimidators on behalf of the govt, as well as any potential private interests involved.
Btw if you're one of those who are particularly sensitive about violations of your rights - the encroachment by private security should scare the hell out of you. These guys are the do-what-I-want permit that allows cops to indirectly spy on you, conduct illegal searches, inflitrate your clubs, associations, social circles and the sort. They can do whatever not because they're above the law in any sense, but because they operate right beside it. And if they ever get caught doing something that can't be easily swept under the rug, the cops simply say "we didn't know" and give the company a slap on the wrist. And then they'll sit right back for another morning meeting at their fusion center after some minor procedural changes to satisfy legislators.
>Do you also wear a shirt that says "STEP ON ME HARDER, DADDY BEZOS"? Hating on organized labor is a classic bootlicker move.
NTA but this is the issue with the "union" topic. The anon you're responding to probably doesn't hate the concept of employee protections and collective bargaining and all that other stuff. You probably don't like the idea of pseudo-political organizations funneling money to shitlib gun-grabbers and other politicians whom the dues-paying union member may or may not actually support (vague 1st amendment issues, especially when you consider how coercive unions can be with laborers paying dues).
What the union is in concept and what the union has become are two entirely separate things. Still, weirdly, when people who don't like the latter thing I noted say "fuck a union," people like you instinctively think they're against the type of shit that's given the person saying it a job they don't fucking hate and that probably pays them something approaching their worth.
tl;dr you can fucking despise unions in their current-year iteration and all they've become, without hating the concept of organized labor.
Two things can be true at the same time.
NTA but I'm a bit saddened that two obviously thoughtful guys have fallen so hard for corporate anti-union propaganda.
The Union is never wrong huh.
I didn't say that either. I guess I'm probably biased because I do work(unpaid) for our union on the side. So I get to see a lot of shit that management tries to sneak past us.
Almost all unions depend on guys like me doing unpaid work on our time to try and improve things for everyone. We do make mistakes though and so do the higher ups. But in my experience they were always honest mistakes as opposed to anything malicious or unethical.
I’m in a union.
Dues aren’t much but all of my employer’s unions are very top down; the working folk are not making decisions, can’t easily initiate anything, and are used to provide money and vote yes or no on decisions made my the union execs.
All i need to know is american dockworkers and their actions have made US ports some of the least efficient in the entire world.
We can also look at shipbuilders unions and how they killed the US shipbuilding industry.
Too be fair it was steel workers, and other groups that helped kill US shipbuilding.
Yeah but the thing about this is, unions becoming basically "de-politicized" and also turning into a rotating door of career union guys who just care about protecting their own positions are related. There's a term in organized labor for this, "business union," which I think means the union is basically run like a business too instead of being in principle a democratic organization controlled by the actual members. That's what they do: don't worry about politics, don't get involved, just let the union handle it...
I have some friends involved in unions who tell me about this stuff. Some unions in the U.S. are better than others, some have really good people in them, some are getting better, and some are really bad and mostly grifts. They seem to be better the more "rank-and-file" workers are organized and participate and hold the leadership accountable. One of my friends is in a really bad one where the leadership discourages that, which sounds like a sick joke, but most of the workers are demoralized anyways and don't think of what they're doing as a "career" and don't get involved so nothing changes.
The unions have their own internal politics. I know another guy in the Teamsters from a multi-generation family of union members, and being a union guy is a big part of his identity (I think this is an underrated but good thing about them, especially for men, it's like a tribe but based on work instead of gang bullshit), and was part of this organized faction within the Teamsters to elect a different group of people organized in the "rank and file" instead of the old Hoffa clan, and there's a big contract renewal coming up, maybe they'll go on strike I dunno.
Nothing is perfect in the world. But there are also costs to 40+ years of Reaganomics and the decline of organized labor in society that makes people reconsider it.
Pinkertons:
10/10 post.
>tl;dr you can fucking despise unions in their current-year iteration and all they've become, without hating the concept of organized labor.
This is PrepHole. Get you’re nuanced opinion out of here. This board is all or nothing anymore. Now excuse me while I weep for a bygone era
>Hating on organized labor is a classic bootlicker move
Most unions end up being worse than the conditions pre-union.
Work hard so you can get a promotion but it makes the lazy old fucks look bad, they pressure management to cut back your hours and said lazy fucks make your work life miserable.
Lazy fucks in redundant positions are difficult to fire and make everything inefficient.
Forced to pay dues that go towards paying six-figure salaries to union leaders who sit on their fat asses and care more about protecting the union's power than improving conditions/benefits for workers.
