>On Nov 15, 2022, around 5:20 p.m., Idaho County Dispatch received a call from the International Emergency Response Coordination Center. They had received an SOS from a Garmin Inreach device belonging to Jonathan Conti, videographer/YouTuber, of Boise. The location given was just north of the Walton Lakes, which is south of the Powell Ranger Station, between the Elk Summit Rd (Forest Service Road 360) and Tom Beal Park Road (Forest Service Road 362).
>Idaho County Dispatch used the link provided by IERCC to message with Conti. Conti stated he needed rescued as he had snowshoed in, but had dropped down into a canyon that he couldn’t climb out of due to the snow being too thick. He had food, water and shelter and was safe for the night. He had parked his vehicle on Elk Summit Road about five miles from his location and was not familiar with the area, but told dispatch that he could make it to Walton Lake if that was a better rescue spot.
>On Nov. 16, 2022, Idaho County Sergeant Keith Olsen and Idaho County Deputy Stan Denham responded at first light. Idaho County Dispatch advised Conti to head to the Walton Lakes Trailhead, which was about half a mile from his location, and gave him coordinates to where he could be picked up by the deputies. Idaho County Deputies left the Powell Ranger Station by snowmobile on the Tom Beal Road. They cut numerous fallen trees out of the road to get to the Walton Lakes Trailhead.
>During this time, Idaho County Dispatch kept sending Conti messages with directions on how to get to the trailhead to meet the deputies and Dispatch continued to get responses from him stating “What are you talking about?”, “I feel like I should wait at this lake,” “I need someone to come get me at this lake, that’s why I called for a rescue.” Dispatch urged Conti to get to the 362 Road and to go slow and steady and take his time as there were no alternative options. Conti advised he wanted a helicopter because walking out was impossible as there was five feet of snow, and the trail was gone. Dispatch again urged and explained to Conti how to get to where he would need to meet the deputies and that it was not possible for a helicopter to land on a frozen lake.
>Deputies could only get so far by snowmobile as they hit a rock face and would need him to hike up to meet them. Conti replied, “Fine, but I feel like I’m walking to disaster.” Conti then walked about a third of a mile in the wrong direction before going back to Walton Lake and sending a message to Dispatch at about 12:45 PM stating that he had stopped to set up camp as he was out of food, out of energy and was scared.
what a fricking stupid whiny lazy b***h
You clearly didn’t watch the video
He never cried?
Stroke inducing writing. What is this guy trying fricking get at?
>he was out of food, out of energy and was scared.
>five feet of snow
>found to be in good physical condition with no injuries and still had plenty of food and provisions
>two feet of snow
so he's a pussy and a liar?
hahahahaha I'm watching the video, he didn't account for streams being frozen in winter and packed only boil-in-the-bag food hahahahahaha
>You clearly didn’t watch the video
>He never cried?
shit bait, NTA but he was on the verge of tears and he is the whiniest AND MOST UNGRATEFUL lazy b***h I have ever seen.
>"I paid $50 a month and rescuers didn't cuddle and kiss me when i called them because I was only half a mile from the trail!?"
yeah i get it, it can be a little scary when you're out there alone and get in a dodgy situation. that man has no courage. when the collapse comes he is NGMI.
>With this information, deputies left the trailhead and hiked down to Conti’s location which was approximately half a mile in approximately two feet of snow. Conti was found to be in good physical condition with no injuries and still had plenty of food and provisions in his backpack. Deputies helped Conti gather up his camp and walked him to the trailhead. He was taken by snowmobile back to the Ranger Station where the deputy’s patrol vehicles were parked, and then given a ride back to his vehicle on Forest Service Road 360.
>According to the ICSO release: “We would like to remind everyone that while having a GPS activated device can be lifesaving and a good tool to always have on hand in case of an emergency, you should still prepare yourself for any adventure in the wilderness, especially this time of year, by doing research on the area you are going and having a plan in place in case you get too tired to continue on.”

I swear that his expression says, "Ahem, hello? This is about ME not your bullshit rescue operation!"
Lol look at this homosexual, he sure looks like hes in a survival situation
Too bad they didnt leave him out there or shoot him
>didnt
The fricking camera. Of course. Gottta document it for the socials
You can hear his side of the story here
>Spoiler alert: he's an overly emotional homosexual
>Spoiler alert: he's an overly emotional homosexual
I know, it said he was a YouTuber in the beginning.
Notice the time stamps on the messages he shows onscreen at around 18:05. He shows the messages out of order in an attempt to make the cops look worse. They say they’re on the trail and coming to him and then 20 mins later he sets up camp for the night? And expects them to stay there with him?
>uhh sorry no we’re gonna go sleep in our houses with our wives
This homosexual is the worst kind of moron and has thousands of people kissing his ass and coddling his giant fricked up water head. Maybe if he had worked with the dispatcher and made efforts towards self rescue I wouldn’t hate him so much. But he didn’t and I do. Fricking punk.
>Went camping with a GPS and supplies
>Gives up and wants someone to take him home
I disagree I think they treated him very poorly and unprofessionally and he is understandably upset
>I’m ultra mega homosexual
We know
nice facebook meme boomer.
>and I’ll just keep proving it!
Who are you quoting?
He thinks we’re the same perosn
Paraphrase: A paraphrase is a restatement of the meaning of a text or passage using other words.

Don’t care how many homosexuals there are, it applies to all
No more lead for you, boomer. now head on back to facebook where you belong.
>did you guys see I called him a boomer!!
Oh frick I’ve been defeated
>facebook filename
nta but lol
ahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahaha
If I ever saw this guy on a trail I will hold him at gun point and take his gps and go pro.
N
oh and break his phone.
This guy lies numerous times in his video to make his situation appear like dire straits. Worst being how many times he gave the wrong elevations and terrain features, while doing a voice over from the comfort of his own home with no state of duress whatsoever. I could forgive this if he was in the field and disorientated but it's clear he is grossly moronic.
>Plans for a 4 day hike, states he packs for 5,6, even 7 days.
Doesn't throw another gas canister in his pack. Doesn't bring any food besides dehydrated meals. Does not mention bringing a map.
>pic rel
From when he displays a map at ~6:45, this is at 46.44164, -114.69418
>8500 ft Pass
It's 6600 ft. The highest point on his planned route is 6800 ft. The highest point on the map he posts is 8000 ft which is not on his route.
>The TH is set at 6100 ft and the lake at 6200 ft and you don't take into account the mountain at 7000 ft that's in between you. At the start of day 3 I hiked over that 7000 ft cliff there. (Glass brain sentences)
WHAT MOUNTAIN??? WHAT CLIFF??? The only peak he could be talking about is between the 2 lakes which he didn't make it to before he got "Lost."
>Had to drop 1000 ft in a half mile, think of me rolling down a hill.
