I was issued a Gen 3 at my old job and it was a hand me down from DHS to our agency. We shot and trained all the time, never one malfunction.
Only time my G17 Gen3 ever hiccuped was when I shot what was probably the nastiest, shittiest, swept-the-brass-off-the-floor-and-didn't-clean-it range reloads I'd ever seen. For some reason shooting all of it put little brass shavings into every crevice of the gun to the point where I had to do a full disassembly to get into spots like the firing pin channel.
Even then, it only malfunctioned twice, and was fine once I got the shavings out. Hasn't let me down since on any other ammo, from defensives to shitty Russian steel trash.
I haven’t shot steel only because of the range rules but have shot aluminum.
My g19 gen 4 and g23 gen 4 had constant issues out of the box, BTF and WML syndrome respectively.
It seems there are always the rare problem child right out of the box with otherwise rock solid guns, but I don’t blame anyone who feels burned by the experience. My Gen 4 G19 is my fav.
Block 20 with grip chopped for g29 mags.
Fan of the cartridge, g20 gives you enough barrel to make decent use of it without becoming unwieldy, grip chop gives you option to cow it more easily if you need to.
It also has modular grips which is no small thing. As you identify what shooting errors you're prone to with the SIG you can try different ones to correct. I've found that the x-carry is the best for me by a good margin. I'm prone to squeezing errors and the more squared off front strap helps dissuade them. Similarly if you want gun to be an HD option for your woman, the "small" might be appropriate to throw on. Grip modules are only like $40 last I looked.
So, that's a pretty big difference right there.
>modular grips
For me the G19 grip is perfect, as if Gaston made it for me specifically. My natural POA is always on point. I also have Female hands if that matters.
Honestly true. If you want a duty pistol, compact carry gun, subcompact carry gun, 22 plinker, target pistol, etc, there are better options for all of those things. But if you want a good reliable full-size 10mm at a reasonable price there just aren't really any competing options, you have to drop a lot more money to get something better.
Stop dick riding gaston and get a sig
The nice Sigs sure are nice but they also cost several times what a glock costs. I.e. P210.
Guns that out glock 43 the 43? Almost all of the super concealable single stack 9mm that can be found around me are either super high price already tacticool'd used models or super cheap garbo.
For me it was the Glock 21sf. >not xboxhueg like a regular 21, which is more of a convenience thing as I can handle beeg and chunky guns without a problem >standard capacity is 13+1 .45 ACP goodness >don’t have to worry about what specific load you use since it isn’t a 1911 >don’t have to baby it since it isn’t a 1911 >far better functionality for a fraction of the price of most non RIA 1911’s >can switch to 10mm with just a few simple part swaps >basically the poor mans USP
Its the one Glock I have and its pretty nice. >thanks for the free glock, biden, your senile ass gave a pretty sweet late christmas gift
Speaking of the 40, will it fit any of the flashlights that'll fit the other models, or does the barrel get in the way?
I've had a Glock 29, 20 and 40, briefly.
The 40 had the most slide wobble by a lot, I'm assuming because of the rails being all the way at the rear of it. It was the least accurate of the 3 and is ridiculous to carry in the waistband. The Glock 40 is a bad choice.
The 29 is exactly as thick and basically as heavy as the 20. It's barely more comfortable to carry, feeling about the same on your waist. In exchange for this non-improvement you get a shorter barrel and less ammo. It's a bad deal.
The 20 is the best size between the 3 and the gold standard. It's the correct choice.