Resolving personal grievances must go through the union and they may not support you.
Can't get jobs in union shops unless you join the union.
As
said, I have no problem with the idea of unions but in practice they generally screw over the individual with more bullshit than the original reasons for which the unions were formed.
Would you rather work ups or FedEx, have to choose one
False choice fallacy.
Doing what?
Nta. Fuck ups. Their union is shit and didnt even try to help me when they accused me of theft. The funny thing is as a kid in georgia i was part of the strike with my mom that created the union.
I remember getting a koozie at UPS and then leaving it at security because they got suHispanicious. It had the fucking UPS logo on it.
Bro stop listening to talk radio. Trust me you'll grow out of this phase and realize they lied to you too.
Not him but
>they pressure management to cut back your hours
>Lazy fucks in redundant positions are difficult to fire and make everything inefficient.
Dealt with those two except the positions weren't redundant.
Play the game and get over on the old fucks. They'll roll out the red carpet for you and say stuff like "I taught him everything he knows" and they might even do just that. They will give you shit if youre some autist who won't crack a joke or complains to management
>I'm a good boy and I can't wait to spend all my good boy points at the company store
Unions are great in principle. Too bad the all devolve into protectionist bullshit that prevents the dipshits from getting canned and protecting shit people.
No bootlicking needed to say cyberpunk corpo dystopian future we are careening into AND unions are shit.
have a nice day corporate stooge
ditto
>Light infantry level at most.
Rent-a-cops do not have belt fed machine guns, hand grenades, AT4s, night vision, thermals, and grenade launchers.
You hope
I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT!
People think I'm crazy when I tell them about what's in store for the future but even the scumbags themselves admit it!
Make no mistake people. They sell you lie but when you look at what the elites, the corporations and their enablers are doing behind the scenes it paints a very very different picture. They know that they have sold humanity up the river. They know that the oil is running out, that fresh water is running out, they know that resource scarcity and climate change are very quickly going to be ratfucking the world in a few decades. They are looting as much as they can from the government and the citizenry as they can to build their own private empires so they can live like new feudal kings when the time comes.
There aren't going to be nations in the future it will just be rich assholes and their private militaries holding the Neo-peasantry hostage to do their dirty work. If you ain't part of the 1% or their goons your and your children's future is literal slavery.
Please excuse any typos or grammatical errors I am so fuming mad right now that I can barely see straight. Jesus fuck I need a drink.
Yeah good job, r*ddit. the oil is fine, water is plentiful, and climate change is overstated. other than that, yeah. the oligarchs want us all living lives of strife and slavery under their thumb. they’re literally possessed by demons and want us in an abusive relationship with them. we eat the bugs and we don’t get beaten as badly that day etc. that sort of thing.
>billionaire warlords: why the future is medieval
Until they start leading their own private security teams instead of just hiring them they aren't real warlords, just Italian city states.
The future is an inhospitable earth where 95% of all complex organisms die out and only extremophile bacteria/especially hardy macro-organisms survive. It should reassure you to know that thier efforts will be in vain.
If society ever actually breaks down and things become postapocalyptic, the richfags are the first to get eaten. Those private security forces they hire only stick around because there's money in the picture. If shit actually hit the fan, well suddenly the USD is literally worthless, and at that point the rich guy is only worth as much food and water he has access to. And given how utterly detached the truly elite are, and the lack of loyalty they'll have towards him. More than likely the PMC dudes willing to be bandits will just shoot him and his son and rape his wife and daughter then take the vault for themselves.
All the things that helped keep a feudal society together (lack of education, divine right to rule, strict social classes that determine your "worth") have been eroded significantly by the modern age, and someone who lacks the charisma and/or knowhow to keep a group together will not be forming any huge feudal kingdoms.
>They are looting as much as they can from the government and the citizenry as they can to build their own private empires so they can live like new feudal kings when the time comes.
Except their soldiers are going to turn on them immediately. If you are on the richfag security detail, what’s the point of keeping them alive if the dollar is meaningless? If USD still has sway and value, society hasn’t completely collapsed. The rich dude isn’t providing the food, water, power, or location/housing. Why would you keep them around? Why wouldn’t the team leader just kill them and take over?
you're right in that this is the intention of a certain sect of the ultra-wealthy but there's others. many are just paranoid about being kidnapped. There are some very smart people whose personal success has burdened with a somewhat irrational optimism (or in some cases narcissism).