The farthest descent on his route is 600 ft. Clearly he didn't bring a map because he can't read one.
Says multiple times
>KNEE DEEP SNOW
>HIP DEEP SNOW
Never films himself in snow above his mid-calf. The snow on the frozen surface of the creek shows it's ~2 ft deep.
>I decided to scout the lake... like a real outdoors man in this situation would do.
LOL
>Shows landscape shot pointing east from the slope to road 362.
Strange, landscape looks to gently undulating with no odd cliffs or sharp peaks where he came from.
>They doxxed me
Posts under his real name on several sites. Cueballs shouldn't have posted anything they should have just fined him for the trouble and moved on. There are no heroes in this story both parties are foul.
What's even stupider is that how easy he is to "rescue" just entirely contradicts how much danger he was in. They literally just walk up to him and he walks out with them.
Thanks for the giggles and thorough analysis anon, I also thought that this guy was an ultra giga moron for similar reasons. The absolute funniest to me was like you said about scouting the lake, peak LOL, but just prior to that he was squawking about how you have to stay in the same location during a rescue so that help can find you. Lmao even the dispatcher told him
>wtf you’re going the wrong way bro
And then he decided to set up camp lol
I absolutely agree with the cops blasting this guys name, profession, and the details of moronation specific to this case. The reason is that they knew this guy was a YouTuber with a decent audience reach and that he was at least possibly filming them during the walk out, he had a camera around his neck in the cop selfies. Those cops had first hand experience with this giga moron and wanted to make sure to get ahead of whatever story he might have been trying to spin. By this time he had already proven himself to be moronic and manipulative. Did you notice he presented some of the texts out of order in an effort to make himself look less manipulative?
>All the comments are simps
What is going on
birds of a feather flock together
I remember seeing this come up in my recommended and thinking, This has to be someone who is either enough of an butthole to call on emergency rescue for something he could easily get out of barring some serious injury, or he has to be stupid enough to get himself into a situation where he can't get out of with even a modicum of thinking or brute force. Either way I knew, since it was a first-hand account rather than a news report, that I would wish him dead by the end of it. So i didnt watch it, but thanks for confirming this.
Shills his product in the title of his embarrassing video.
I'm not gonna watch his shitty video, did he just want a helicopter in the thumbnail or something?
>I'm not gonna watch his shitty video, did he just want a helicopter in the thumbnail or something?
He thought he could order a helicopter to come rescue him and threw a little shitfit when SARS told him he needs to hike out like a man.
Eventually SARS hiked down to him and together they all hiked out.
He complains that he was not treated with compassion/dignity and starts crying as he recalls how they didnt even offer him any water.
I'd be pissed too if I spent like $800 on one of those SOS things and it turned out to be a glorified hiking buddy. What exactly are you supposed to be paying for when you buy one of those things?
Basically this guy got in over his head and did the smart thing by being prepared and crying for help. Sure he looks like a pussy but at least he didn't become another statistic.
>simp mentality
ngmi
I don't think you know what that word means...
>I'd be pissed too if I spent like $800 on one of those SOS things
They cost $350 + $12.99 a month subscription. The guy
>had food
>had water
>had shelter
>had a PLB
>was not injured
>was not lost
His own shitty self-defeating attitude got the best of him. Not every county has a search and rescue team with helicopters and shit as he would find out when two normal police officers came to bail him out.
>They cost $350 + $12.99 a month subscription.
He says right in the video that he pays $50/month for his subscription. But that's besides the point. The Garmin only guarantees that you'll be able to send out an SOS. They can't control how the local authorities handle the situation.
>had food
He had dehydrated meals and no fuel to cook it
>was not lost
He was lost, since he couldn't find the trail due to the snow, and was stuck deep in a canyon with no feasible way out. You don't just start blindly walking up snow covered mountains hoping you'll find the trail in situations like that. That's how you become a statistic.
>His own shitty self-defeating attitude got the best of him
I'd say his own inexperience was the biggest problem. He didn't read his topo map correctly, he didn't bring enough fuel, he didn't bring any real survival food (probably an ultralight gay who thinks pemmican, cheese and cured meat are too heavy)
> Not every county has a search and rescue team with helicopters and shit as he would find out when two normal police officers came to bail him out.
I can guarantee you that if it was some 20 year old girl they would have shown up in a chopper and carried her out on their shoulders.
>He says right in the video that he pays $50/month for his subscription
Yeah Idk, I have one, with rescue insurance and I pay $12.99 a month
>He had dehydrated meals and no fuel to cook it
He had access to water, he could have cold soaked his meals. I cold soaked my ramen and beans on the PCT. He could have started a fire as well, assuming he had a lighter, which he probably did.
>He was lost, since he couldn't find the trail due to the snow
I dont really consider that lost. He lost the trail, but he was not "lost", he knew where he needed to go, knew the direction and distance.
>I'd say his own inexperience was the biggest problem
I think his inexperience got him in trouble, but his shitty attitude is what made everything worse.
> he didn't bring any real survival food (probably an ultralight gay
The thumbnail suggests he had a full pack.
t. ultralight gay
>I can guarantee you that if it was some 20 year old girl they would have shown up in a chopper and carried her out on their shoulders.
Agreed
>He could have started a fire as well, assuming he had a lighter, which he probably did.
He most likely did not have the skillset to start a fire in a situation like that. Otherwise he probably would have. That's why everyone who goes on expeditions like that should learn some bushcrafting skills first.
>He lost the trail, but he was not "lost", he knew where he needed to go, knew the direction and distance.
We're arguing semantics. If you're in a situation where you don't feel you're capable of progressing, you're as good as lost and you should stay put until someone comes to help you. He was right about the staying where you are part. If the SAR dudes were telling him he could hike up to them, then surely they were capable of hiking down to him (which they would have done if they were professionals and not some lazy boomer police).
I mean I'm not trying to defend the guy too much, he clearly fricked up and is a goofball for getting himself into that situation. But everyone makes mistakes. People shouldn't be publicly made fun of by their rescuers, those who are meant to serve and protect. Hell he probably saved some innocent Black person's life by giving them something useful to do that day.
>Saved some innocent Black folk life by giving the cops something to do that day
Hahahaha. Ahh that one made me chuckle.
Know you'll probably never see this reply because I'm 10 days late, but another anon proved he was lying and there was no actual hill using a topo map.
. . . To raise awareness of how it's dangerous to go out unprepared in the winter by providing an example?
Lmao I can't tell if this is a troll or literally the YouTuber pretending to be an anon.
>That's why everyone who goes on expeditions like that should learn some bushcrafting skills first.
this, actually practice not just watch vods
really well put and I completely agree with you on the SAR team's poor behavior.
>cold soak
>in the middle of November
>in Idaho
Anon, I…
>brought dehydrated meals but no fuel for them
Bwhaahahahahahahahaha!