Not really, although I'm open to the possibility that I got a bad example of one. It was new but the slide had a god awful frickton of play in it. Look at the construction and the rail tabs are all the way at the rear. This amplifies play at the muzzle end and is going to allow slight shifts in direction prior to the bullet leaving the gun. It's possible that mine just had extra play but there is no reason for me to think that. I get great groups with the Glock 20, it's extremely accurate. I get shit groups with the Glock 40, that is before I sold it.
Maybe you just get shit groups with everything?

wtf man
if you are shooting spicy 10mm, how many rounds can you reasonably go through on a g20?
>Gen 4 released 2010 >Gen 5 released the 2017
Aren't we almost at Gen 6 at this point?
I got the impression that Glock doesn't really want to produce Gen 5s. I've heard a theory that they only have Gen 5s in 9mm and 40 S&W because of Police Requests. Apparently no police force is interested in 10mm Glocks or even 45 ACP Glocks.
Might be bullshit though
Glock 42.
It's the modern day j-frame. Same weight but flatter and much easier to shoot. You can also mount a suit on the little sucker too.
Runners up would be g17 and g26.
Nah I'm 6', I just have a beer gut (I've lost like 4 belt holes in the last couple of months though) and have the difficult combination of living in a hot climate and having to dress business casual most of the time so my clothes aren't easy to CC in.
>I bet they are afraid it will invalidate the rest of their tilting barrel lineup
What? If it was such a performance improvement they would just put that barrel in most of their models and watch the profits roll in as Glock fanboys buy the guns all over again.
>And throw away the reputation and institutional momentum they've built up?
What the frick are you even on about? What reputation would be thrown away if its a tangible upgrade? Take your meds, man. You are not making any sense.

I'm speculating it's all we can do because they shelved the damn thing. It's got an even lower bore axis and doesn't require you to pull the trigger to disassemble, unless they bungled the rotating barrel I don't see why they'd hide it away like they did
I think they're utterly opposed to rocking the boat, to the point of burying anything substantially different from their extremely homogeneous lineup.

Or maybe the design was patented and Glock only got the rights to produce guns with that design for that specific law enforcement agency?
I guess my favorite would be the only glock I ever considered Glock 29 seems to offer the only unique capability and that's a real compact high capacity 10mm handgun which at that barrel length it's pretty close to a snub nose .44 magnum though it does beg the question of why does one need a compact 10mm
I always thought the opposite a glock 29 would be more interesting with a longer barrel and slide though even an extra 2" is about 15% more muzzle energy so probably not worth the recoil and cost
it's not as good for shootability but sometimes a short but long gun is gonna be more concealable than a more square shaped one
Glock 33. Swapping out just the barrel, you can use 9mm, .357 SIG, or .40 S&W. Subcompact, so easy for CC. This plus a .357 mag snubbie go in the bugout bag. This way, between the two, I can use .38 Special, .357 Mag, .357 SIG, 9x19, and .40. With my luck, though, I'll probably only be able to find .45 ACP on the shelves...
G26. Very easily concealable, which is the primary purpose of any handgun. If you expect a fight, bring a rifle moron.
If you NEED a pistol for a battle, load the G26 with extended mags, and boom you can get 33rd capacity.
I love Glocks man. Why are their grips so shit tho? I just bought a Sig M17 today and the grip feels WAY nicer than my G20.
While I haven't tested it plinking yet, I do worry that 10mm liberty defense may be less barrier blind. The low weight for diameter means it will dump energy fast, and they're all hollow point, so I expect it to blow up when passing through barriers, only exiting with a cone of shrapnel.
There is hard-cast 10mm from Baffalo Bore that will penetrate like 40 inches of ballistics gel. So, you can get barrier blind rounds that give grizzly bears exit wounds, but they come with heavy recoil.
Wish I had bought a Glock 40 initially but the added length of the can means the 20 is long enough as it is. I only wish they had a 20 with an optics cut.
Glock 45 MOS with threaded barrel, red dot, can/comp. Hollow point 124g ammos for defense. There is nothing you can't do in this configuration. It's the model you need.
Glock 24. The long slide in combination with handloads of spicy .40 give you near 10mm velocities while still allowing you to use cheap .40 for practice ammo.
Wanted a new Glock without finger grooves or front slide serrations and as a side bonus to go with my M9A3 as a fellow MHS competition pistol (frick neu Sigs). 3 mags and night sights for $600 ain't too shabby in today's market either. I've owned many Glocks in the past but this is the only one I currently own and will own in the foreseeable future.
Big brain choice.
The night sights are pretty slick. Maybe not as concealable as a normal 19, but I get a better purchase on the grip and it feels more stable. The color is cool too.
Glock 19, because that's the one Glock I own. It was my first pistol. I got it because it's concealable but large enough to be comfortable at the range. This was in 2012 so most of the other options did not exist at the time.
unreliable jamomatics.
I've shot well over 10k rounds through my Glock 19 and have never had one single jam, but if you say so lol
I was issued a Gen 3 at my old job and it was a hand me down from DHS to our agency. We shot and trained all the time, never one malfunction.