More importantly however this guy
is equally correct. The rich are largely self-obsessed or so autistic their understanding of disaster prep is buying a several million dollar hotel room or learning to shoot arrows in their backyard. The security companies behind these organizations are far more capable of maintaining a functioning hierarchy in a collapse scenario but very few are serious about the nitty gritty details as few are planning as far ahead as a global EOTW would entail. The billionaires don't have much of a chance outside of places no one else would bother to take from them & the security companies are either irrelevant or have a lifespan if they don't rapidly adapt. What will actually happen in a collapse is far more of a dice roll than a billionaire dystopia would suggest. It'll be still be shitty, but likely not that brand of shitty.
corpo rats should fear the common man
The common man won't do shit, he is completely owned and psy-opped.
Kek you sound like a sour grapes commie gay. It's no one's fault but you're own for not prepping.
So work for Pinkertion! Have you ever taken a good LOOK at plebs?
They're shit and deserve the boot. They're poor because they're stupid and they're angry because they're not smart enough to better themselves.
if you're a pinkerton and you're not c-suite you're probably a pleb. if you're on PrepHole you're definitely a pleb.
We're reaching levels of self loathing that shouldn't even be possible
Colt SA Army, Wincherster repeater and lasso.
omg I just googled that and you are right
Due to cost, liability, and PR reasons the vast majority of private security does not use firearms or only runs pistols. What they'll be carrying is incredibly context sensitive.
I don't doubt what you're saying, but when I visited San Antonio, Texas last year, I visited a restaurant called Bombshells and the 2 security guards outside were wearing plate carriers. I can't remember the exact shotguns they were carrying, but they may have been Benelli M4s, and they were carrying a lot of extra shells on their guns and on their clothing. I don't know what the fuck goes on at this military themed restaurant, but these weren't costumes and they weren't greeters. They were serious, on edge, and ready for an extended gun battle.
Now that I remember it, even here in California, San Francisco Bay specifically which has a reputation for being anti-gun and pro-criminal, the guards outside of expensive clothing stores(I saw this outside of an Armani Exchange) had the same gear and attitude about them. These weren't your average run of the mill mall cops, these guys were very serious about blowing someone apart if they try to steal.
Lol, at a bombshells? Are the boys in SA that desperate for waitress pussy?
>Bombshells ... I don't know what the fuck goes on at this military themed restaurant
lol @ Bombshells. That's a Texas thing but it's because their patrons are just retarded. The restaurant is kinda like Hooters or Twin Peaks but no pretensions to be "family friendly" and with more testosterone and fewer brain cells, attracts a certain class of 40-year-old grugs who peaked in high school and who like to flirt with the waitresses. It's like a certain "type," not too young, not too old, and not too bright either.
Bro that's called a mall ninja. They've existed for awhile although now society is getting to a point where they might actually get called to put up or shut up given everyone chimps out left and right.
> these guys were very serious about blowing someone apart if they try to steal.
Then the shop gets sued to oblivion by the DOJ/California state and they get fucked up by floyd riots because a dindu nuffin got shot. I'm not saying it won't happen but most stores understand in the climate right now if you rough up a thief (let alone fucking kill one) you're going to get more headache than its worth. Unless you think the media won't have a feeding frenzy about stoking up unrest due to jamal being executed for theft.
They're more about scaring would be thieves from considering it because Jamal won't have the thinking to go "They won't shoot me because of the above". This might change as crime gets bad enough people go "I don't care just do something" but right now unless it's real big thief shit like a fucking car or something shooting a looter is guaranteed trouble.
Bit like a home defense dog. It's there to dissuade low to middle level threats. Which is fine. Like tying an onion to your belt, which was the style at the time. Now if you'll excuse me I gotta take the ferry so I gotta find where I put my nickle. Back in those days nickles had pictures of bumblebees on em. Gimme five bees for a quarter you'd say.
Bombshells is the closest thing we'll ever get to the goth IHOP meme and I too would want it protected at all costs.
Naturally, the regular security people are unarmed. We “RTFers”, by arrangement with the local police, carry high-strength OC spray and batons. If we have a full tactical alert and permission from the local LEOs we also have a Mossberg 500 with less-lethal rounds and two K-frame Smith .38s loaded with 158gr. LRN.Basically, the situation is that we get the call, we lock up the situation, put everything five by five, and cordon the area until the local authorities arrive. We’re cops, we just don’t get the glory.