>>cold soak
>>in the middle of November
>>in Idaho
Not a mountiangay but I assume he had water.
>Water in bag
>put bag inside jacket by body
>soak until edible
Would this not work for some reason?
Also there's plenty of trees in that video, start a fire homie
It would drop your body temperature and risk you getting hypothermia also it would take hours to melt a small amount
Lmfao you mean the police? Yeah people go bald from the pharmaceuticals in the water unironically
"Hold a small bag of cold water in your jacket for an hour" does not put you at risk of hypothermia. Fricking christ
The sheer level of moronation and lack of common sense on this board is mind-boggling
in the video he drinks from a stream
he had access to running water
open pouch
pack pouch with snow
seal pouch & place inside jacket, outside base layer
walk
Food's mushy in under an hour. I've done exactly this in sub-zero and I'm essentially moronic. It ain't rocket science.
>bwhaahahahahahahahaha
christ, thought I was on myspace for a moment there
>He had dehydrated meals and no fuel to cook it
Melt snow with body heat and cold soak it.
>he couldn't find the trail due to the snow
If you're snowshoeing you don't need to follow a trail. Just follow terrain. But you need to know how to read a map, which this homosexual apparently doesn't.
> I can guarantee you that if it was some 20 year old girl they would have shown up in a chopper and carried her out on I can guarantee you that if it was some 20 year old girl they would have shown up in a chopper and carried her out on their shoulders. their shoulders.
She also would have opened up her legs and let all of her rescuers take a turn.
>this is what society has devolved to
Mankind had a good run while it lasted.
I’m just glad we’re here for the end together brother. Nu/out is the first boil of the Black Death coming for our society at large. OP moron should have become a popsicle
Imagine defending the sociopathic behavior of lead poisoned boomer cops
Imagine relying on a gps to save your inexperienced ass
Why do I have to choose one or the other? I hate both Israel and Palestine. Don't need to pick sides.
I’m literally a hillbilly on his porch smoking a pipe. What the frick are you saying
You have an obligation to serve and protect Israel, stop running from your problems
GLOWING Black person GO AWAY
Bitchmade
>Cops clearly in their 50s
>lead-poisoned boomers
Those men were born in the 70s. Update your vernacular, tard.
Anyone born between 1920 and 1980 had a lead poisoned childhood
>Mankind had a good run
Not really
If you leave out the last ~120 years, it was alright.
It was just constant loss of natural heritage
grow up
>800 bucks
>thinks that equates to helicopter rides on demand
Stay indoors.
helicopters are for actual life threatening situations
So if some moron twists their ankle in the parking lot of wallmart so long as they spent $800 they deserve a $20k helicopter medivac? Because that's not a million miles off what happened here.
>spend $800 for Garmin™
>don't get on-demand $20k heli medvac
capitalism has failed
thats not even a fair comparison
dude wasn't even hurt, just needed some direction
For real. Even if he couldn't figure out cold soaking his meals, not being able to eat for a night, or two, or even several days isn't going to kill you. He just freaked out and couldn't help himself. People like that shouldn't get into these kinds of situations alone.
I believe you still have to pay the 20k evac unless you bought their insurance in addition to the device and subscription.
Just watched it whaat a massive homosexual
He thought $50 a month included a kiss on the ass
Ahhhhh halp me mami, baby needs help!!
Better to swallow your pride and call for help than die in the middle of nowhere.
>implying he was ever at a risk of dying
Conti hands types this post. He was at no risk of dying refer to.
I live in Idaho, my kids have walked to school a further distance and in more snow.
As a Teenager I have hiked up steeper slopes for several miles, in more snow, in a hoodie, doc martens, and only a book bag full of jerky and trailmix.
He just wanted to get a rescue so he could put it in the thumbnail of his YouTube video.
>"beat his ass"
Always with the homosexual innuendos. Fukkking am*rikkkan Black person worshipping skkkum.
Hello Jon, i didnt know you lurked here
The officers weren't trained in SAR, they were just regular sheriff's officers.
Dude was most definitely a moron (obviously out of his depth), but so were the two deputies. Imagine making fun of someone that requires assistance, when they literally pay your salary.
>making fun of someone who pays your salary
The moron was from Boise, not Idaho County. This is also a moronic thing to say because lying to your rescuers about how much food you have or what site conditions are makes him the even larger douche. If you’ve made me of all people on the side of the police then you deserve a bill for time and equipment. Hopefully Big Shot YouTuber stays inside for the next 30 years
>they didnt even offer him any water
>two feet of snow
I fricking hate cops but they should've went down there and made him sign a contract saying he must wear a helmet and have a guardian placed over him. If he didn't sign they should've beat his ass and left.
>I fricking hate cops but they should've went down there and made him sign a contract saying he must wear a helmet and have a guardian placed over him. If he didn't sign they should've beat his ass and left.
Haven't cackled this hard in a while, thanks anon.
Yea this is the demoralizing shit that public safety people like myself have to deal with evey now and then thar makes us want to quite our job and let these homosexuals take care of themselves for once. Or die trying. I fricking hate people so much it's unreal
Goes both ways. How do you wake up everyday hating fun?
*quit
>I fricking hate people so much it's unreal
Doesn't sound like your a good fit for a public service job. Maybe try finding another career? Warehouse? Factory?
Its a learned reaction from the job. Urban EMS for 6 years fried any shred of empathy I had for people I don’t directly know.
regardless of the fact that this guy is a crybaby, it was a real b***h move for the police to make a post on facebook mocking his misfortune. Why are cops such sadists?
Crybabies deserve to be publicly humiliated.
These digits confirm, shame the unprepared crybaby homosexual
yeah this guy is/was a huge homosexual. They shoulda left his ass there and hopefully he woulda died.
Cops give up what little humanity they have when they join the force, it becomes us vs them.
oh look, it's an antifa homosexual.
daily reminder to lynch yourself.
nice troll bro
Lmao call the cops when a Black person is trying to rape your anus. 30 minute response time.
They dont serve you, they serve the state. You dont have to be a commie homosexual to realize that.
Of course they have an us vs them mentality. It’s necessary for them to do their job.
>it was a real b***h move for the police to make a post on facebook mocking his misfortune
how did they mock his misfortune? all the facebook post says is literally the events of the situation with a reminder to not get overconfident just because you have a GPS.
You’re so naive. Why the frick would they think it’s ok to post that publicly and humiliate him? Considering they already had a grudge and treated him like shit it was obviously malicious
I don't know how this guy doesn't end up dieing like a turkey when it rains outside.
Well he already survived several days in the wild completely alone which is pretty impressive. I would’ve been too afraid.
>Why are cops such sadists?
all cops are bastards
HAHA what a homosexual
this. they should have left him out there.
