ONE MILLION SOLDIERS

One million Russian soldiers will soon march on Kiev. But why shouldn't Russia use the mobilization on other nearby hostile nations? ONE MILLION SOLDIERS MARCH FOR RODINA.

              >some pre-1600s guy who killed tons in melee and didn't die himself.
One of the spanish conquistadors most likely. The aztec way of war revolved around capturing the enemy army intact to use as human sacrifices, ransom, or slavery. They were also pre-iron age using colourful animal pelts as armour, moreso for intimidation rather than protection, and swinging clubs with rocks attached to them. Conquistadors in plate armour and steel weapons absolutely slaughtered them because the spanish fought to kill first and foremost. The aztecs also had no form of mounted cavalry due to horses not existing across the ocean so heavily armoured shock cavalry were unbeatable tanks they had no counter for.
90% of the entire native american population died from the conquests, mostly through disease mind you, but the k/d ratio of those guys would've been insane

And that's why everyone's kinda pissed. Yeah, T-80BVMs and T-90Ms can basically be slotted right back into inventory with no retraining, enabling them to restore their own existing strength
But NATO standard MBTs would be a whole new level of gamechanging.

T-90M is proper modern tank. There is nothing wrong with it. I recommend you to watch T-72B3 video review from Ukrainian tank crew on youtube with google translated subs. He said some bad things about it but praised his T-64 and T-80.

I don't see how mobilization achieves that. If he takes the time to train and equip the conscripts properly, it's well telegraphed and Ukraine can make the relevant preparations, if not achieve another victory that strengthens their position. If they're yeeted in after a week or two it's just a meat grinder of a thing.

          Anonymous

I meant Russian puppets announcing referendum about annexation a few days from now, so that instead of carefully planned offensive by AFU in a few weeks to retake, for example, twin cities, they would have to do an offensive now.
The problem with this hypothesis is of course that you have to have some army ready to use in a counter offensive. Which Russia most likely doesn't have

            Anonymous

I can see Russia thinking that, but everything I've seen from Ukraine suggests any such referendum won't change a thing. And the strikes on Crimean Airbases in the summer, in territory already considered de jure Russian, mean in some sense Ukraine has already called any bluff about nuclear weapons. Ukraine's greatest success has come from attacking when they're good and ready, and not as a kneejerk reaction to political considerations.

Most of my friends are Russians and Birts, both groups hope Putin gets the rope so they can go back to playing boardgames together.

In my circles no one really cares about war outside of throwing few dark jokes about our future. It's something distant and pretty much "routine" at this point. Same how the topic itself lost its steam in western media with time. "Yeah it just happens nothing new"

If there is a mobilization, what percentage of reservists do you think will try to dodge it?

After all those "updates" to Penal Code dodging for reservist sounds like walking on edge. But if mobilization happens I doubt they will enforce it so harsh unless its dire state where police catch every walking man on street

If Russia mobilizes, Ukraine should just preemptively invade Transnistria and Belarus just to deny Russia the attack vector and take Kaliningrad from the rear while they're at it. Really piss in their porridge.

I highly doubt there will be mobilization. It mostly for solders who are already fighting or will be.
