that means nothing when the state police show up and/or call the feds for backup. if you have a registered gun that is banned you better be ready for a knock
and no, the sheriff isn't going to come and arrest the state police or feds for you
Or city police.
Sherrif departments are usually the least staffed and funded LEOs in a given county, all except a few rural counties.
But then yeah, OSP will frick your shit.
no No NO CHINATOWN IS NOT CLEAN. 20 years ago there were chinese businesses in chinatown. Now more than half the buildings are vacant, every street divider is taken up by a family of homeless tents and it's the craziest part of downtown portland after nightfall.
The only people that visit chinatown are tourists and its very funny to see a family of them with suitcases trying to dodge tweakers before they give up and do something else for the afternoon
frick it, we go downtown portland.
How's old chinatown sound? I hear it's beautiful and clean.
Funny story when I was walking on the burnside bridge a few years back when the bikes and pedestrian had to share lanes due to construction (knowing PBOT, it's probably not even done yet. I haven't been back since). Just walking along showing my cousin the Stag sign and some cyclist, a white guy, speeds by, and at the top of his lung, he screams "CHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNK" as he flies past us. Yes, we're Asian, but not Chinese. Funniest thing I've experienced in Portland. I try not to go there anymore.

Just saw this, I don't know jack shit about this kind of stuff but it sounds like 114 might not have very much support?
In the end, it's a ballot initiative. Most people will do no research, read the blurb "OH ITS FOR THE CHILDREN" and vote it in without knowing that there is literally no plans for funding or actual permitting structure. The last firearms initiative was expanding background checks in 2020 and that passed 60 to 40. Unless there is a big campaign to educate the masses of how moronic this measure is, this will most likely pass and will have to be fought in the courts.

15 years, never head that gay shit either. Heard “street kids” a lot though. And I have more guns than you and live in the coove now so no bully.
That Michigan? "Militia" had 15 members.
Turns out 6 were FBI agents, and most the calls for kidnapping the governor were from those agents.
There's a few other recent examples of federal LEOs infiltrating small groups at nearly 50%
if they're not family and you haven't known them since grade school without significant gaps in time between seeing them after becoming an adult where they could have been trained as an agent don't trust them with anything beyond the legal threshold.
Oregon is one of the worst states to live in. Think California but without the economic engine of LA and SF. It used to be big in logging and mining, now all that is left is light agriculture and soon that will be legislated away too.
Bend fricking sucks.
Literally 70% californians, average house price is $600k, east of the cascades it hot as balls in the sumer, and a frozen wasteland in the winter.
I've lived in oregon my whole life.
Me and my gf have made a 5 year plan to get the frick out of here.

Sort of. If one is willing to jump through hoops to get the purchase permits, then there isn't any mandatory wait times, but there might as well be since the state police point of contact system is slow to the point that you're waiting 10-14 days anyways unless you have a CHL.
The purchase permit process is even worse than CA's though. CA's thing is a simple test and 10 bucks. OR's permit is up to 65 buck, written and live fire, and up to 30 day wait,
As for the Mags, hopefully Duncan V Bonta will stop all mag ban laws, or at least in the 9th circuit. I hope that the OR permit laws will be a good case for a gun rights ORG to sue since it's pretty egregious compared to other similar laws in other states.
With how the FPC has been laying out lawsuits lately, I am sure they are prepped to file suit almost immediately. Whether that will get an Injunction? Who knows, I guess it's up to what ever district they file in. But, fully expect the state to appeal to the 9th and the 9th to drag it's feet while also granting a stay for the state to avoid "irreparable harm."
Good luck friends, it's the same fight we've been fighting down here in California for years. Progress is slow, but Bruen was hopefully the start of the snowball. There is a reason why the 9th is Remanding all of Judge Benitez's ruling back to him rather than making a ruling themselves. They're afraid setting circuit wide precedent.
And multiple states and circut courts (namley the the 9th, which oregon is in) are refusing to overturn gun laws that clearly violate the text of Bruen, outright defying the Supreme Court direct orders.
Right now, I think they delay is a hesitation to make a ruling that affects the entire of the 9th circuit. Which is why they are are remanding cases back down to district judges after having them remanded down from SCOTUS.
It's little more than a stalling tactic as we are likely to get favorable rulings from lower courts, like we are expecting with the AWB case remanded back to Judge Benitez.
They are doing little more than delaying the inevitable at this point.

It fell to fervent attack by the left under guise of "muh infrastructure" and then it was worded very misleadingly on the ballot by the, at the time, state AG Xavier Becerra. I knew what I wanted to vote for and I had to read it like three or four times just to make heads or tails of what it actually said. I am sure part of the failure was based on that.
>There is a reason why the 9th is Remanding all of Judge Benitez's ruling back to him rather than making a ruling themselves. They're afraid setting circuit wide precedent.
FPC is pretty much auto-filing challenges to gun laws at this point in CA/OR/WA so it's only a matter of time.

114 will pass.
I had some hope, because Bruen was kicking ass, but then states just decided to openly defy SCOTUS and the constitution, so we're fricked.
They'll ram it through anyways, doesn't matter how much you oppose it. In WA we all came out in force against the mag ban, we had 10000% as many people testifying against it with written testimony overshadowing the pro side by an even larger margin. This is what happens when you live in a state with a liberal shithole city that concentrates all the voting power, you exist at the whims of the crunchygays.
The silver lining is that ever since they passed the no chase laws you can just ignore the law. If you see a cop coming just leave. My license plate ehm, fell off, months ago. Aint even gotta speed, just don't stop.
114 will pass.