They should have shot him in the head.
the guy is moronic and deserves to be made an example of so other people don't do similarly moronic shit. if he was unfamiliar with the area he should've had 3d/topo maps or at least understand cardinal directions. he had neither. while Idaho is mostly deeply inbred, your average boise resident is a level of moronic unmatched anywhere on the west coast
>while Idaho is mostly deeply inbred, your average boise resident is a level of moronic unmatched anywhere on the west coast
Have you been to California and Oregon?
i watched this whole video a couple days back, im fairly certain he did this stunt to drive clicks but it go the way he liked. if you look at the map he chose an ideal spot for them to send a heli for evac(a frozen lake),he immediately asks for helicopter and they tell him to frick off almost right away. they then ask him if hes okay for food he says yes, then he "runs out of fuel" and now doesnt have food which is when the cops actually gave a shit enough to rush to him on snowmobiles.
on the other hand the cops sounded like huge homosexuals. if he legit was worried for his survival and in over his head then these guys acted extremely unprofessional. they waffled about forever about how they planned to get to him, didnt give clear plan to him, didnt follow search and rescue protocols and then got b***hy when they finally found him and then took selfies like narcissistic homosexuals to publically shame him for boomers on facebook.
both parties were moronic and doesnt bode well for my confidence as a garmin inreach user worried about a injury or other SHTF in a solo setting
>if he legit was worried for his survival and in over his head
He wasn't though, he was just some homosexual trying to make a youtube video for clicks. Even if he was "pretending" to be worried, people can pick up on that OVER THE FRICKING PHONE HE WAS TALKING TO THEM ON. He probably kept asking for a helicopter, and they should've given him a ride and then charged him the full price of it.
this thread is just further proof this entire board is full of larpers that never watched the video
>dude just hike the small trail out
that was a trail that was marked in summer and is now completely covered in snow other than maybe some markings on trees(if any even existed) and was extremely steep, not a great time to do risky moves when you are running low on energy and fuel to cook your food
>dude just melt snow and eat your prepackaged meals cold
do you know how long and inefficient this is going to be and potentially dangerous to cool your body temperature just to get some water out of it
he didnt talk to them over the phone you moron, he talked to them via text message via garmin. they dont know what fricking state hes in, he asked once and they said they dont do heli extracts.
christ this board is full of fat fricking day hike car camping idiots that think they are survivorman
>trail was covered with snow blah blah blah
He had coordinates for pickup location and pussyfooted around the lake instead of going to the road they asked him to head for.
>b-b-b-but it was steeeeeep
Yeah just like the 5 miles he had already hiked and then easily hiked with his new sheriff buddies
>just melt snow
Let me stop you right there because he never said he ran out of liquid water. Consistently said he had food and water to dispatcher until he was crying and pooped himself a little.
It’s obvious to everyone that you’re carrying water for this fricking smoothbrain who couldn’t read a map, didn’t or couldn’t make a fire, and couldn’t make it the last 0.5 miles out until the gigachad deputies came and held his hand the whole way.
Agreed. Also he only had 2 hrs left before dark to climb that thing near the end and he figured it would be better if he set up camp
>heli extracts
Funny how he specifically asked for a heli extraction
>Hey look garmin I got lost around this lake, conveniently frozen and large enough to land a helicopter, how bout you land here and we do a badass take of me looking over the horizon while the heli rises over the mountains, it will be badass because I'm badass
>Yeah we don't do that
>OMG I'm scared running out of food, the trail is too steep the snow is too deep a hobo will rape me the water from the stream is too cold please send someone uwu!
I would love to have been that hobo
I like how he posed for a photo while waiting to be rescued. Gotta get those subs man
From this point I imagine it went like this
>oh man, this is gonna be such a sweet shot
>chopper comes over the mountain and lands one the lake
>wind blows through my hair (I think I’ll set up camera 2 over here)
*BRRRIIINNNGGG BRRRRIIIIINNNNG*
>Fricking b***h at the 911 office again
>Dumbass is inside while I, the intellectual is outside
>i-i-i-I’m scared and cold, rations running low, my compass is lodged too firmly in my ass to read it, pwease send chopper naow pwease
>sir we’ve got 2 rednecks en route, please make your way to the marked exit using these landmarks, directions, and coordinates. Our one helicopter is in use now taking a heart attack patient to the one reputable hospital in the state.
>mfw no whirlybird >:( inconsiderate oldgay
>I’m gonna do a little scouting first, that will make some nice content 🙂
>sir, our redneck corps has nearly finished their Boones Farm wine coolers, are you at the pickup location?
>i set up camp 1/2 mile away from where you said to go, made you a spot *pats ground* uWu
>YOOOO
>over here oficeeeerrrrssss 😉
>uh sir why do you have 4 days worth of food and why is your wiener hard?
>*nervously hides rescue boner* uWu Would you like to discuss Leave No Trace before we cook supper? Got some wine and oysters for you fellas!
>No we’re going back to town for more Thunderbird
>will I get a piggyback ride? pwease?
>get up and get in the truck before we paint you in blackface and start blasting *reaches for evidence planting field kit*
>MFW the officers wouldn’t even lick my butthole when I used my Garmin! Brand InReach SOS Beacon Communicator! I trust my life with it!
Yeah I’m posting this on Facebook to discourage this exact situation ever happening again.
i laughed
funny, have a bear
Saved, thx 4 bear
nice
>>sir, our redneck corps has nearly finished their Boones Farm wine coolers, are you at the pickup location?
perfection
Is he holding a camera while filming himself making a face like a teenage girl? What an attention whoring c**t.
>i hit vibrate on my garmin inarse here's what happened
can't stand shitty youtubers filming timelapse videos of themselves building forts and playing with gismos in a park overnight
Did he not bring a map and compass?
I was going to ask this too. He couldn't physically see the trail due to snow but he didn't have a map of the trail? Or general heading of where to go? Doesn't he have a GPS and a cellphone with him as well?
He had all this shit. And whats more he ended up at the place he was trying to get to anyway! And he had a watersource! Look im a homosexual and my heart would probably be racing a mile a minute if I was in the situation he was in, but with his equipment and food situation i wouldnt tell the cops im out of food and the clock is ticking.
Why are these "humans" all bald, weird eyes, weird smile?
What's going on in America?
Were they part of some weird social conditioning program/experiment?
Post cranium
Old men are bald?
The west has fallen.
Yes.
i legit wish he would have died out there
he seems like a completely useless homosexual
What a weird story. Looks like he got "lost" accidentally on purpose for subs and fame. He was probably going for a "yooooooooo helicopter rescueeeee this is badasssss now Discarvey Challenge will give me my own show!" instead he was told to take hike.
Why? Is it so hard to imagine some dumb frick going on a hike in the winter and getting in over his head because he doesn't know what he's doing?
He tells his story like he was in deep trouble but in reality he wasn't.
