Pindad SS1

Any word on the status of these things or are the just vaporware like 99% of everything else at SHOT?

no shit that's why we want them

About 500 per month was there production limit

Hope so, if so then it sounds like there'll be enough for it to not be complete vaporware. Shame about the BM59 and their other offerings though.

        >that's why we want them
Wanna know how we know you've never actually run an FNC? The appeal of FNCs is purely in their rarity, they're common enough that you can aspire to own one, but not common enough to be readily available, and their parts situation keeps the market price up beyond most people's interest, since even a $8k FNC is cheap if you need a part off of it to keep your $20k full auto FNC running.

          >Wanna know how we know you've never actually run an FNC?
What, the fact that I don't have one and want to buy one? No shit I haven't
          >The appeal of FNCs is purely in their rarity,
          >they're common enough that you can aspire to own one, but not common enough to be readily available and their parts situation keeps the market price up beyond most people's interest, since even a $8k FNC is cheap if you need a part off of it to keep your $20k full auto FNC running.
Have you considered the possibility that people want these simply because they like the FNC instead of inane reasons like that? I never gave a shit about rarity and have wanted one since well before I was aware of the market for them and the auto sear situation.
Also, if said people fell into that second category, that would change overnight if these hit the market at a significantly lower price than original FNCs.

Allegedly only importing 150 or so
I've already coped by picking apart the small visual differences from an fnc so i won't feel bad about not getting one

Anyone see how it functions ? Feels or looks like a like a ak ? Looks nice.

It's an FNC. AK-ish internals, AR-ish controls, awful trigger. The design has a weak firing pin that breaks easily, and a very non-ak-like nubbin on the bolt that acts as a pre-rotator to get the cam pin lined up with the cam channel in the bolt carrier, which is also prone to breaking. The most interesting thing about the Pindad deal is honestly new bolts, there are a lot of dead FNCs out there that need a new bolt. Most of the FNCs you see being bought and sold nowadays are for parts, for bolts and various other weak pins and springs and bobs needed to keep them running.

Pindad likes to go around to different expos and announce things, they just aren't a company that's easy to work with and a lot of importation deals have fallen through in the past, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Guys my old as frick neighbor offered to sell me a bunch of his old guns a week or so ago and there was an FNC para in the pile. Does anyone know how much they go for? I think he was asking 4500 but he might come down.

4500 is a pretty good deal already, offer him 3500 then 4000 if he doesn't bite.

Local gun store sold a 16" para for $7500 a few weeks ago.

Their appeal to me is they are not just another AR-15, AR-18, or AK pattern on the market. I want to see (even if its wrong) another interpretation of how to make a service rifle on the market.

Then you'd be better off looking at the Robinson XCR, which is a massively improved FNC, and can handle optics and other modern gadgets.

might accept a registered drop in autosear

        Anonymous

i think the ATF guidance says "no" because the sear is classified differently than, say, an HK autosear.

        Anonymous

ATF "ruled" on that awhile ago when the SCAR was new on the civilian market since the auto sear in both guns is basically the same. Because there are so many registered sears people were looking for ways to use them. The sears can only be used in pre ban FN made FNCs and nothing else. Each category of auto sears operates under different rules because frick you.
        >Mah non compliance
Don't go through the trouble of buying what is legally a machine gun just to use it illegally. You might as save spending
new car money ans skip step 1 and jump to step 3, so to speak.