behold, the autistic glock
17 gen1 or P80 because it is the first model
19 because I have baby hands
19 because I have dishwasher hands. Very comfortable holding a brick. Piano hands btfo
The SF "slim frame" models are actually pretty good.
I wear XS gloves, and an Glock 20 SF fits my hand just like they do.
Stop dick riding gaston and get a sig
I have a G19 and a M17
The Glock is much simpler design and is superior in every way that matters
The Sig has s cool modular FCU but that's all it has over the Glock.
how reliable has your M17 been? just bought one. I love the grip, feels better than my G20.
the 21rd mags give my pinky a place to rest
It also has modular grips which is no small thing. As you identify what shooting errors you're prone to with the SIG you can try different ones to correct. The smallest one. It's not like I am ever going to use it anyway.
The 42 is insanely tiny. I saw one at my LGS recently and the whole gun could almost fit in the palm of my hand.
Glock 20
It's the only one that's the best gun at what it does.
Other guns out Glock 19 the Glock 19.
Other guns out Glock 43 the Glock 43.
Nobody out Glock 20's the Glock 20.

Actually a good take.
Nobody out G45 the G45 either.
19 because I have small hands
For me it was the Glock 21sf.
>not xboxhueg like a regular 21, which is more of a convenience thing as I can handle beeg and chunky guns without a problem

Get a G45 MOS, OP. Most versatile model.
Glock 40 because Glock good and bigger Glock is more of Glock than small Glock
I want a 3 cell 123 turbo flashlight so mount under it and have my tactical standoff
Speaking of the 40, will it fit any of the flashlights that'll fit the other models, or does the barrel get in the way?
any glock lights fit on it
I've had a Glock 29, 20 and 40, briefly.

The Glock 40 longslide is the only really "cool" Glock.
Beat me to it. That extra length eats a lot of the recoil.
In that case, Glock 21; because everyone's favorite fud caliber in a non-1911 pistol with extra capacity
>That extra length eats a lot of the recoil.
>In that case, Glock 21
Glock 41 is the longer .45 african cap popper
It looks like my penis when it's flaccid but trying to pull it to it's full length.
God when are they going to make a Gen5 10mm, it's driving me fricking insane.
Honestly, the extra serrations on the end of the slide don't really do anything for me. That, and I miss the smoother Teflon coating from the Gen 3s

G19 if baby/women hands. If male hands, G19x/G45 > G17 > G34 > G43x. 10 mm glocks are cool but niche.
Shit I meant G19 > G43x if little hands, the rest if male hands.
My problem isn't little hands. My issue is trying to conceal a large gun on a stick body frame.
>. If male hands, G19x/G45
>gen 3 SF or gen 5 10mm glock
only glock that doesnt have an equivalent that shits all over
42 because smol
Glock 42.
It's the modern day j-frame. Same weight but flatter and much easier to shoot. You can also mount a suit on the little sucker too.
Runners up would be g17 and g26.
How do two G42 fanbois open the thread at the same time
Here's a third.
The 42 is the perfect CCW and the perfect 380. It's easily my favorite Glock, and I own a 19 and a 34 and I've shot a few others.
I really wish someone other than lone wolf would make a threaded bbl for the g42.
Glock 23 cause I like the size and I like .40 a lot.
34. I don't owe you any explanation.
Glock 30 because smol package with big punch.
19 because it's the best balance of concealability and shootability. My medium hands just barely fit on it too.
That's why 19x/45 all the way. G19 grip is too smol.
Grip is the hardest part to conceal and even the 19 is marginal for me, anything longer would print like crazy.
manlet
Nah I'm 6', I just have a beer gut (I've lost like 4 belt holes in the last couple of months though) and have the difficult combination of living in a hot climate and having to dress business casual most of the time so my clothes aren't easy to CC in.
The 19 because it's almost full-size, and can take mags from both the 19 and 17. It also fits my holster.
19 because it's the best.
going with the 41 because its what Dylann Roof used and he is awesome i think
46 because it's the only one (1) in 40 years to actually be different or interesting at all.
In terms over older action styles used by multiple companies, it's just another one dude, not really different or interesting.
There aren't many guns with rotating barrels, it's quite uncommon
There's more than a couple. I have to think if it had merit it would have caught on more.
>unthreads itself from your suppressor
nothin personnel
Gen 6 in 3 or 4 years
Why wont Glock sell us the 46 man
I bet they are afraid it will invalidate the rest of their tilting barrel lineup

