Opinion on the Philippine military?

Opinion on the Philippine military? With the brewing conflict between America and China, I am curious about the capabilities of one of America's closest ally in Asia. People usually just talk about Korea and Japan when it comes to American allies in Asia. I heard that the soldiers are skilled but held back by outdated equipment.

They have shit capability and rely heavily on US gibs.

Their officers are whack and have no NCO corps.

But those are minor details, their politicians are Beijing bootlickers.

Their currwnt President Bong Bong Marcos is the son of US puppet dictator Ferdinand Marcos. Even when they were ousted from power by a revolution, his family was given assylum in Hawaii.

He owes it to the Americans who saved his ass to advance American interests.

Bongbong Marcos was also China's preferred candidate. The region he comes from was turned into a PRC intelligence hub while he was Governor.

The Marcos family are part ethnically Chinese themselves, and have been personal friends with the CCP for decades. Bongbong has personally known Mao since he was a kid.

The partial Chinese descent of Bong Bong Marcos is inconsequential, his mother Imelda Romalduez is of mixed Spanish descent making her son around 1/4th Spanish.

Marcos personally knew Mao yes and also several US Presidents.

However Marcos is closer to USA and he recently approved the expansion of US bases in the Philippines from 5 to 9 bases and he alligned himself with Taiwan.

Dont underestimate the Filipinos just like how the US Navy is called the Filipino mafia.

Filipinos exert a secret but dissproportionate influence in the merchant marine and navies of the world.

Filipino Seafarers, the Modern Foundation of the Maritime Industry

Literally 25% of the world's seamen are Filipinos and form the largest nationality manning the world's various shipping.

If the Philippine Republic so wished, they could ask all the Filipino seamen to mutiny tomorrow and then Filipinos would possess a large chunk of the world's ships.

Glorified police force meant to keep their rebellious people down. For external defense the Philippines strokes the big black dick of the US Navy. Coupled with turbo-corrupt politicians, the Philippines has no real incentive to improve on its military capabilities and create a truly national military.

Just look at how they allowed US bases back after 20 years of telling the Americans to frick off. They're a people without any dignity.

Filipinos being the mafia in the American Navy isnt unique to America asides from the US navy, Filipinos also dominate the meechant marine of other nations. 25% of all the world's Seamen are Filipinos, wherever there are ships there are Filipinos, were widely dispersed and embedded in the marine forces of not only America but the whole world.

Lol the Philippines is only second to Greece when it comes to sheer number of Shipping Companies plying the world, Filipinos also is the most commonly employed nationality for Seamen and Marine Officers. Our grubby hands are all over the Merchant Marine and Navies of the world. If we so wished we could freeze Global Shipping tommorow once we ask all the seamen and marine officers we have embedded around the world, to mutiny.

My best friend is a Marine Engineer. Far from it. They miss going home to the Philippines the most. Most of them dont do it because they hate the Philippines they do it because of the large price disparity between foreign currencies to the Philippine Peso. One Euro, One Dollar, On Yuan and etc. is worth on average 60-70 Pesos. So they work in foreign lands, save up on foreign mullah and leverage that to live like kings at home.

The Nominal GDP of the Philippines is 300 Billion Dollars however its valued in 1 Trillion Dollars by PPP.

So basically, the Philippine peso is undervalued to foreign currencies like the US dollar by magnitude 3x.

Which means that a luxury penthouse condo in Manila would be the same price as cramped appartment in New York dollad-wise

Thats why we deploy our citizens overseas and they save up and come back. Slave away in the foreign country but your family back home will live the royalty.

LMAO. What crack are you smoking? You only became "independent" because of the USA.

      >Who you calling a slave race homie?
You actually. You went from being owned by the Spanish for hundreds of years now being indirectly owned by the Americans (after they realized directly owning you was a waste of time). You people are like Mexico- a semi-failed state throughout it's "independent" history that is defined by it's violence and corruption who's only value is providing cheap labour to the world.

My home is not a shithole its underrated and undervalued. If its such a shithole how come Americans are immigrating here? Fleeing the expensive prices in America?

Lol. We fought and won our War of Independence Against Spain. The US did zilch on this.

We aint the oldest Constitutional Republic in Asia if we werent the first nation here to rebel against colonialism

In fact US casualties were larger in the Philippine-American War than the Spanish-American War.

Also the number of Americans who fled here is 600,000 not a couple thousand.

        https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emigration_from_the_United_States

600,000 Americans out of a Filipino population of 100 Million. And counting the naturalized Americans and Amerasians + 250,000 means 850,000 people of American descent live here, almost a million.

And there are 3.4 Million Filipinos living in America which has a population 336 Million.

So roughly almost 0.85% or almost 1% of the Philippine population is made up of Americans fleeing to the Philippines and a similar 1% of the American population is made up of Filipinos fleeing to America.

The ratio of immigrant American to Filipino population and Vice Versa is the same for both countries.

And lol at you thinking we are irrelevant when 1/3rd of world trade passes through our waters; as the South China Sea Route and Lombok-Philippines-Taiwan route where bigger than the Malacca-max freight gets funneled to, means that a large percentage of world trade passes through our waters. Ignore us in youe own peril.

If you want dying Superpower America to be relevant in the coming Asian century maybe you shouldnt insult the people who will drive world growth in the coming decades.

The developments in the Philippines have been interesting and confusing to me, because over the last decade I got the distinct impression they were at least contemplating swinging entirely to a pro-China camp

But for some reason the Chinese didn't respond with any warmth or gladhanding to try to court them, just constant threats and seething as if they *want* them to stay in US orbit?

As a Filipino, as much as I hate Americans for being arrogant snobs who leveled my country to the ground due to their involvement across 3 wars here...

American exceptionalism pales in comparison to Chinese exceptionalism, they literally believe that China is the middle kingdom of the world and all should bow down and worship them. The US is like that too but at least you're more tolerant of other races compared to China.

Chinks play the long game, they know that Duterte is an anomaly and that most presidents after him will be US aligned.

Doesn't excuse that his predecessors and successor are all spineless cowards because they're afraid of China sending home a bajillion maids as protest if they did anything serious.

Their politicians, billionaires and elites get to lord over the shithole while everyone else is encouraged to move elsewhere, the smart ones migrate to first world c**ts and never return leaving behind a massive, low IQ peasant class who will keep voting for the same politicians that made them servile and poor