>Claims he didn't have food. Actually had plenty
>Claims no water. Actually mentions he found a stream
>Claims he was unable to walk out. Basically spend his whole time walking out
Either he was pretending to be in trouble or he was really really stupid.
>Claims he was unable to walk out. Basically spend his whole time walking out
They only walked to the snowmobiles and then drove out. They had to cut down like 30 trees just to make it walkable.
What is walkable and what is snowmobile-able are two entirely different things. Generally it is better to just walk around, over, or under a downed tree.
But it says something about the difficulty of the terrain that they chose to cut down all those trees so that they could take their snowmobiles in instead of just walking.
Because when there’s a wailing homosexual in the woods aiming his daddy’s lawyer at your 6 man sheriffs office you shouldn’t waste time. If they had to have walked in I think it should be firmly within the law that each officer be allowed to strike him 1 time per mile. Inexperienced underprepared ‘influencers’ need to stay indoors
It's their fricking job. They can quit at any time.
Lol see ya later almost frozen homosexual our shift is up
My shift ends at 5, later bro.
> Leave your government funded toys behind to walk through the snow to "rescue" a citiot so you can go back to sitting in the car for the rest of your shift
OR
> Use more government funded toys to kill time.
If you ask me, these calls should be handled by a drone dropping care packages. If you can still move you can get yourself out and learn from it.
>What is walkable and what is snowmobile-able are two entirely different things.
On a positive note, with those trees cut down the trail must be really clear now!
Yeah now they can probably even put in a parking lot to make it more accessible so this never happens again. I for one applaud this inclusivity initiative
>They had to cut down like 30 trees just to make it walkable.
they cut down trees to get the trucks to the trail head where they launched the snow mobile. you dont have to cut down trees to "make it walkable", dumbass
yeah because as every real outdoorsman knows, it's fricking impossible to climb over a fallen tree.
conti hands typed that post.
hahahahahahahahahahahaha
what a pussy
Are you dumb? Do you know how quickly you can die without food and water in the cold?
Apparently not easily enough
He wanted to basedface in front of the helicopter for the thumbnail, guaran-fricking-tee it
NOOOO!!! I'VE BEEN KEKED BY A WORD FILTER!!!
Brb, suiciding
Frick you op, expected some kinda /x/ with how persistent he was with leading them to the lake but it's just some lazy homosexual
This guy also made a vidya about using that emergency satellite communicator. The difference is that this guy is humble, honest, thorough, and concise. On the other hand OP homosexual is arrogant, obviously lying, omits details, and is long winded. Thus, OP is indeed a homosexual.
I hope this becomes a trend and zoomies start going out into the woods to SOS, to the point SAR stops responding and all the zoomies die.
Hell yes, man frick those guys for real
Looks like you’re making the rookie mistake of thinking someone is more trustworthy just because they’re a smooth talker
>be Idaho redneck
>get a deputy job cause your dad did it
>dispatcher says someone is stuck out on old Tom Beal Rd
>come on partner, let’s get that poor soul out of there
>cut many fallen trees on the way
Dispatch:
>megagay says he’s run out of food and fuel and the end is nigh!
MFW
> O.o
>hike down to lake
>Megagay! Are you out here megagay?
*megagay is filming his latest monologue*
>oh hey boys, let me just pack my things real quick and we’ll walk right out of here!
>drive homosexual back to his car and jump his battery probably
MFW PrepHole tells me I have no humanity
>cut many fallen trees
Did u read the article?
It was fallen trees that was obstructing the snow mobile
You really trying to fact check special officer doofy???
Doesn't this moron realize he could walk in any direction and hit a road within 2 hours? He could have, for starters, walked from where he came from or followed the river down.
I'm disappointed. I thought I was gonna read something spoopy when we got to the part where he was refusing to come to the trailhead and trying to get rescuers to come to him. Instead I got a whiny b***h.
>Official rating:
>2/10
shitty /xout/ thread but it kept me guessing
Because you exist I believe they should have left him in the woods to become a popsicle
No one cares what sociopathic boomers believe. You're irrelevant.
Says the one who thinks he’s controlled by israelites lmao
reject westoid eceleb homosexualry
embrace eastoid autist moronery
I am convinced most of the people on this thread have never been outside and also have zero empathy, just like the police officers.
He was panicked, he had dehydrated food he couldn’t eat, he only had ice cold water and no fuel left. The sun would go down in 2 hours and he didn’t want to take his chances. He was panicked the entire time, and the police officers weren’t helping. Was he showing his frustration towards him when he shouldn’t have been? Yes, but he’s only human.
*towards them* when he shouldn't have been
>he had dehydrated food he couldn’t eat,
this had been debunked. you can cold soak dehydrated meals. its a popular way of preparing meals in the thru hiking community.
It’s the middle of winter you dumb piece of shit. All the water he has is ice cold. He will risk hypothermia if all he consumes is ice cold liquid.
please go outside. you dont need to consume hot food to survive in freezing temperatures. he was literally drinking that cold water, there's no reason he couldnt use it to rehydrate his food
You’re a stupid piece of shit and I hope you die
I live in Maine, I know a thing or two about snow. You should get your hormones checked, you come off like a woman.
>hurr durr he was panicked
I'll admit that it's alright for him to act like a b***h while he was out and in perceived danger. Better safe than sorry.
What is not alright is him lying afterwards, when he calmed down, for the sake of getting more youtube clout. Or posing as some kind of outdoors guru when he has trouble with preparing for a winter hike. Hate is justified.
When did he lie?
Also either way them doxxing him was wrong
>Also either way them doxxing him was wrong
How is that wrong? His YouTube channel is literally his first and last name
https://www.youtube.com/@JonConti
Still not answering how he lied..
Also then posting a picture of him and making a news article about it embarrassing him is wrong, I don’t care how you spin it
>Also then posting a picture of him and making a news article about it embarrassing him is wrong
He made an entire video about it, he's just pissed that they made their article first with the actual facts before he could spin the facts into his fake and gay survivorman persona.
If you have to use an emergency beacon to get some cops to walk your ass out then you deserve to be made a complete mockery of. Him having a single moment of life ahead of him where he isn't in complete shame and being made fun of is completely unacceptable.
Totally agree, Mr Yootoob is a stone cold moron and every person who meets this frickhead on the street should remind him of that fact as often as possible. I still think the cops should have beat his ass like a rented mule as soon as he asked them to stay the night.
>When did he lie?
See:
>he has exp
Then why wasn't he prepared? Why didn't he bring a map and compass or food that isn't fricking cold-soaked?
>Also either way them doxxing him was wrong
Based spineless homosexual, changing the point of the discussion as soon as proven wrong with better arguments.
Yes.
If a ranger got lost in woods I'd make fun and ridicule him as well, but I'd never make fun out of a child or mentally ill person who doesn't know what they're doing.