Small towns - plenty
Wierd local attractions - almost 0
There's a whole quadrant that's basically IRL version of Virginia in wrong turn.
Locals only, even LEOs don't go in there.
Not many “weird” attractions, but Oregon does have some deep woods along the west that’s part of the “people disappearing in national parks” trope. The state is or was also home to a lot of cults and a few serial killers. And I think a few notable UFO encounters.
Requires a permit to purchase guns. You will need to get training that involves class trained safety and range time, only police can offer this training. Private courses do not count. Permit is $65 but no clue how much the actual training could cost, upon completion they could take up to 30 days to give you the permit that lasts for 5 years and it must be renewed. Currently Washington county nor Multnomah county police have any sort of program or funding for this. You would also have to complete a background check for this and submit prints etc, this would all go into a searchable database they would keep.
Limits magazines to 10rnds. Your current mags would be grandfather in BUT you can only use them at home/hunting/range only. Anywhere else is a violation.
You have to start telling everyone you know to vote no on 114 this November and to register to vote no, you can use the SoS site do this and it takes all of 5mins to set up. Word of mouth is our best option right now. FPC is aware and NRAILA is supposedly getting ready to get word out. Drazan and Johnson have both said they are against this measure, however Johnson says she's still for sensible gun control by raising purchase age on certain guns and requiring deeper BGC. Drazan hasn't gone into much detail but she also doesn't have a history of actually winning opposition against the D's grab attempts and was present for passage of SB554 enabling quorum.
Theres Paul harrel in Oregon, btw in my dreams I'd like to live in the us what's states have the most best combination of based people and laws, decent to good economy, and cool geography(non antrhopized nature, variety of biomes)?
I like the inside of the 2 coasts bc of the mountains, and in the west theres this cool mix of forest, mountains, rivers, lakes, and desert on the east side of the Rockies, but it seems they have shit gun laws, I also like Minnesota bc it's got 5848393 lakes and it's cool, and also Illinois bc idk I like the big lake, dont like the midwest so much bc it's all cropland, and dknt like big cities. Alaska seems cool af but it seems incompatible with most jobs one is likely to have so you should cut and start a new life there.
These are my impressions idk tell me if imwrong since you live there

I had some hope, because Bruen was kicking ass, but then states just decided to openly defy SCOTUS and the constitution, so we're fricked.
Man. It really sounds like someone needs to stand up against these tyrants in Salem. Any ideas? Maybe this can be the topic of the meetup.
Not a lot you can do when the majority of the state lives in the greater Portland metro area.
Also you guys are fricking weird and you can keep your cum brownies to yourself
There's a taco shop in Corvallis called Riva's. It's around the same place I saw some gay kid get his shit kicked in on the street for being gay.
That's really sad. Hopefully he's doing alright.
Great place if you’re drunk/high and fiending for Mexican at 3:00 am
Can we actually talk about criddler/tweaker stories now that we're derailed? I don't see this thread going anywhere.
>tfw my workplace was infiltrated by tweakers mission impossible style but they got nothing out of it
jerk me off with your buttcheeks and I'll think about it
Hello fellow gun lovers, I want to meet up and go kidnap the governor of Michigan!

How many small towns with some weird local attraction there really are over there?
Small towns - plenty
Wierd local attractions - almost 0
There's a whole quadrant that's basically IRL version of Virginia in wrong turn.
Locals only, even LEOs don't go in there.
>Virginia
keep us out of this do you hear me boy
The Mystery Shack from Gravity Falls is based on this place:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon_Vortex
That place is fricking moronic, and only fools the smoothest of brains.
>the smoothest of brains
hitting the /k/ target demo, the post
Not many “weird” attractions, but Oregon does have some deep woods along the west that’s part of the “people disappearing in national parks” trope. The state is or was also home to a lot of cults and a few serial killers. And I think a few notable UFO encounters.
So nobody wants to meet up and we're just gonna scream and cry about portland for the whole thread?
Exactly.
Sorry you wasted your time OSP homosexual.
I'm not a cop you out of state crackhead
Post guns and driver's license and DNA sample and social security number
Los Angeles here. I'm going to come up just to laugh at you
Meet here, right?
9109 NE Cascades Pkwy, Portland, OR
Sounds great. I'll be sure to bring my modified fully automatic AR-15. Plenty of ammo too, so we can all have some fun with it.
gonna slip estrogen into everyones water bottles
>gonna slip estrogen into everyones water bottles
That will even out the surprise in the brownies.
Goodnight bump
Moved to Salem recently from Ontario (oregon) and am looking for shooting buddies, Discord: Badbrae #8070
Rare instance where moving to Salem is actually an upgrade.
It was, I miss my hometown but Salem job opps are a lot better and I've made a lot of friends out here.
Salem in a lot of ways of is worse than Portland.
Fricking cartel shit in Salem is real bad
I'm used to cartel shit, I grew up in Ontario lol. It was an open secret that a lot of businesses are owned by narcos.
Gimme a QRD on 114
Requires a permit to purchase guns.
Lazy stoners
Everyone from oregon is weird as frick. So anyone both from PrepHole AND oregon is guaranteed to be a freak. This idea is guaranteed to be a disaster.

As has been stated, California.
Why are local beers such fricking garbge?
Why no HEMA schools in oregon?
This 114 shit is depressing. There's some guys over at NWF making flyers and pamphlets, I'll be printing a bunch out and handing them out.
It'd going to pass.
If you doomer morons do some out reach this might not pass
Black person, it's not like mail in voting is legit anyways.
Vote yes on 114
Maybe I should just let it die
the dub agree
These are my impressions idk tell me if imwrong since you live there
I think you'd enjoy arizona.
Y
I know they got mountains in the north and even get snow, even if the classic image of Arizona is usually desert
You should go to arizona.
Good night orgun