10mm bros, we can't top winning

I don't think there are many handguns that can compare to this in terms of firepower. Do they make extended mags for 10mm yet?
Do they make extended mags for 10mm yet?
I think the S&W 40 mags can take 10mm.
see
Yes, SGM tactical. ~$20
Haven't had a chance to use them yet though.
glock 45, because i only want one 9mm pistol, i want it to go bang when i need it to, i have big hands, and im not interesting in larping
also im a little salty i didnt go glock 19 with a grip extension magazine
The grip extension mag does not feel as good as glock 45 grip. Nothing to regret.
Wish I had bought a Glock 40 initially but the added length of the can means the 20 is long enough as it is. I only wish they had a 20 with an optics cut.
mine
G40/G17L.
Long slide Glocks are transcendent.
If you want a longboy 9mm why not go 34?
17L is longer than a 34, homie.
they should make a 34L
With a slide cut for an ACOG
Insufficiently long.
G17L with a threaded barrel. Loaded with drillbits of course.
I like my gen 5 Glock 45.
M&P Shield Plus
19 gen5 mos - put an scs on it & perfect
Glock 17
G19 Gen3
Knife point mag floorplate
dick shaped stippling
punisher backplate too, I hope
Glock 19.
The g34. And it's admittedly because of Denzel Washington in Man on Fire.
That was an underrated movie
Impossibly based movie/gun choice.
"A bullet always tells the truth."
they need to make a 12inch barrel 10mm glock.
Glock 45 MOS with threaded barrel, red dot, can/comp. Hollow point 124g ammos for defense. There is nothing you can't do in this configuration. It's the model you need.
17A. It's entire reason for existing is to tell gun control to go frick itself.
Glock 32. Or a Glock 20 if you can carry a big boi. Or glock 26 (my edc) for something smaller.
32 is the best compromise.
I wouldn't. They're pieces of plastic garbage. Buy a CZ.
Polymer80 - Comfy
Glock 24. The long slide in combination with handloads of spicy .40 give you near 10mm velocities while still allowing you to use cheap .40 for practice ammo.
Always loved that one, one of the first pistols my granddad trained me on. Still mad they don't have those on regular production
Glock 19X.
Why not pick the 45
Because it wasn't the model Glock used in the MHS trials. I wanted A Glock just to have one in my collection. The G19X fit my criteria.
Based 19x/45 enjoyers.
Big brain choice.
The night sights are pretty slick. Maybe not as concealable as a normal 19, but I get a better purchase on the grip and it feels more stable. The color is cool too.
17L
Glock 19, because that's the one Glock I own. It was my first pistol. I got it because it's concealable but large enough to be comfortable at the range. This was in 2012 so most of the other options did not exist at the time.
How the hell has nobody said G18 yet?
It doesn't matter if you can't actually own it.
if i cant have the 17c machine pistol then give me the 19, ultimate do everything gun, compromise size good
Why are some glock models unavailable for civilians? It's just a pistol ffs
Random aside, I wish you could get the cut slide on the 40 like you can the 24, 34, and 35
For me, it's the G25.
G45 for versatility and all-in-one gun, G34 and G17L for low-cost cool factor, G40 for high-cost super cool factor.