>way worse
He'll live.
He clearly has a lot of outdoors experience if you even watch any of his videos.
>if you even watch any of his videos.
I'm not sure that's true considering all of his videos are literally just shilling products while inside his (parents) home. Even in the video where he's whining about how big meanies didn't fly him out in a helicopter, the description has MORE THAN 20 LINKS TO BUY GEAR.
The only videos I saw were of him being outside doing stuff outdoors including fishing etc.
nah he deserves all the bullying he has gotten. He didn't bring a map or compass, didn't navigate with his phone, and didn't build a fire. He is a moron beyond all imagination. I have walked out of similar situations in snowshoes without difficulty because i know basic land navigation skills and dont rely on alltrails for my map. The cops might be massive buttholes but he deserved it in this case.
The cops didn’t know jack shit about wilderness survival. No one deserves to be abused.
seems like they did a better job than him.
Haven't posted ITT yet. I'm none of the (You)s that the rest of (You) are arguing with.
This unprepared, inexperienced wimp is a YouTuber who set out to make money by recording himself engaged in survivalist activities in the woods during the wintertime. That makes him 1.) a public entertainment figure who 2.) was out in the woods in a "professional" capacity.
Because of this, I find it entirely acceptable for the sheriffs, the general public, YouTube users, and everyone else alive to ridicule him as a fool. The world needs more ridicule to minimize stupid people doing stupid things.
It's one thing for you to expect rescuers who have to come bail out some unprepared, non-map-reading private citizen who overestimated his abilities to respect their privacy, not openly ridicule them, etc.
But that wasn't this guy. He was trying to portray himself as some sort of woodsman when he clearly wasn't, and he was doing os publicly, for profit. He made a goofball of himself and deserves to be mocked.
As a matter of fact, in my opinion the state shouldn't be obligated to rescue anyone at all. People love to complain about the big and oppressive police-state nanny government until they fall down and twist their ankle, and then the government can't come to bail them out with a fleet of gunships, an airborne division, and ten pallets of emergency supplies fast enough.
I’m sorry what? So if you’re an actual moron with zero skills it’s okay to waste everyone’s time, but if you made some kind of miscalculation you’re somehow way worse than people that go in completely unprepared?
>So if you’re an actual moron with zero skills it’s okay to waste everyone’s time, but if you made some kind of miscalculation you’re somehow way worse than people that go in completely unprepared?
What's funnier: a random dude getting hacked? Or an IT expert claiming to be impossible to be hacked online?
>I’m sorry what? So if you’re an actual moron with zero skills it’s okay to waste everyone’s time
I never even implied such a thing. I don't think it's okay to waste search and rescue resources at all, no matter who you are. If you, a private citizen, end up needing rescue, you should call for that rescue; but you should also feel ashamed of yourself, learn from your mistakes, and not overestimate your abilities moving forward.
The guy in the OP who needed rescue made himself a public figure, for profit, and the situation he needed rescuing from was the very same one that he created for himself in order to turn that profit. For this reason, it's okay for everyone to ridicule him.
However, it's never "okay" to waste search and rescue resources. Never said it was. In fact, people these days are needing rescuing so much more often than in past decades that authorities are talking about charging people for their rescues.
That's fine with me. Let them charge. If you can't afford recreational rescues, then make sure you don't need one by being prepared, or just don't go. Assuming the government will bail you out is a dumbass way to go through life anyway, and besides: sometimes they won't be able to due to weather and/or terrain conditions.
>As a matter of fact, in my opinion the state shouldn't be obligated to rescue anyone at all.
Perfect then I should be able to opt out of taxes correct?
Yes you should be able to opt out of taxes. However
>no access to public utilities
>no voting
>no healthcare (don't even give me that private healthcare bs)
>no insurance
>no law enforcement
>nothing that has been touched by the government at all
I'd accept it.
>no access to public utilities
Based
>no voting
Based
>no healthcare
>no insurance
>no law enforcement
Exceptionally unbased. In order for that to happen, you would have to restrict people from engaging in free trade of those things, which is asinine and defeats the entire purpose of opt in taxes.
>(don't even give me that private healthcare bs)
Explain yourse, this makes no sense. Most healthcare is private healthcare. Very few countries have a nationalized medical industry.
Like seriously, insurance is overwhelmingly a private industry. And law enforcement is also exceptionally private industry, despite not being to an overwhelming degree.
What do those three things have to do with taxes.
Excellent post.
>5 miles from where he parked
>5' of snow
>impossible to get out
lmao thanks for the laff, OP!
if only he brought his freeze-dried McChicken...
>Dude it's public record that they were dispatched for a rescue and I promise you some bored as frick reporter was listening to them on the scanner and working up a story already
Nah, it was posted on the official facebook page for that county's sheriff office, but even then the first 3 posts are just a copy-paste of what they posted on their facebook page. None of it is particularly disrespectful to the guy, it's just a post of the events as they happened with a reminder not to get overconfident.
Went to the video where he tries to spin it so he's a helpless victim who was mistreated instead of a fricking idiot who tried to get heli shots for clout. Comments are full of mouthbreather fans telling him "you did the right thing bro, cops were sooo unprofessional, so glad you're safe". Dumb people encouraging dumb people.
He might've paid to viewbot that video specifically, considering the desperate state of his channel. I made a short tutorial video for a game specifically for my friend a couple of years ago, and it has more views than his entire channel if you don't include the whining video.
Where is the proof he wanted a heli rescue for YouTube?
in the messages he showed in the videos where he told them to send a chopper
rare pic
That doesn’t mean he was doing it for the views? He just wanted to be rescued and get out of there
Then why the frick did he specify the manner of rescue?
"Hello yes fire department please send your busty babes truck my smoke alarm is running low on battery. Yes I have the sprinkler going. Make sure they're in the white shirts this time"
Frick off.
>"Hello yes fire department please send your busty babes truck my smoke alarm is running low on battery. Yes I have the sprinkler going. Make sure they're in the white shirts this time"
>He first asked specifically for a helicopter
>Cops said no, you can literally walk out of there
>He said nooooo, now I'm feeling tired and I'm out of food uwu (lie)
>Boomer cops legit stroll down and stroll out with the attention prostitute
As others have said, it’s pretty clear that OP video guy wanted the chopper to land on the lake. If you wanted to ‘scout’ why not scout TOWARDS the trail your rescue is coming down. Unless he wanted to stay near the lake for cool chopper thumbnail pics and to enshrine himself forever as the greatest of all Garmin shills
>That doesn’t mean he was doing it for the views?
You can tell it's one dumbass defending this guy because she consistently phrases statements as questions. Giveaway trait of zoomer females, so almost certainly a she. Probably the same one who started the thread where she's trying to figure out how to piss outdoors. Similar writing style throughout, plus being unable to even piss outside explains why she sympathies with the YouTuber.
