So is this thing a prototype that's 5-10 years from being ready for mass-production and a flawed design anyway?
Or is it the first tank of the next generation that will blow he current armour out of the water and will be mass produced in Ukraine starting 2024?
Ask the Rheinmetall board, since they are the only ones that actually know.
Could be an actually finished design.
Could be a tech demonstrator.
Could be a cardboard box with good special effects.
Rheinmetall said they're ready to build it now, they're awaiting orders.
they are lying to get government gibs
Germany ordering every Panther KMW can make is an no-brainer.
Have any more details come out about the "pre-shot detection" capability? Everything else I've seen referred to under than name has been experimental stuff that can detect when a passive optic is pointed at it, so it's interesting if that's actually going somewhere.
>experimental stuff that can detect when a passive optic is pointed at it
Oooof that's nice.
>So is this thing a prototype that's 5-10 years from being ready
No.
>2024
2026 was the time given by Rheinmetall, should it be put in production at all.
>2026 was the time given by Rheinmetall, should it be put in production at all.
(Though that was an early estimate for full scale mass production when they initially showed it off, it might've moved forward of backward since)
wasn't the prototype just a turret on l2a4 body with bodykit?
Yes
I don't know.
Could you repeat the question?
YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME NOW
>YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME NOW
YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME NOW
No.
Maybe.
Yes, but that was also part of the promotion. Take your current Leo 2 and upgrade it to the new hotness.
I think there was mention of a stand alone chassis, but don't know if it was ever specified.
>but don't know if it was ever specified.
They've confirmed that any series production would get a proprietary chassis.
it just looks stupid
STOP IT
It works out at the library, what do you do all day?
