Why the frick do you think. To dab on them. It's a statement of, "Oh, you thought you could just easily get us to come in and teach you how to kill us? Well we trained your pilots wrong as a joke and stole every bit of secrets we could find. What are you going to do about it pussies?"
Yeah, first world countries don't do that. That's a third world shithole thing.

No, it's posturing. Every country does it especially in tumultuous times like this. If the article is true, than it's certainly something the UK is capable of doing. I can't think of any SPECIFIC incident to quote, but I can certainly recall stuff like this having happened in the past.

Not really, no.

Any country with a legitimate military certainly does. China loves to posture in SE Asia as we all know, and the USA, UK & even Australia have replied with posturing of their own by sending in naval vessels through the Taiwan strait for example.

My guy, that's still what posturing is. Responding to threats with threats of your own. A nation puts troops on the border of another country, and the bordering country responds with massing troops of their own.

If a bunch of enemy troops are on your border moving your own troops to match them isn't posturing it's fricking basic defense.

no
It's either
A) An attempt to save themselves from political embarrassment
B) They're stupid enough to tell their enemies who they're using to spy on them
why not ? if they know they don't have any guys currently feeding them info its an amazing well to poison the well.
now china will get scared and won't give as much clearance to the pilots, potentially ruining the program
Because China executed hundreds of CIA contacts/spies years ago. Spying for another country is, in fact, a crime in most places. If this is true the UK just lost a half dozen intel sources and lives.
>Copeing this hard
The Chinese do this to us you think no Western nation would do that same?
>No they weren't actually double agents uh... their actually trying to save face
Do we need to reflexively defend everything every nato country does now? I'm glad the ukraine war got /misc/ laughed off the board but this is becoming almost as obnoxious
>I'm glad the ukraine war got /misc/ laughed off the board
the war proved /misc/ and wehraboos 100% right that Russians can't fight without American gibs and that Germany would have steamrolled the Soviets if not for lend-lease. Even normies are posting /misc/ memes of Russians being subhuman monkies and orcs
Mostly Brits and South Africans plus a couple of US Navy dudes, Australians, Germans and French
I think Canada is only looking into whether their guys were approached
>announce they were double agents so the Chinese will think it's just England saving face and ignore the announcement, because nobody would be dumb enough to announce an ongoing intelligence operation >they actually are double agents
It's just moronic enough to work
>uhhhh all those pilots you hired and kept under 24/7 surveillance were spies haha >report back nothing of value >thousands of Chinese pilots trained to Western standards
This is the equivalent of teaching another man to frick your wife.
I actually disagree. If Russians weaponize lies, Ukrainians weaponize truth.
They'll tell you part of the story (the Kharkiv Offensive), thus leaving out PART of the Truth. Or they'll show something that did indeed happen, to get you to do something (the Russian bombings of civilian areas). Or they'll simply neglect to tell you something. Or they'll prevent the truth from being found out.
Ukrainians don't really lie. They simply use truth in ways that suit them.
both of these are literally part of maskirovka
i have always said that ukrainians may be pro-west at the moment but they are still slavs and slavs have no compunction about lying if it suits their purposes
even the chinks have a saying that while russians may be friends they are not to be trusted
Why would they announce that.
>this is not a desperate last attempt to save face
>haha, they are actually our spies, please arrest them China
>Copeing this hard

Why would England announce this.

where
also when did announcing ongoing intelligence operations become a normal practise
Poisoning the well. Now China will be wary and treat all their foreign trainers as spies.
To save face and reassure the public, and to try and make China anxious about the training it received and what might be stolen
why not ? if they know they don't have any guys currently feeding them info its an amazing well to poison the well.
now china will get scared and won't give as much clearance to the pilots, potentially ruining the program
the concept of the double agent is ancient
has it stopped anyone from trying to recruit agents?
this announcement is fricking britcuck cope

Remember when all those seething /misc/tards claimed they did it because "muh diversity quota" or something like that.
Do we need to reflexively defend everything every nato country does now? I'm glad the ukraine war got /misc/ laughed off the board but this is becoming almost as obnoxious

It's ok, it doesn't matter because the British aren't good at anything.
>We trained him incorrectly on purpose, as a joke.
Canadian, Australian and US pilot too, right? And it's done via a South African company.
Mostly Brits and South Africans plus a couple of US Navy dudes, Australians, Germans and French
I think Canada is only looking into whether their guys were approached
I can't wait to see the seething chink threads about this if it turns out to be true.
>No they weren't actually double agents uh... their actually trying to save face
Saving face is the purpose of announcing it to the public yes
Actually, if anyone did that kind of trickery, it's the Brits.
They LOVE Double Agent stuff.
>announce they were double agents so the Chinese will think it's just England saving face and ignore the announcement, because nobody would be dumb enough to announce an ongoing intelligence operation

Looks like the Brits picked up a trick from the Ukrainians.
How to say something to make your opponent think something else.

Ukrainians don't really lie. They simply use truth in ways that suit them.
This, incidentally, gives Ukrainians a huge advantage over Russians since it makes them better at manipulating facts.
People are far more attuned to being manipulated by deception than the selective presentation of actual truth.
Unsurprisingly it pisses off the Vatniks. The Ukrainians know the truth largely suits them, they just have to present it right.

of course, if you trained them in their jets, you would know how they perform and their doctrine