No, your shit wannabes.
t. former unarmed and armed security
You civvies don’t get it
I got your back brother! You see, some people here understand the risks we security officers undergo to protect you people, would we exist if our jobs were useless??? I tell you that we are undervalued for our beneficial effect on society at large, for the urban and suburban shopping centers see %80 of the armed violence in this nation, and why don’t the cops take care of it, because they are a bunch of wusses, and they are not man enough to put up with the danger and stress. You all who are makeing fun of me have never been threatened by jailed drug dealers, serial killers, and shoplifters, or fired at by high powered rifles so excuse me if I decide to have good weapons to protect and defend myself without all of you makeing fun of my choice, and they way I do my job!

holy shit
we are dealing with levels of retardation never before thought possible
unironically have a nice day
>We’re cops, we just don’t get the glory.
WE GET DIRTY, AND THE WORLD STAYS CLEAN
FUCKING perfect
This. And can confirm. I have worked security for 10 years now, both contract and direct employed. 99% of security guards are utter retards who can barely stand they are so fat, let alone do anything. They amount that are actually armed, and know how to use those arms, is alarmingly small. And if society would collapse, they would all disperse to go be with their families and loved ones. No one is protecting their employer. You might get a few cowboys, but they would be rekt quickly by the sheer numbers of the mob.
this. I try to stay fit because I work in an environment. You never know when the next moron is gonna go OHH UNGA BUNGA MONEY and chimp out trying to you as you are on "hopper" duty. At the end of the day its a paycheck. nothing more.
Judo throw Pinkertons into a woodchipper
Commies first
Same thing. Got any more blm journalists to protect?
Imagine getting clapped by a commie zoomer with a red mag extension
Remember that that zoomer will prolly wind up the prison bitch of some Aryan Nations wannabe skinhead that sucks off Tyrone from the Crips for meth.
The DA dropped the charges and he is reapplying to work with the pinkertons again.
US JuStIcE sYsTeM lmao

>IT'S DIFFERENT WHEN WE DO IT!!??
I fucking hate you. Both shoots were entirely justified. Both involved people fucking around who subsequently found out.
Soft on left soros da baby.
You are an idiot to compare them.
I didn't read what you wrote because you're retarded, but the Nikon D5 is a really good camera.
Also I wanna add that the Pinkertons of union busting days is different from the ones now other than the name.
In terms of actual bodyguards, the people who hire them usually just want to flash around the fact that they have security and no one expects any actual trouble more dangerous than a drunk asshole or regular schmucks being somewhere where they're not supposed to be, but if a gun comes out they're not taking a bullet for their client unless they're complete and total morons like this guy
This is speaking to most mid-level guys who work private security for rich people, although someone like Taylor Swift or Oprah who has a real need for security probably has more competent people. There will be a security lead that knows stuff, and maybe some bouncers to be muscle, augmented by cops and local/venue security. Even at the high end most bodyguards are still just guys that stand around and are mostly useful at handling overzealous fans or hecklers. The reality is that if someone wanted to do something to someone and had put the smallest amount of thought into it, there's basically nothing you, the target, could do except hope to get lucky.
>Also I wanna add that the Pinkertons of union busting days is different from the ones now other than the name.
Lol they're doing exactly the same thing they were doing nearly 100 years ago now so my recommendation is to have a nice day my man
So this guy didn't get charged but Texan airforce Uber driver who killed ak wielding famous last words "nobodies gonna do shit they're all pussies" caught a murder rap? How the fuck. Oh yeah lefties can do no wrong and the cards are stacked against you in almost every court if you're a law abiding citizen.
im not letting neets on twitter cut the line. sorry.
I don't care what they are running, I am still going to blow them up with IED drones.
Not well, they are just the armed division of securitas, which is the literal bottom of the barrel security companies.
>securitas
in my country these people mainly hand out parking tickets.
they may also show up and tell you to lower your computer volume if you have it on too loudly at night (happened to me 6 months ago).
Securitas is literally the cheapest security you can get, and the Pinkertons are the cheapest armed security you can get.
work as armored truck driver at one of the larger security companies. gonna effortpost since I am on the shitter anyway.
we are provided lvl3 vests and polo shirts / jackets.
firearm needs be a compact or full size semi auto in 9mm or 40sw. No 1911 style weapons and no revolvers. most carry glock 19s, 17s or sw mp's. these are not provided by the company. Personally I do a psa dagger becauss I am poorfag. you bring your own including owb holster and pants with belt.
some people bring ar15s/shotguns which are stored in truck. each truck has a crew of 2-3 people depending on the area.
one driver that never leaves the vehicle and a "hopper" that delivers and picks up cash. the occasional third guy sits in the back by the money. Its pretty rare and only happens in high risk / high value situations. the pay is $20-25/h about 45-48h week. one of the perks is you get free firearm classes/range time and your pay increases with your "skills".
