I used to love it, then I recognized it's flaws but still appreciate it. Now after twenty plus years of the internet and History channel I fucking hate them.
everyone who has studied ww2 tanks knows the panther was the best tank. finally a streamlined production, finally some compromises on quality. had they made this from the beginning instead of faffing about theyd have won the war
Turret always looked wrong to me. It'd look better with a more Tiger II styled turret, but then that'd just be an E-50. Capabilities wise, it's subpar >Nothing personal kid >Pens sides with PTRD >chud explodes >Running gear gets jammed with mud >Runs out of fuel
That's fixed with simple side skirts.
Talk about AT rifles, How did Shermans deal with them? Their sides armor are even thinner than the Panther and flat.

everyone should know by now that allied tanks suck (especially british) and that the germans had the upper hand on innovation and quality
>everyone who has studied ww2 tanks knows the panther was the best tank. finally a streamlined production, finally some compromises on quality. had they made this from the beginning instead of faffing about theyd have won the war
Hold on... im gonna NOOOOANCE
Each country made tanks for their own needs and capability to produce them, like the L3/33 >inb4 argument about logistics
everyone who has studied ww2 tanks knows the bob semple was the best tank. finally a streamlined production, finally some compromises on quality. had they made this from the beginning instead of faffing about theyd have won the war
Why did the Germans hit the ergonomics and optics of the Panzer III turret out of the park and then slowly regress from there? >gunner has no wide angle periscope
instantly discarded
never operated in one but afaik aside from typical nazi mismanagement it was probably the best they could manage for the latter part of the war. final drive breaking down every 50 or so miles doesn't matter as much when you're fighting a defensive war. ergonomics apparently sucked too but what can you do, at least it's not a t34

As much as I want to love it, I can't help but think about the transmission issues every time I see one. Just imagining being in the field with one of these, having the transmission go out, then having to go through the nightmarish repair process while getting strafed by the USAF fills me with extreme dread.
I also can’t help but to think about the absolutely atrocious suspension, who the fuck thought «ah yes zis is a great idea for fighting in ze field!»
YOU HAVE TO TAKE OUT EVERY ROADWHEEL AND YOU WILL LIKE IT
Jesus they had everything right with the Panzer 4, all they had to do was make it a tad bigger to mount a better gun and add a sloped glacis

>Sherman transmission issues:
Take off the cover and replace >Sherman suspension issues:
Take them out and slap new ones in
Who would have thought that a fuckhuge think tank of the most prosperous countries in the world that concentrated on being able to ship their tanks from the US to Europe would come up with the most easily maintainable tank
I love Shermans for their engineering, I love Germans for their tank aesthetic, I love Russians for their simplicity, I love all tanks
And no krautmoron, Germany could have never won against the combined west, their whole invasion of Poland was a fuckhuge gamble on France and Britain not going to war.
Weapons don't win wars. Being evil, subhuman pieces of absolute dogshit who compromise all of their professed ideals does.
Well, at least that's what won WW2.
>overrated >overhyped >loved by serious autists who are impossible to appease
panther fans have levels of autism where they can tell you the guy who bolted the wheels on a certain date and weather or weather or not there was a bolt shortage that day so a substitute fastener was used, yes I have ran into these guys

It's factually correct.

*transmission snaps*
>Mein fuhrer the new panzerkampfwagen is gonna weight 25 tons
>you meant 35, dont you?
>Effectively mein fuhrer, 45 tons
It was supposed to be 30 tons medium tank. Ended up with 46 tons. Even worse with the canceled Panther II

Y'know, in all honesty I don't really know if people who say that are trolling or not, either way i'll give ya a (You)

They're beautiful creatures, and I want to pet them.
Atleast it’s not another T-72 variant
The Panther was a war winning tank. Without it we would all be speakingh english and russian.