>she's trying to figure out how to piss outdoors
It has been concluded that thread was a piss fetish thread.
Another reason I think he did it for the views was because the first video in the recommended next to his video is "I pressed SOS on my InReach and a helicopter showed up?!?!" with some homosexual doing a goyface and a helicopter in the background, and that video has 100x more views that his whole channel.
Watched the vid and read the comment section too. Had to stop. P.T.Barnum was right, one every minute. What a bunch of fricking chumps.
That's because he deletes all comments that are critical of him
He was just shitty that he didn't get a heli for the YT thumbnail. Went on to pretend that he couldn't get out of the valley/had run out of food to increase his chances. Didn't work out in his favour, so now he's crying. Death to YouTubers.
Death to frickboys and larpers.
I mean he basically did run out of food cause he had no way of eating it
>I mean he basically did run out of food cause he had no way of eating it
You absolute fool- this only works when it’s not negative 500 outside. sometimes you have to soak it for hours by which time the entire meal would freeze solid.
You can eat freeze-dried meals without water you silly homosexual.
He should of been crunching those all the way up the hill like gorp. If he could see the road, he wasn't lost. He could of backtracked on his own trail. Even snow would not of filled it all the way in no matter what. Dude is a Yahoo. Local sherrif must deal with a bunch every year.
Pee on it
This is bullshit, I've put snow into one of those packs and just left it in my jacket. It's it was all fricked up but calories are calories. This shit would be reasonably edible given the time you have to prepare it between eating.
You're arguing with a person who would easily find themselves in the situation this moronic youtuber did. If youre actually experiencing starvation, then luke warm field rations will be more than heaven.
People's inability to think even an inch outside the box is how they get killed.
There was a woman that died like half a mile from the trail and no one was able to find her for a month, despite her staying alive
>There was a woman that died like half a mile from the trail and no one was able to find her for a month, despite her staying alive
This is why I tell people on this board to learn to use a topo map and base plate compass if they plan to leave sight of an established trail.
It bears repeating: You can get lost just out of sight of an established trail, and a topo map and compass have infinite battery life. To make best use of those old-school tools, you do need to keep track of where you are as you hike in at least a general sense, but even if you don't, at least with the compass you can follow a heading or bearing, even if you can't manage to estimate or triangulate your precise position on the map.
Without at least a compass that you know how to use, you can't reliably head in any direction at all as you'll veer off-course. You may die. You can learn to use this shit with a Google search and some practice, so do it.
Geraldine Largay, if anyone wants to know. 66 year old Air Force nurse.
This is what his exit route looks like with an ascent of a measly 281m. It's about 2 miles?? He had 2 hours until darkness, even with the snow he had snowshoes so he could at least get within earshot of the boomer cops.
If he didnt want to chance it he could stay a night at the lake with access to water and shelter he would certainly survive and hike out the next morning? WTF would you hike into the snow if you are mentally unprepared for things to go wrong and get panicky at the first signs of trouble. I bet if he didn't have the safety net of communicating with SAR he would just man up and hiked to safety.
He called SAR because he wanted to make a YouTube video about getting rescued. This anon
is correct. You are correct too; it is an easy route and the guy should feel embarrassed.
He's an e-celeb though, so he doesn't understand concepts like embarrassment or shame. He just wants to make videos and get attention.
>I bet if he didn't have the safety net of communicating with SAR he would just man up and hiked to safety.
no he would cry and die.
he was never lost or in danger though, he wanted to use the sos button and get a helicopter.
>nov16 2022: requests chopper
>jun30 2022: more views than his subscriber count. literal basedjack face in thumbnail.
no wonder he wanted the chopper.
Someone please edit this guy goyfacing in front of a heli landing on a frozen lake
It's beautiful, anon. Thank you!
>press Garmin button in Idaho,
>get rescued by an mi-8
I want an mi-26 for mine
First post in the thread.
>if you genuinely think that you may be in life threatening danger, you can and should call SAR, because wasting somebody's time is better than wasting your life
>if you have to call SAR because you got lost like five miles away from your car, with a ton of food and equipment, you have fricked up, and there is nothing wrong with the local SAR people using you as an example of what not to do
I think these statements can both be true.
Who let this guy into the morons only thread???
If you're going to dabble in back country snowshoeing, back country skiing, mountaineering, long distance hiking, or other things where there are actual risk, then you are a gay and a loser for not educating yourself on the risks beforehand. You're a waste of SAR's effort and a waste of funding, and an embarrassment to yourself. Priority one should always be your own safety, including getting your sissy ass back to the car.
He wasn't lost though, he had a functioning GPS that the dispatcher was apparently forwarding coordinates to, at least according to the text messages. He just refused.
You’re forgetting one key point here. The guy is turbo moronic
This thread pulled me out of a depressive episode. Thanks for the laughs anons.
It's great to know I'll never be this this pathetic and moronic, or feel the need to broadcast it for the world to see lmfao
>some local deputies hiked down, gave him a kick, called him a homosexual and then walked away (with him in tow)
Is the subtext.
italian american moment
Mama Mia, warn a homie before you post something that flamboyant. I had to use the SOS button on my gaymin inAss, should be a chopper here any minute now
i laughed so hard I need a heli medevac
lmfao
*half a helicopter ride
Disgusting bald heads
I like aryans as much as the next guy but why are they obsessed with their eyes and taking creepy selfies?
Weak human beings like this used to be naturally selected out of the gene pool.
Thanks to "modernity" and "rescue" forces, we're seeing a level of dysgenics that shouldn't be naturally possible.
Anyone with a crippling disease (in this case, mental moronation) gets to reproduce, and taint the gene pool further, weakening society even more.
All of this degeneracy stacks up, and up, and up, until eventually, the few remaining strong individuals in society can no longer support the enormous snowball of obese, bloated, diseased, undernourished, myopic, mentally ill, disabled beings, and everything collapses.
It will be for the best though - as they say, everything in this world is in its rightful place.
I try to find peace, and prepare for the coming collapse.
>Weak human beings like this used to be naturally selected out of the gene pool.
Nowadays they just sit at home and post frog images.
CLUTCH
>balding meth junkie clones are sheriffs in Idaho
And another reason to avoid Idaho
I just want to say I appreciate you all on this site so much.
I watched the video and was literally seething with rage over how entitled, rude, and stupid this guy was, and it made me even more angry to see the thousands of only positive comments with all negative comments being deleted. Glad there is at least some like minded place in the world.
He literally said "I pay 50$ a month for the premium radio communicator", as justification for wasting the time and resources of the rescue service for a YouTube video." And then proceeded to hurl a bunch of Bullshit imaginary accusations of wrongdoing at them for being upset he's wasting their time and resources.