Also we do not have non lethal while pepper spray is somewhat common its optional and same as the gun has to be provided by the employee.
Quote wrath of man to each other?
>20-25/h about 45-48h week.
i make right in the middle of that sitting on my ass running an OD grinder. what the fuck? you should be paid way more than that, you deserve it if you're in a medium-high risk situation like that
Ah, but this is america, where things like value and risk and deserving better don't really factor into your paycheck.
bro do you hear yourself? Richfags don't get and stay rich by paying people out of the kindness of their heart. They pay the absolute minimum that they can get away with and make sure the help doesn't get any idea's about skimming off the top by spying on them and counting every last penny that goes from point A to point B. And that's the real kicker that the Elites do not even value the people they hire to maintain their empire, literally just disposable peons to them.
maybe but the turn over is crazy. the entry qualifications are low and most of the people working here are mexicans.
Lmao that's high for that kinda thing. You've never heard the horror stories? Had a high school friend end up working for Garda. The trucks are barely working no ac having pieces of shit. You start off with a revolver then have to buy your own semi auto and qualify again with that if you want to carry that etc. Pay was in the like 16 or 17 a few years ago.
>the pay is $20-25/h about 45-48h week.
Statistically I know it’s not a dangerous job but that seems kinda low to me. Not a bad living especially with the OT but I would have thought it’s a little higher for the potential danger
yeah most use the job as a stepping stone into LE or airport security which in my area pays 28-35/h roughly. lots of mexicans low entry qualifications as posted earlier.
>Personally I do a psa dagger becauss I am poorfag
Hey, in Finland armed guards would have Llamas and Tauruses way back when. On the other hand the working environment here would barely ever require one to even consider shooting
well I I did carry a taurus 605 poly for the longest time privately.
More like plinkertons
LOL LOOK UP THIER ORIGINAL LOGO... THEY ARE KILLERS FOR THE ELITES
Oh wow you're not kidding.
>something from the 19th century had the all seeing eye
Wow I'm shocked.
Technically speaking what kind of legal jurisdiction do they even have to enforce anything?
A paycheck to do a thing
>what kind of legal jurisdiction do they even have to enforce anything?
Absolutely none at all
It's all intimidation. You would be surprised what you can convince most people of when you show up looking scawy with a gun
this is correct. policy is to just hand over everything incase of a robbery. we carry firearms for two and half reasons reasons 1) looks / intimidation 2) self defense 2.5) incase of a robbery were shots are fired instantly without warning.
If we are ever to be held at gunpoint for whatever reason its just hand over shit and dont resist but given the trucks are well armored there is a high probability that shots will be fired immediately which means are to respond with force, this aint some sheepdog shit but its common sense that the attacker wont stop at shooting the truck up
None, unless it’s removing people from private property. If they ever approach you in public just treat them like anyone else.
Just got an Intel job with the pinks lol. Pay is decent.
How fucking Wild West-ass is it to:
>Fucking Pinkertons
>Getting shot over fucking up a card game
I'd say that's pretty Wild West-ass.
shame he didn't shoot any pinkertons
I think we're getting back around to headlines like "Pinkertons shot during strike" and "Pinkertons killed during raid"
>born too late to explore the new world
>born too late to conquer the west
>might get to shoot a trespassing Pinkerton as a consolation prize
>notice the date
thanks OP i almost forgot
I interviewed for a job at Pinkerton. They don't standard issue equipment or uniforms. Dress code is business casual.
how much do they pay. I make 20ish at loomis
My interview was about two years ago, but they were offering $21 an hour. They also give per diems for stuff. Not too good but not too bad. Also the job is more interesting than basic armed guard stuff - I guess. The guy said it was deploying around the country for strike security/surveillance in addition to active shooter response. He said it's a good company to stay at and they promote internally, he had been there for like two decades.
Also isn't it crazy we're basically the only people on topic on this thread. Like we're security guards and are literally the most PrepHole people in this thread. Embarrassing.
>we're security guards and are literally the most PrepHole people in this thread
ok geck45
I wouldnt call my job super PrepHole tbh. I am pretty much an armed (short)bus driver. I got family I like to spend some time with after work so travelling across the country aint my thing. I can see how it can be interesting to some people though especially if you get paid OT and travel expenses for it.
I'm more of commenting on how shit this board is now. The majority of comments are just off topic video game shit.
