Only 5 leo 2s have been lost

This is consistent with Oryx numbers but I doubt all those "not lost" vehicles can be refurbished and they'll most likely just get cannibalized for parts.
Also, pajeet spammers BTFO, lmao.

There are certainly more than 5 lost. Oryx only counts visually-confirmed losses — even if he’s notoriously biased in what to include. There are certainly going to be those lost to ATGMs, clusters, Krasnopol, mines etc where there were no drones available to take video of it. Ukraine strongly controls information and posting any unapproved information carries a stiff prison sentence so you can’t count on Ukrainian troops leaking visual confirmation of such losses.

The fact is no one knows how many Leo2s they have operational— maybe even NONE between losses, maintenance and repair. Please remember that Ukraine doesn’t have the ability to service these tanks themselves so they must be shipped out of the country for any major repairs and overhauls. Just a regular breakdown might require it to be shipped out. So no one should be surprised to learn much fewer are active than originally believed.

unlikely considering how dedicated russians are to taking a video of every lost Western vehicle especially considering Leo 2s only operated on small parts of the front where Russians have consistently flown recon drones around
      >posting any unapproved information carries a stiff prison sentence so you can’t count on Ukrainian troops leaking visual confirmation of such losses.
Ukie grunts have done this plenty of time with no repercussions though
      >The fact is no one knows how many Leo2s they have operational— maybe even NONE between losses, maintenance and repair
absolutely delusional if you truely believe that
      >Please remember that Ukraine doesn’t have the ability to service these tanks themselves
      tanks arent rocket science
most leopard 2 repairs and servicing can probably be done at any soviet shithole factory aslong as they get parts delivered and buy some specialist tools with a service handbook
of course for major combat damage/mechanical failures you will need to go back to the factory anyways but that is more rare
I would say atleast 50 leopard 2s are fully functional in ukraine right now if I had to guess

      Anonymous

I know this is b8, but for those who believe this; Do you genuinely think Russia would not sacrifice dozens of drones to get evidence of their major propaganda victories on camera by getting footage of the destroyed tanks? By nature of how this war has been fought, either the tanks are hit and abandoned for several hours which is ample time for proof of loss from the Russians, or the tanks are hit on the advance and the Ukrainians still take the territory in the area but Russians should have proof from forward observer drones directing artillery and ground defenses.

You people have an EXTRAORDINARILY skewed view of reality. Both sides put out highlight reels from drone footage so you think you understand what’s going on. But you only see the highlights of only those actions with drone footage. Ie, how do we know that those 3-pixel smudges from Ka-52 vids aren’t Leos? If a Leo gets knocked out but can be driven away to be shipped out later for repair Russia WON’T release that video even if it existed. Scouts lasing a Leo which gets plugged by a Krasnopol, no videos taken. A grouping gets plastered with clusters but there’s no drones around or there’s nothing to see because the tanks were under cover. Or there’s a fire but image quality isn’t good enough for a positive ID. Or very poor-quality Russian thermals can’t get a positive ID. Russians may report Leos hit but neither Oryx or anyone here gives that even a slight degree of factual credence. In other words you people are very satisfied with a fake pretend reality bubble in which everyone participates in a confirmation bias and therefore you’re certain no more than 5 Leos were lost.

Russia has massive quantities of drones on the southern front, if there is a Leo knocked out then it's going to be filmed 90% of the time because the Russians use them to guide artillery against attacks. There are effectively almost always drones around with footage that gets released except the times the Russians are getting overrun quickly. Also if a Leo gets knocked out and can drive away, that's not a destroyed tank. That's a damaged tank that can be repaired. If a Ka-52 kills 3 Leos, then presumably they stopped the attack right? Then where the fuck is the drone footage after? Most units will have a drone or at least a nearby unit will, and the destruction of western equipment will almost definitely get sent to the top so that the soldiers can look good and maybe actually get some unexpired rations or something similar. I don't think you understand just how common small basic drones are on the front.

    >According to sources in neighboring units and in the 108th itself, during the transfer from the Kherson region, from 30 to 50 soldiers of the regiment deserted, not wanting to go to the front line, where heavy fighting was going on.
    >On the way from Tokmak to Novopokrovka (a village northeast of Verbovo), the regiment's column was spotted by Ukrainian observers and came under heavy fire from HIMARS and artillery. As a result, according to various sources, from a third to a half of the personnel were killed and wounded - from 230 to 350 people, including officers. As the Russian military from other units say, the regiment is practically incompetent. The remnants of the 108th are now occupying positions in the Novopokrovka area.