If you ever stumble across this thread while name searching yourself Jon, frick you, stop going outside. You don't deserve to.
>hiking alone through avalanche terrain
>rolling downhill on a 20-30 degree slope
this guy sucks
Looks like some good ski tours up there though, might have to make the trip sometime
This dude's video was really dramatic until I converted the miles and feet he talked about. Is this dude all gear no guts and brains? Fricking moronic. Stay to summer trail hiking.
>dehydrated meals
you don't need hot water, just water
I've made instant potatoes with very cold water and it made cold cheesy mashed potatoes which I dumped tuna on top then ate. It was fine.
100% this. It may not be enjoyable at times, but if you're truly in a situation where youre beginning to starve, it wont matter. And as
stated, he couldve started a fire
I'm so confused, he has food which can last him for another few days. He's close to a lake for direct water. He can still start a fire in those conditions with wood to boil snow if needed.
Police did absolutely fine for the actual "rescue", they knew he had food and the fricker was still recording youtube footage DURING THE RESCUE. The social media shit the cops did later was pretty shitty though.
If I have to take the time to go out into the backwoods and bring your diapered ass back to your car while you whine about how you wanted a hewwicowptah ride, you can fricking bet you're getting publicly roasted for it. Guy wants to be an influencer, so let people be influenced by his failures.
Saying you dont have food is a red flag in such situations, he was definitely an butthole for raising it when he had plenty.
I had a $2000 Trimble from a field job fail to give me any coordinates in the middle of a swamp that wasn't even on a map. I managed to find my way out, by myself. Oh yeah, and I'm a woman. This guy's a gay who should be under house arrest until he dies for being too moronic to function.
You are not a woman. You are mentally ill. Accept reality for what it is. You won’t escape your despair by pretending to be a woman.
> Doxxing
>bullying?
Nothing about what they posted was unprofessional. What he does is all public information and he was put out as a lesson to be better prepared. Stfu and move on with your life dude. Hes lucky he didnt get fined for wasting resources.
Why are those old, homosexuals playing on their phones whilst walking in freezing temps?
Do they have t levels lower than a cougar on her second wind of the cokkk carousel?
Probably texting their wives.
>lol this moron we were sent to rescue was actually half a mile from the road
So wait a minute I need to get this straight. Is it okay to just eat the freeze dried meals straight up like chips as long as youre drinking water? And is it okay to do if the water is freezing or will it frick your shit up?
Don't worry about it.
>they treated him unprofessionally!
when you work a public-facing job you get people/tasks that you have done a hundred times before.
they think their lie is a good one because they don't know you put up with that lie all the time.
this guy was a gay trying to get a chopper ride for views and they had a duty to bullycide him.
Honestly they should've taken him out back and shot him in the head.
Anyone who gets a helicopter evac out of a national park or forest should be banned from ever going into the park again.

anons, we'd all be fricking pissed as hell if we fricked up so bad we needed a rescue and the boomer fire department posted our whole ass face online and mocked us. I don't care if the guy is a douche or not, not gonna watch a youtuber under any circumstances because I don't allow proprietary software on my PC. Anyway. Weird thread guy(s)...
Take your meds, anon.
He didn't frick up, he just wanted to make a youtube video, that's the point of the thread. Nothing happened, he wasn't "lost", he didn't run out of food or water, he wasn't in any danger from wild animals, he wasn't injured. He pressed the SOS button and then lied about his situation to the rescue team for his youtube video.
>I don't allow propriety software on my pc
wut?
>watches YouTube video
>immediately gets predator droned by Obama
What trail, homie?
Holy shit guys, the youtuber is getting so butthurt triggered in the comments and doing middle schooler tier bad faith arguments with every negative comment.
This guy is officially a lolcow.
>So by your profile pic I'm gonna assume you're fat as frick and don't understand the idea of movement
uh, based?
Not based, uber cringe as he doesnt have any ground to stand on.
>hurr durr I dont have blubber
yeah, thats why youre dying moron, eat more fat during the winter. No wonder even a fat walrus can survive winter and he cant.
Sausage fingers typed this
Post irl pics
He needs to see this thread. I bet his inevitable response video would be pretty entertaining.
>if you dont have water
If only there was some way to turn snow into water...hmmmmm....
i know, right? like, he says he was out of gas for his stove ... body heat. put snow in bottle or something, put bottle under shirt, jog or do basic exercises to keep yourself warm. snow will be melted in 2 minutes.
underrated post.
not based, pathetic cope. conti hands.
I saw the video on YouTube before I knew about this thread.
My take at the time was that the guy was a genuine Dunning Kruger doesn't-know-he-doesn't-know-shit type of guy. He even admits in the video to not understanding that the path to the lake actually had a goddamn MOUNTAIN in between - I guess no one told him how height curves work? So, a total noob with no business going on a solo snow overnighter, of all things. But I thought "OK, he got out alive, the SAR guys were a bit unprofessional, and he seems to have learned his lesson".
But these kinds of comments? Seriously dude, you were way in over your head, you could've died, you should be extremely humble, yet instead you choose to shit on the few guys who actually tell you the truth instead of showering you with participation trophies?
Whats the deal with people not knowing gradiant lines? I was watching people do the Straight Line Mission thing and people are shocked about steep gradiants appearing, like a basic terrain maps will have this info, even google maps has this.
Nobody knows map features because google apps don't speak them to you as they spoon-feed you.
>here comes the major terrain feature! Br-r-r-r-r-r!
They probably saved him $40k by not sending a helicopter. I don’t think insurance covers short haul rescue.
I paid 12 dollars, I expect a helicopter ride.
>homosexual calicommie b***hes when park staff has to come and baby his pathetic shit ass out
lol
lmao even
What a tool baby omg lmao
Love threads like this
I always consider getting some sort of emergency satelliye thingy since a member of my camping party came down with a near fatal case of myocarditis two portages away from cell service one dark stormy night
But we managed without it and everyone got out alive
Then i think of the times ive considered doing something stupid but decided against it because
>no one will ever find me if i get lost down there
Or times ive gotten a bit lost and panicked for a second before calming down and figuring it out
Sounds like a device that lets laziness and intrusive thoughts win
That is some easy snowshoeing on packed snow. I've turned around because I was knee to hip deep in powder and the postholing and pulling my snowshoes up and out with a load on top was exhausting.
he's still able to make survivorman style shots where he leaves the camera and keeps walking.
yet he's asking to be rescued because he's totally fricked and can't make it out.
this guy is a homosexual and should be fined for misusing the rescue feature.
oh wait he has the garmin subscription. nevermind.
forget i said any of that above.....
>cries to be rescued
>is rescued
>"they didn't do it like how I wanted it, and they were mean :("
Should have let his b***h ass freeze to death. If you are being rescued you take what you can get and have some humility for fricking up in the first place.
